  1. Oh, well I guess you are suffering from a different problem to myself and a few others then. Is it only during that second mission, or are all other scenarios you play affected? I only ask because the problem I have with saved games happens on every scenario game that I have saved. If your random CTD is related to a single scenario, that might narrow down the places BFC had to look. I haven't got to Webwing's 2nd battle yet - I lost too many men and decided to redo the first mission, but still haven't restarted...
  2. Is this happening during the 'interactive' replay on the very last second? I've got this problem with saved games - I have to make sure I hit the big red button on 2 seconds remaining or my saved games crash. Makes me feel like James Bond defusing a bomb every turn!
  3. I had exactly the same problem using ATI 8.1 drivers and almost exactly the same setup as you (without the great monitor unfortunately!), and my problem went away when I rolled back to 7.11. In another thread ('ATI left click problem gone' I think) it was suggested that 8.1 drivers require the full uninstallation of previous drivers before they work, but as I'd already uninstalled 7.11 before installing 8.1 I think maybe it's our card that's not liking 8.1.
  4. I've just had this happen when playing 'Chance Encounter' (the re-jigged for 1.06 version) on turn 5 or 6 (so not near the end). It happens in the final second of the replay as described above, and this is a game I started in 1.06. I can avoid the crash by skipping the replay, but playing on I got the crash again a few turns later (again in the last second). I also have the saves if needed.
  5. Yeah, that's exactly what I'm seeing. I hope it's possible to release the corrected campaign file for download prior to 1.07 as I still haven't completed the whole thing - I keep restarting every time there's a new patch. I don't mind waiting - there's a load of scenarios and maps out there thanks to the community, and 1.06 is making them seriously fun again.
  6. OK - not meaning to hijack this thread, but I just quit the second mission in the campaign, and sure enough when I previewed the map, the red forces were scattered randomly in the open all over the place. This is with a brand new campaign started in 1.06, not a saved game from 1.0.5.
  7. Just played the second mission in the Thunder campaign - it seems the red forces are no longer positioned where they used to be. Now I think about it, I'm not sure they were in the first mission either. For example in the 2nd mission, there are a couple of uncon squads out in the open, not in the buildings near the main entrance, and the machine gun bunkers are no longer by the gate either. It makes the missions a bit easier when no one is in cover. Anyone else noticing this? Other than this I've not spotted anything but improvements with the patch.
  8. Accidentally stayed up until 3:30am 'testing' 1.06 this morning. Time well spent I have to say. I'm very impressed with how smoothly the game is playing considering all the new eLOS checks that are going on. Also, it seems the eye candy has been improved - the new smoke and dust trails are very nice, and maybe I'm just imagining but the shadows look better too. A good game just got better - thanks BFC!
  9. Hmmm, well I had to roll back to 7.11 as I suffered horrible performance in CMSF with my 1950XTX using 8.1. At first I thought it was the 1.06 patch, but rolling back to my previous drivers fixed everything. I was getting a 3-5 second pause when selecting units, even with everything turned right down and the resolution reduced. Now I've gone back to 7.11 I'm running everything at max again, and enjoying all the joys of 1.06. Mind you, I never suffered the 'left click' bug in the first place, so I'm happy it's fixed it for you!
  10. I am fully enjoying this game once again, having left it alone for a few weeks before 1.05 came out. I have one complaint though - I've been late for work twice already because I wanted to see what would happen 'next turn'. BFC - fix or do sumfink!
  11. May well be irrelevant to the NVidia debate (what with me having an ATI card and all!), but I only see fuzzy fonts when looking at text when it has the 'far off' background texture behind it. When panning the camera and viewing the text so that it has the detailed map texture behind it, it is crisp.
  12. Thanks - good job! I missed this the first 2 times! I look forward to trying these out in a PBEM soon.
  13. Looks like my weekend plans may need to be slightly readjusted! Thanks again for the hard work!
  14. I saw that image, and IIRC it was photoshopped. Or I too have not found the right buttons to press!
  15. I've seen something similar with one of the campaign battles - where you start with a knocked out Bradley and the crew are by a bus shelter. I saved the game before the first turn and a majority of the flavour objects were gone - the shelter, the phone poles etc. I'm got an ATI X1950XT, Core Duo 6700, 2GB memory.
  16. Thanks to you and the rest of the team for your hard work - I look forward to trying these out!
  17. The only compatibility issues will obviously be between people playing with different patched versions. But everyone knows that. Gah! I type silly stuff while waiting for patches!
  18. Just got the email (in my junk folder, naturally - thanks hotmail!) Downloading at 250kbs. But I'd wait a while to download if I were you - don't want to clog up my download now, do you?
  19. Gah! Double post! The servers are a bit slow today, I can't imagine why.
  20. Surely you mean 'POST THE DAMN FILES PLEASE'? Otherwise it could look a little, you know, rude or somefink?
  21. Yep, I just got the new ATI drivers (well, from earlier this week) in preparation for the fun and games. Seems I hadn't updated them since I was waiting the TOW download link to activate...
  22. Yeah, this morning I cancelled my play.com pre-order and pre-ordered through here instead. I mean, what if there's another postal strike here in the UK? The horror of being subject to the whims of the postal service was just too much to bear, let alone the added bonus of extra profit for BFC!
