  1. Moon, I had my paradox cd in the mail today. The included manual is pretty minimal :-( Is the full manual supposed to be on the CD? I don't see it anywhere...
  2. Paradox have put up 1.01 for download: http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?t=315202
  3. According to Paradox, the game is ready for download from Gamersgate. Unfortunately, I pre-ordered with Paradox for a physical copy only (there was no dl/cd combo offer). I have to wait for the mailman to bring me deliverance
  4. You already have it? Lucky bastard. I see you live in Finland. Maybe the mail to Holland works just as fast. Come on Paradox, me wants it also. Make me happy.
  5. My first wargame was Eastern Front 1941 on my Atari 800XL. It was programmed by Chris Crawford. Man I was hooked to that. It was brilliant. I'm getting old No wait! Combat on the Atari 2600. What a blast!
  6. Want.it.in.my.hands.too I also preordered from Paradox (but only yesterday). Maybe CMSF will land on my doormath the coming days too [ July 19, 2007, 05:26 AM: Message edited by: PanzerMike ]
  7. July 27th. That's just another 2 months. Kewl! I will delay the purchase of my new PC just a little longer and go all out in July to have the best possible gaming rig to play this baby Not since CMBB have I looked forward to a new game this much!
  8. On the list for the add-on. Good! I really hope TOW will be a polished gem in the near future. What I'm hearing so far about the future plans sounds very promising!
  9. Have not played the game yet (not even the demo, my rig is ancient...). May get it after the patch comes out. Need a new PC for that Anyway, how is smoke modeled in TOW? I don't mean the smoke of a brewed up tank, but smoke used by smoke grenades. I recently read 'By Tank into Normandy' by Stuart Hills, you see. It's a good read. I noticed that they used smoke tactically quite a lot (for instance a Tiger pops up out of the range of the Sherman 75mm gun; they immediately put some smoke between them and the Tiger). So, how does TOW deal with this?
  10. I agree with you Sequoia. Very well put. I also prefer ETO to any other theater (CMBO blew me away). Eastern Front is interesting too, but more so on a strategic scale IMO (still played a lot of CMBB). I would love to see ETO 1939-1940! Keeping the Germans out of my country (Netherlands) will prove quite a challenge
  11. I had been looking forward to this game for a long time. Still, I decided not to pre-order somehow and have a little patience. Judging by the very mixed reactions on the forum on TOW that was probably a wise thing to do. But it's good to know that there will be improvements in the near future. If these improvements succeed in making this game reaching it's full potential then I will buy it later on. By that time CMSF will probably have gone gold too. I don't think I can resist the temptation to pre-order that one
  12. Now this is the news I have been waiting for. I have delayed my purchase of a new PC so far. Only when I know when ToW hits gold will I buy a new rig. Allthough the wait for ToW has been longer than anticipated, my new rig will be better for it Looking forward to THE announcement later this month!
  13. Hmmm. I know that it is much too soon to know if TOW(BFC version) is any good (I mean the game is not even out yet). But the initial reactions to the Russian version don't look very promising. I hope the 'real' release will be a different cookie I still have faith! BFC will get it right. Lets keep our finger crossed for the real thing. I plan to upgrade my ancient PC specifically for this game, you know. Would hate it if the game turned out to be a tomato.
  14. The Netherlands he? That would be very interesting, a welcome change from the USA. They make a big effort for such a small country (Iraq, Afghanistan). I vote for the Dutch! Oh, and the Germans too ofcourse Bring it on!
  15. Ranges over 500 metres ! Yay ! Can't wait for the demo !
  16. Looks like the southern shoulder of Kursk 1943.
  17. Check out this link: http://www.strategyinformer.com/pc/theatreofwar/interview.html Strategy Informer: What are the current system requirements for World War II RTS? David Philippov: If your PC has the following hardware you will he able to get maximum impressions from the game - Processor 3Mhz, 1Gb RAM, GeForce 6800 or Radeon X800 video card. I would also recommend using Creative SB Audigy 2 or similar audio card because or sound is not just good, we were also working on a realistic sound!
  18. I'm so excited about this project. Amazing! Now we have CMxII and TOW to look forward too. Oh the wait is agonizing... Looks like I have a VERY good reason to buy a new PC at the end of the year. Right now my old rig is AMD1700+, it will soon be 5 years old  What kind of beast is required for TOW (and CMSF) ?
  19. Kumbaya, my Lord, kumbaya! Kumbaya, my Lord, kumbaya! Kumbaya, my Lord, kumbaya! O Lord, kumbaya!
  20. Fytinghellfish, are you the hellfish that also resides on the DD/HIP forum now and then ? "Paradox: please fix or do somefink"
  21. "All we are saying ... is give peace a chance" Alltogether now ! "All we are saying ... is give peace a chance" Sorry. But we have to do something while we wait forever for this game
  22. This board is indeed as good as dead, a far cry form ye olde times. Used to lurk here all the time Now I check this board every now and than, but there is no news whatsoever :-( I too don't think this is the way to go for BFC, but they think otherwise. Shame really. I am an 'old' boardgamer that used to play World In Flames. Matrix Games are at last converting this classic to the PC. The developer is in close touch with the forum members. Very nice. I hope this board will rise from it's ashes once CMSF goes gold. Relive old times, yeah ! Especially once CMx2 returns to the battlefields of Europe in 1944.
