  1. US camouflage patterns at camopedia: http://camopedia.camouflagesociety.org/index.php?title=USA
  2. That's what German wikipedia has to say about the camo: Sorry for bad translation.
  3. Do you talk about this one? I reported it some time ago in the NATO v1.30 little bug thread. Since then I don't have seen it again during play, but I don't know if something was done about it by BF.
  4. I would say, just take away the Blue high-ground. That will give the border-wall a significant function. Blue should have no idea what is behind the border station till he has taken it. Blue tanks should have to be brought through this needle-eye as a must, before they can rule on the red side.
  5. I have played your scenario against AI (WEGO iron). Was nice battle, but much to easy. *Spoiler* I just parked my Blue stuff on the hill on my side and took the border station, with some infantry. Never actually had to take the second objective on the red side or the observation post. The Red counter-attack I just 'spawn-killed' with my tanks and arty. The AI surrendered half an hour before official scenario end time. As Blue one just has to position the tanks on the hills and wait to win. Also no really fun for a red player in pbem, I would think. But it was fun to watch of course. :]
  6. That pic shows the Base game + UK + NATO. Could be slightly misleading.

  8. The background story of CMSF gives enough room to imagine an actual Israeli attack on Syria in 2008. Just decide for you that the detonation of waste uranium in major cities of the west the manual talks about, was orchestrated from behind the curtain by Mossad as a false-flag operation...
  9. Some more tips to learn CMSF: I. (Basic Training) - Always play Iron mode right from beginning. - Start with small rural WEGO Quick Battles against AI, both sides UNCON combatants/fighters, then trow in Syrian SOF, then Mech Forces and Armor and later add Blue. - Play some 'all random' QB. Don't bother to win, just take the forces you get and try to make out the best of it. This all will give you a feeling about what is possible to do and what not with all the different weapon systems/unit types/conditions of units+terrain and time/weather II. (Advanced Training) - Play scenarios/campaigns against AI. (WEGO/'Real Time' - as you like) - If you are a CMx1 veteran take some conversion scenarios like 'Chance Encounter' or 'Riesberg' first, if you have played the originals. - Try to win this all against AI. III. (study) - Read the battlefront forums threads about tactics and the available guides you can find. III. (to the real Front) - Play PBEM against CMSF players around the globe and try to win. (Good luck!)
  10. Don't think so much about how to win this, but think much more about how to survive this. First law: Best to kill with arty. Second Law: Never think in the way of 'I want to find someone to shoot', but always 'I dont' want to be found and shoot' on a modern battlefield. Every little ditch, all the flora the hills and the rocks are your friends and so is smoke. Only in 'hide'-status a pixelsoldat is a happy pixelsoldat. Third Law: If you actually have to move, do it has hidden as possible and with as few units at once as possible. There should be lot's of concealed pixelbuddys behind and a little above with good few ahead and with lot's of guns ready. The bigger the caliber and faster the cadence so much the better.
  11. As ex-East German both Red and Blue is interesting for me. No ideological inhibition in any way, when it comes to choosing sides to play in a wargame.
  12. CMSF (USMC/UK/NATO) v1.30 WEGO (pbem) Scenario: NATO 25km to Suran German Sniper Team passing a wall at the point where the corner of the building behind the wall connects to it. I had just given a way-point inside the building from some distance. I can deliver a saved file on demand.
  13. No there isn't, because Mujahideen and Syrian Uncons have different Models.
  14. "CMx2: Normandy (whatever)" + modules will only cover the Summer of Westfront 1944 up to Marget Garden in September. The second CMx2 WW2 Westfront family called for now "CMx2: Bulge (whatever)" will cover the time from start of Battle of Hürtgen Forest in autumn and the Ardennes Offensive (Bulge) in Winter till the end of war in May 1945. Reason is the needed implementation of autumn and winder graphics + weather effects and new unit types + organizations (Volksgrenadier, Volkssturm etc.) in the game engine.

