  1. Zane, I find that having the 'Show all movement paths' option on (Alt P on the PC) helps to negate this problem, as it becomes pretty obvious when I've accidentally got a group selected. Still, accidental group orders is one of those things that after you've done once or twice, you soon learn to double check for before pressing the big red button!
  2. Hi - the best way to do it is to download and install 1.11 before installing the 2.0 upgrade. In theory the 2.0 upgrade should include the 1.11 fixes, but some people have had issues when installing 2.0 without first installing 1.11.
  3. As one of the forumites who requested the horizon mod be released, a massive thank you from me! My own personal preference are the Set 1 horizon files but I don't use the HD clouds you also included (after trying them once) as I got the odd fast shadow effect as pointed out in your readme. Not that I'm complaining! I think the horizons look great - thanks so much for this!
  4. Think of them as optional files rather than replacement files. Apparently for folks with older graphics cards, the 'default' ones included in 2.0 are the best ones. I think Phil is currently working on the 2.0 CMBN ones to make them even better, so this is just a stop gap measure.
  5. Hi para - yeah, just copy the bumpmapping.vert and .frag files over from your CMFI Z folder into your CMBN Z folder and you should see the improvement - I did. I'm sure Phil will be releasing the equivalent CMBN hotfix that we got for CMFI back in August. This was then rolled into the CNFI 1.0.1 patch.
  6. Thanks! If you think you can make them even better, then I'll happily wait! That said, they look pretty darned good already to my untrained eye! Once again - thanks for all your superb work!
  7. Lovely work - I'll be getting this when I finish work for the day. Thanks!
  8. Wow, this looks fantastic - I can't wait to try this out - thanks so much for your hard work!
  9. This and the Wespe look fantastic! Lovely stuff! Cheeky request time: Any chance you'll release the background horizon picture that's shown in the King Tiger thumbnail on the repository? I really like the one you did for CMFI.
  10. Wow - this looks superb - thanks again (again!) for your hard word!
  11. Ha! One day people will realise that BF only makes the games to justify hosting these forums - it's all a twisted conspiracy I tells ya! Darn, there's a hole in my tin foil hat, and I spent my last $10 on the upgrade! Curse you!
  12. Ask and you shall receive: http://www.battlefront.com/community/announcement.php?f=124&a=581
  13. You sir are a star! Oh, and Egger, you and Dennis are great too! Group hug!
  14. Ken, don't come in here spouting your well reasoned and completely logical arguments! This is the internet goshdarnit!
  15. I don't know - that was a guess on my part I'm afraid - I was getting a bit obsessed with arguing the toss with togi! Until BF comment on this 'officially' this is yet more wild speculation from yours truely Edit to add: BF may well discount the price of the MG + V2.0 bundle, but then again they may not - as far as I'm aware this hasn't been 'officially' stated yet. Or if it has, I've not seen it. Maybe I should just keep schtum on this until better informed types can fill in the blanks!
  16. Hmmm. Sorry, I disagree with your point of view. I have pointed out why I disagree with your point of view. I do not think your point of view has merit. Sorry if that isn't nice to read, but hey, it's my point of view.
  17. Sorry, it must be a language barrier problem here. I don't remember anyone forcing me to buy anything that I want to use for my entertainment. I don't see how fair comes into it, other than I think $10 is a fair price for putting new features into an old game. Of course, I could save myself $10 and continue to play CMBN as-is. But why would I deprive myself of gaming enjoyment when it's only $10, which is about what I'll be spending on my lunch later today, and for which I'll get a new lease of life out of my old game. Fair? Too blooming right!
  18. No, not changed his mind - it's stated on the announcement of the Upgrades on 22nd June 2012: http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=104855&page=3. 'NOTE: some Modules will require a certain version number for them to work. Individual players will have to decide for themselves if they want to Upgrade so they can use that Module or not.' I think you are misremembering. Sheesh mate, I'm not some gullible sheep here! I'd love for it to be free, who wouldn't? However, companies need money to do stuff. In your opinion, they don't. Reality would suggest one of us is wrong.
  19. Sorry togi, I've just reread the Upgrades Q&A thread in the CMFI forum, and it's stated outright that you will need v2 to play MG - so you either get it early and enjoy v2 goodness in CMBN and Commonwealth, or you get it in order to play MG further down the line. So yeah, $10 now or $10 later if you want to play MG. It's still not unethical or outrageous - I can't think of any other gaming company I'd rather give my £7.50 to - it's not like I'm not getting hours and hours of enjoyment from the money or anything...
  20. Not everyone who bought CMBN also bought CMFI, and back-porting the v2 goodies to CMBN was a separate effort, so no, the development costs for upgrading have not already been paid. I'm pretty sure BF stated you will need v2 to play MG, and as a result v2 will be bundled with MG if you haven't already got it, but will cost more than if you buy MG after already buying the V2 update (as you'll not need the more expensive MG with V2 bundle). So all BF are doing is offering us the chance to play with v2 before MG comes out, if we want to. If that's outrageous and unethical, I think my dictionary may need amending.
  21. Mine arrived today - and I'm pleased to say the Post Office didn't gouge me for the VAT this time round, so I'm a happy camper! I really like the new format manual as well. Oh and I don't actually mind the change to the case style to be honest.
  22. I'm using an NVIDIA GTX 570 (on a Windows 7 64 bit OS) and this has fixed the 'juddering shadows' I was seeing on buildings - the shadows are now nicely blended in and the whole game looks much better as a result - excellent work!
  23. Once again Mr Emrys you are absolutely spot on.
  24. Ahem: http://www.battlefront.com/community/announcement.php?f=137&a=546 I'd like to complain about not finding out it was available until midnight UK time - I only got 4 hours sleep as a result - this is an obvious sign of BF's legendary anti-European pro-USA bias, and their whole release strategy is fundamentally flawed!
  25. Cheers guys! Yeah, just tried Alt R and it's definitely on by default - it looks great, really makes a difference. Curses, now I really have to go to bed, I'm supposed to be up in 5 hours... Oh, just one more turn!
