CM:BN Screenshot Thread #2
jtsjc1 replied to Battlefront.com's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Nice! Sounds alot like the story of PVT John R. Towle except he died during Market Garden. -
I preordered this one myself when it was released. I figured this would sell out quickly and triple in price at least. Beautiful book worth every penny. Unique titles like this are a must in my collection.

From what I've read their CO was relieved after this action.

So good I bought it twice. Also Between the Oder and the Elbe by Tieke, Wilehlm: New Hardcover (2006) 1st Edition | J.M. Brown (abebooks.com) Check out the small map section underneath. That is a supplemental map that is included. Its a 24"x36" color street map of Berlin on one side and a color battle map on the other. Beautiful and excellent book translated to English.

I am currently reading Escaping the Trap (tamupress.com). An excellent account of the X Corps in Korea in 1950. This book gives mostly the US Army side of the campaign, Task Force Faith etc. As usual Lt. Col. Appleman goes into great detail on the hell of Chosin and though outnumbered the US Army and Marines fought with everything they had in horrendous conditions. If you like detailed operational reading you will really enjoy it.

jtsjc1 replied to z1812's topic in Combat Mission - General Discussion
I certainly wouldn't mind a module in this time period but one thing on the wish list was always CMKW. KW= Korean War. Of course CM Pacific Theater would be first! -

Fire And Rubble now Cold War! You guys really want my money don't you? -
Good game I do remember the flak tower.
-
That had to be an amazing shot. Think about the variables the height of the tower, the angle of depression possible wind, target size and range. Those guns weren't normally used for aimed shots. I have both editions of Bloody Streets but I haven't read the second yet. I don't remember too much about the flak towers.

If you see any video of a ATGM or RPG fired in a building you'll see it rearranges the room. -