  16. Some of the maps i played as H2H pbem: H2H British Armour Vs Syrian Armour Panzerschlacht at night. Desert plain with little hill chains. UK player will mostly win, if he is carefull and knows what he does because of Über-Challengers. H2H Brit Arm Mix vs. Syr Arm Mix Nice urban map. Better player should take Red. I played Blue and won this quick with Challengers and fast blue arty. But map has potential when played again and both players know what they are up against. H2H Brit Mech Plt Vs UnCon UK player must attack - at night up-hills in high grass. Poor (means boring) designed map. But till now I do good as Red. H2H Brit Recce Vs Syr Recon 'Big Hill-in-the-middle' Battle. BMP-1 vs. Jackals/WMIKs. Good one. Asmar Crossing Very nice designed Red only map with good force tuning. Valley with winding Wadi, Bridge and Farm. Syr Mech/SOF with BMP-1 against UnCons with Recoiless Pickups and a Tank. That one was great. Britain's Joy UK weak reacon force with über air power must free hostages on high ground from UnCons. Means they must get objectives in time, because then hostages spwan. Red get's high score for dead hostages. I think this one plays better with each time when both players know exactly, what to do and what to expect. Friendly Fires! Very nice designed big map. Farm land with villages, wood and high ground. Renegade Arm/Mech syrian 'quisling' forces against ArmInf UK with Challengers. That means practicaly we have an U.S.Army vs. U.K. blue-on-blue. That one I have played as 'Syrians'. After I had killed off the Challengers with a combined M1/mortar/Jevelin-symphony, loosing only 2 Tanks, 2 IVFs and a handfull of pixlings. The remainig Abrams took out the OPFOR IFVs and then my opponent gave up. [*takes off monocle to clean it, takes on monocle again*] Great map, but again I feel for this one both players should know what is on table for max playing fun. Piccadilly Circus Nice little stuffed urban map. That one I lost as told above, but I too think it's great. Again one that should be getting even better with each play. Rescue UK ArmInf vs UnCon. Rescue mission for Blue on nice designed big urban map with both stuffed areas and open ground. Great big Mix of the best features of Britain's Joy, Friendly Fires! and Piccadilly Circus. The 2nd Eleven Blue UK convoy gets ambushed from distant hill high ground. That got a little boring. It's about surviving the opening arty and then advancing over open space up hills as blue. Chechen War - Polyanskoe Was one of the first user made scenarios back in 2007. Green SYR MechInf with BTR-60 posing as Russians vs Veteran Uncon Mercenaries defending small village. Simple straight forward map. That I won as Uncon routing the enemy. Trident Valley That is a little more or less symmetrical map designed for H2H. Blue vs Red MechInf company on each side. I won this as Blue because Bradley is better then BMP. Badinni Dilemma That one is a monster. Big very well designed map. Blue USMC vs Red MechInf + Armour + UnCons. Each side has lot's of troops. I play as Red, battle is still going on. But till now I have good chance to win this. The King Copper Mines Fictional scenario about two little states somewhere in Africa, battling over a Mine complex. Both sides have a company of MechInf plus T-55-1974 and 130mm arty. That one I liked, but my opponent gave up, because he lost to much troops to arty and his briefing was misleading. T-55-1974 vs. T-55-1974 was interesting. At distance they have a chance to take one or two hits from each other. But not always. Map is good with 3 objectives. Dam it UK light Inf (Special Forces) must take a Dam defended by SYR SOFs and UnCons and hold it then against the counter-attack with armor. Won this with a combination of CAS and Javelins. Sabres at Dawn UK ArmInf Recon with Scimitars probe a SYR defense position in a farm complex. Uk has a few Javelins, SYR has a few Kornets. I played as UK and got the farm, but don't know if I actually won it, because I think there where some more objectives and time was running out. Lone Star Shopping Plaza USMC vs Army blue-on-blue! Strike down of a USMC mutiny in Texas. That I gave up, playing as US Army. Had to attack a shopping complex behind a walled highway. Very bad sighting situation, M16s are better over long distance then M4 against body armor. Army has to less troops in this scenario. I gave up as most of my troops where taken down by USMC snipers and automatic grenade launchers. My opponent also said that is very hard for the Army player. But I won it anyway on the paper (After Action Report screen), because I somehow had killed the USMC commander, which got me 1000 points. Has potential, but something felt wrong with this scenario. Edge of Darkness That is a UK Attack against SYR MechInf + Armour on a big map. I think designed for single player real time mode, I play it now since over 2 Months as pbem as UK. UK has not much troops, but the advantage of night vision for the first half of the time. SYR player has lots of tanks and BMPs, but UK gets Javelins for most of them. Industrial City UK vs Uncon urban battle. Obj is to take out 3 BTRs with weapons. That I also played as Blue and got my opponent to give up. Nice map. Chance Encounter That is a conversion of the CMBO Beta for CMSF. This is the CM scenario I have played for the most time now over the years (CMBO,BB,AK,SF). don't remember how the pbem ended. I played as Red and got a draw, i think. Riesberg Another CMBO beta demo conversion. This was the very fist CM scenario I ever played. Played this as Red, but lost of course. In the original you had a 88s against Shermans, now you have SPG-9s against Abrams.
  17. Click on the way point (the over watch-position) before the last one in the building and give a target order to the front of the building when plotting the move.
  18. I use it a lot. It's basically a 'split squad in teams + move the teams quick with over watching each other + let the over-watching team be trigger happy'. So the way-points should be placed in such a way that from one is clear view 'over' the next to the area ahead (means one on one side of a corner and the next behind it is not good). Works very good if you have a platoon advancing over more or less open space with staggered way-points of the different squads. In urban situation things get naturally dodgy. Go slow, with lots of troops + much over-watch preferably from different angels.
  19. Excellent. I decided for a mixture from the groups and single. I hope there will be a NATO add-on.
  20. Ok, I will try. First from your manual quote: Seen from point of 'keeping moral up': - hearing personal voice and seeing of commander next to his troops 'in flesh' is best. -> a voice you can hear also in the dark and in dust/smoke - but also the enemy can hear it -> if you see somebody, you can communicate without voice -> only seeing is a little bit worser for moral -> more distance - more worse Seen from point of 'making good tactics': - the closer the commander is to the flying lead, the greater the chance of "commander kaputt". Radio helps to make a compromise. Less personal voice but over greater distance. Works in dark and dust. Radio can go kaputt easily. ----> Satellite is the Joker! Not so much worth for moral, but better, faster, more widespread and precise info communication + text mode (form of communication through seeing). -> Very hard to make 'kaputt'. ... No chance for this in CMSF. That's the way I see it.
  21. Camo goes after environment. Germany and Netherlands have Central European Woodland Pattern. North European countries and Greek have other colors. There is also urban camo patter, but I don't know if already in service yet.
  22. Don't see a real problem here. Bundeswehr Koninklijke Landmacht Of course, if one really wanted to split hairs about patches, he could do it about every Flecktarn pattern looking the same: In real, every uniform looks a little bit different: Could all be modded, but the more texture variants, the more loading time for a scenario.
