  1. Yeah, endless salvos of 122mm PGMs bouncing off all the targets they were designed to kill.
  2. Recent reports suggest that 'Winter Of Discontent' does not lend itself well to Real-Time play, there's quite a lot going on once the battle heats up (you have a weakened battalion at your disposal) and it's easy to overlook things. Many thanks to @3j2m7 for your help.
  3. Missed this.....Agree totally, also he makes very realistic use of watercourses, which really adds to realism as they are one of the strongest forces shaping any given terrain. If I had to guess, @George MC's climbing background might well be a factor in this, I suspect he's spent quite a bit of time studying exactly how these things work, so that he doesn't fall off anything!
  4. Reckon so! Once you start, you'll find the intricacies of the editor are every bit as addictive (& frustrating) as actually playing CM.....I reckon I spend ten to twenty hours in the editor for each one that I spend playing.
  5. 9! E'gads! You have been busy! Those really would look great with some T-90s steaming across them!
  6. Ah, I didn't check to see what happens to vehicles on the AI side, I just assumed the behaviour would be the same (I should know better really).....Won't take me long to check though.
  7. TBH just being able to see both sides at once in 3d mode within the editor would be good.
  8. I've been thinking about some of the criticism of the AI in this thread and while much of it is entirely fair, IMHO all of it should perhaps be considered with the following in mind for perspective: Imagine how well a battle might go for you if you had to give all of your units, all of their orders, for the entire battle, on the first turn.....Because that is more or less what designers are trying to do with AI plans.
  9. Updated link for the site in the original post: https://www.oryxspioenkop.com/2020/01/the-oryx-handbook-of-iranian-fighting.html
  10. @maddyman10 Either look for a folder called 'Mods' in: Documents/Battlefront/Combat Mission/Black Sea/User Data Or navigate to: [Your CM:BS install directory]**/Data And inside the Data folder create another folder called 'z' (no quotes). You can then put the mods in either.....The second option is 'old-school' but it has its advantages. ** You can locate this by right clicking on the shortcut and selecting 'Open file location'. HTH
  11. @3j2m7 & @Suchy PM's are inbound with link to 'Winter Of Discontent'.
  12. If anyone can do it, @MOS:96B2P is the man.....Go on dude! You know you want to!
  13. @JMDECC TBH fella, I'll be more than happy with your Iranians (& a certain map), they will get lots of use (& it is still on my desktop, but now greener).
  14. If you are still after inspiration for Iranian armour, how about trying to dress a T-90SA up as the (largely fictional) Khorramshahr tank? The real thing was (probably) only a single prototype built in cooperation with Ukraine, it's a T-80/84 turret on a T-72S hull.....Kind of cool looking though. Here is one of the only two only other images that I've seen of it, in a distinctly less appealing camo-scheme: You can find the other here: https://defence.pk/pdf/threads/iranian-produced-military-equipment-that-you-probably-dont-know.168020/ Scroll down until you spot the same nauseating camo!
  15. @DerKommissar Turns out the Khorramshahr was indeed a T-80/84 turret & gun on a T-72S hull and we now know the Karrar is also built on a T-72S hull (& turret too, by the looks of it): https://below-the-turret-ring.blogspot.com/2016/10/karrar-tank-revealed-to-be-upgraded-t-72.html So the 'new' tank is actually a significant retrograde step from the older proposal.
  16. The option for more than one AI controlled faction (neutrals/co-belligerents etc.).
  17. That seems almost irrelevant given the vehicles we already have.
  18. And now I'm outta likes.....Glad you got those posted, this map definitely deserves a proper look! PS @MOS:96B2P Did you see this yet? Dunno about you, but I'm finding it hard to look at if for more than a few minutes before getting 'the itch'. PPS - The Delta skybox from 'H&E' might work well too.....Might need reorienting (if that's possible, which I suspect it is). It's actually a really difficult little corner to fix.....Adjacent ditch-locked tiles are dragging the base elevation of the buildings down, despite you ditch-locking them (it's one of those 'quirks'). As far as I can tell it can only be done by somewhat changing the character of the terrain.
  19. Those look great.....I will be using your Iranians for sure! You have done the forces of OSIRIS a great sevice!
