  1. Excellent reading. I have been making some Normandy scenario's lately and this kind of info is really helpful. Especially the quality setting, I totally overlooked that! I can't wait to put this info to work in making scenario's for MG.
  2. This is great stuff. It sounds REALLY good. Compliments my friend. This will remain in my Z folder forever!
  3. Yes, these are sorely missing. They would make a great addition to the editor! Cityscapes would REALLY benefit.
  4. Yes, the editor is quite good, but there is room for improvement. At first I was a bit daunted by the editor, but you learn the ropes quite quickly if you make the effort. I am now playtesting my scenario and constantly tweak it. The AI editor SCREAMS for triggers. Normally for the Germans, the 3rd platoon of a company was in reserve, ready to counterattack should one of the other 2 platoons be pushed back. Right now it is almost impossible to implement these real tactics. I am also still somewhat confused by the timers (start before, start after). It is not very intuitive to mesomehow.
  5. I am making a scenario for the first time. Setting is a Norman village. I took QB-267 as a start and took it form there. It is A LOT of work to bring a village to life. Most of the times the urban environments look much to clinical. I now know why. The editor could be more user friendly: the constant switching to 3d preview mode takes a lot of time, especially for tinkering with the flavor objects. It would be great if there was a palet in 3d mode where you can click on something and see it on the map instantly. Or something like that.
  6. I see a lot of great suggestions here. Maybe BFC will chip in and comment on some of them. Maybe a bit off topic, but why do the pixeltruppen tire so quickly when using the hunt command. I understand that movement will be slow when hunting, but why the rapid tiring? I hardly use hunt for infantry for that reason.
  7. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion, but ultimately it does not matter, BFC calls the shots. MG is on, and I am glad it is :-)
  8. I am sure glad you don't call the shots at Battlefront, Redwolf. I can not wait for MG and I think a lot of other people here do too. Bring it on BFC! And some bones for this dog. Woof.
  9. It has been a while. Some bones would be nice. Screenshot bones. Windmills! Woof.
  10. Yes, a 1940 west front CM would be great, but I think it is not commercially viable. I would love to play the battle for the Grebbe Line in Holland for instance. But I doubt it is ever going to happen.
  11. Bring em on, I'll buy em all. Except maybe CMSF2. I bought CMSF and Marines, but did not play it a lot. So, unless CMSF2 turns out really damn good, I will probably skip it. That said, OMG is highly anticipated by me. I live very close to Arnhem/Nijmegen. East front will be great too. Gustav line I will buy too, CMFI was a pleasant surprise. But Western Europe remains my favorite theater.
  12. I put off playing CMBN/CW until the 2.0 upgrade was released. But some of the bugs in 2.0 were terribly annoying, so I put off CMBN/CW some more until 2.01 fixed those bugs. But it also changed some aspects of the game in a way that I at least am very happy with (MGs feel so right now). Now I am playing the hell out of CMBN/CW. Most of the battles and campaigns remained unplayed by me. It was a long wait, but in retrospect I think it was worth it.
  13. So much good news. Gustav and Market Garden both round the corner. I will get them both ofcourse. Market Garden in particular interests me, Arnhem is practically my back yard (I work in Arnhem, a 30 minute drive). Normally I would be really impatient at this point, but I am having a blast with CMBN 2.01 right now. I deliberately let it rest for many months, awaiting the patches. And the patches have delivered, 2.01 really is brilliant. So CMBN/CW is almost like a new game to me, with most battles unplayed thus far. But no more :-)
  14. Oh boy, I am playing CMBN a lot with the 2.01 patch, since it is sooo good now. And now this puppy is announced. BFC keep on giving and giving (for a small fee). I trust that the magnificent changes to the engine in CMBN 2.01 make it into Gustav too? O, and I am surprised Gustav is out before Market Garden, or will there be an additional announcement shortly... Good times, that's for sure!
  15. I really like it. It is a real game changer. The German halftracks with there on board machine gun are a powerful asset now. Even in close combat (one halftrack was unsuccesfully ambushed up close and promptly returned fire with it's MG to deadly effect) they are really dangerous. Tanks with their coax mg too. I feel that the Germans gain a bit more by these changes. But so it should be. They built there squads around their MG42 for good reason. In most cases they should have fire superiority against the Amis and the Brits with their brens and BARs. Also their tripod MG42's are really powerful now. If they zero in on a squad even from a long distance, the squad is in trouble. I already usually kept my squads out of the buildings on the outer rim of a village, but now it is really suicidal if you don't. If they break fire discipline and are spotted and those heavy MG42 start pouring lead on them from long distances, they better get the hell out if they can or they are toast. It has been said before, I'll say it again: this game just got a whole lot better! And now a few Market Garden bones would be nice :-)
  16. The game feels different. The MGs feel right. The machinegun is now so much more important on the battlefield. No more maneuvering with relative impunity, when you are on the receiving end of MG42 at 1000 meters. Kudos!
  17. Man, these MG's rip away! Brutal! This is so much better!
  18. So far, it feels VERY good. This game has really come of age.
  19. Wonderful, I am itching to play CMBN again because the wandering MG/AT crews will no doubt stay with their guns now.
  20. 40, been around since 1999 when I bought CMBO.
  21. MG crews and mortar crews suffer from a deployment bug. Known issue and a real pain in the a***. Patch 2.01 is in beta, so hang on.
  22. Just played CMBN v2 for hours and had a blast. Only for 10 bucks. It is a steal. Don't like it? Don't buy it! Thanks again battlefront for updating my favorite game!
  23. I just played a little, and my .30 cal machineguns took some time before they were deployed. No insta deploy there.
