  1. Bailing out crews are still very rambo-ish from my point of view. IMHO most of the time they should be willing to surrender to any nearby enemy if there's no friendlies next to them.
  2. I'm pretty sure that the game takes into account height and size of targets. That's why my pak can spot and fire upon a sherman across a wheat field, but not the infantry running alongside until they are pretty close. But it's quite evident that the calculations have some hiccups from time to time. I've had an experience very similar to poesel71's with a bunker in a hillside.
  3. Very convenient, thanks! Another pack for FI goodies would be too much to ask, wouldn't it?
  4. Thanks for the answers! I too tend to swap and tweak mod files, specially with sound mods. Of course it's easier if you don't have to bother to unpack and repack them, and I wanted to make sure it was ok to have all those raw files lying around there.
  5. I notice that some mods come in the brz package format, but other contain the raw bmps, wavs or whatever. I wonder if there is some advantage / disadvantage in both formats. Any performance differences perhaps? I hope someone can enlighten me.
  6. Brilliant as always. I know I'm a lazy bastard to ask for this, but... is there any pack(s) that includes all of your awesome vehicles for FI (and/or BN)?.
  7. I missed this one! I too hope it's still under development...
  8. I would be in this group. I really value the quality and quantity of campaigns over anything else. And since I find Market Garden the most fascinating operation in WW2, I'm really looking forward to this module. ... this doesn't mean that I don't think that fire should be present to properly depict the urban fights in Arnhem.
  9. I think he's refering to John Basilone. His feat is depicted in The Pacific series, don't miss the statue on this link: http://www.badassoftheweek.com/index.cgi?id=50581021494 XD
  10. Crusaders are my personal favourite. They are useless, but boy do they look cool.
  11. Cool indeed. Very useful!. I have dreamed about something this in CM2 in countless occasions.
  12. Oh, yeah please, gimme a little desert fox action!
  13. I doubt that. ...just be sure to share your work, mate. Single player speaking here!.
  14. Yes, please. It's a bit weird the we have the demo but not the actual patch.
  15. Actually, the average hour weeks (both legal and real) in most European countries is well over 40, similarly to US middle-class workers, I guess. PD: As the eurostat link provided by monsieur Morneau shows.
  16. Actually I think that'd be very appropriate. IIRC, the germans made good use of fire in Arnhem as a means to rooting out enemy resistance from buildings. Many, many houses were deliberately burnt down during the fight.
  17. Looking forward to it!! I'm also a Campaign player, and I loved this one.
  18. I completed the campaign, although I couldn't win the School of Hard Knocks, and had to take the hill in the second attempt scenario (University of Hard Knocks). School of Hard Knocks is indeed one of the most frustrating CM2 experiences I've ever had, but I was aware of that on account of having read endless threads about it. In a later second go at the scenario, I managed to make some progress without being utterly destroyed, but still was far from taking the hill. The rest of the campaign is really good, and the University of Hard Knocks scenario really felt good when finally clearing the bloody hills.
  19. I for one prefer the current Campaign system to the old operations.
  20. I'm bumping this thread as a reminder for Gustav Line devs. Any chance of this being adressed? Pkease?
  21. This is my single most disliked limitation of the current engine from day one. I hoped that it would've been adressed along the way with the patches or v2.0, but my hopes were in vain.
  22. Mmmh, I didn't know that!. But I'd be surprised if it makes them better detecting enemy units. I recall devs stating that snipers have the same detection & hiding abilities as any other soldier of the same experience.
  23. AFAIK, it is not that they are able to see/spot through that terrain, but they are able to trace a LOF through it to order/fire indirect fire weapons.
