  1. I think it is important to be sure we are talking about the same thing. 4.0 behavior changed for a specific case. HE fire. The intended goal was for troops to do what people here hoped. Unfortunately it has troops leaving good cover instead of staying put. I don’t know that it has anything to do with the specific incident here.
  2. Ha see you work for Battlefront, there is the tie in! Well that home improvement one might be interesting. If it is a real contractor it may be they can actually catch someone for fraud.
  3. I'm not going anywhere, retirement is a ways off and if the market keeps tanking, further off than I realize.
  4. If you ever consider it, CMBS TF Spartan Resolve had a TF Bayonet mod. I gave it a shot but it won't move to CMSF without work. If you are really into getting more work ( ) a 4th ID mod would make a nice addition... and a 1st Cav.. and a …….. heh heh
  5. @IICptMillerII well I am all set. put tags on both your mods, added tag files for the game and gave em a test run. woot! Thanks a bunch man
  6. That was actually my first thought - that the game was using the icon of the unit occupying the vehicle and someone had dismounted the vehicle crew to mount an infantry team. I have done that, but never noticed it having an impact. Wen I checked, all was normal. The only other thing that I can think of is a mod doing something, but there aren't that many mods yet.
  7. I thought I'd see if I could take the TF Spartan Resolve mod and use, but whatever you tweaked and I didn't makes a difference. I can mod tag your mod and use in CMSF2 but not the TF spartan resolve ones even if I rename correctly. Dang.
  8. well my theory half way panned out. The Marine CAAT unit has 4 people in the Mk 19 hmmwv. It still however does not use that icon you see. I tried creating a scenario from CMSF1 and importing it - no change. By any chance have you not loaded the 2.1 patch for CMSF2? That is my final guess at something being different.... never mind looked at your first post and you noted 2.01... I have no idea why you are seeing that.
  9. Open a ticket with the help desk https://battlefront.mojohelpdesk.com/
  10. Yeah basically once they are on map regardless of whether they can communicate they take on the state of the unit they are part of. There has been some work done on this that demonstrates the behavior. Less than optimal for sure but it is part of the unit behavior.
  11. That ain’t right. it show 4 people. Let me tinker around I have some suspicions what that might be
  12. Lol yeah it just heard all the panicked cries over the radio.
  13. Nah you just buy a bunch of fake followers on twitter and create a false interest level.
  14. which icon are we talking about. That is the UI presentation not what I would call the vehicle Icon. That is what appears above the vehicle within the game area.
  15. Hey Alan. The video seems to be showing now. The only things I can note in that video is there is what appears to be an enemy unit on the floor above that is a very recent casualty so I assume the turn before there was more of a firefight. In addition the team leader at the start of the turn is cowering. Why they would have chosen that direction to bug out to I can't say, but there seems to be a bit going on there that may be the source of their decision to bug out. C2 on the other hand looks good. I ran a quick test with a good order unit firing into an adjacent room and there is no ill effect so I wouldn't say the firing alone is the source of the AIs decision. It could very well be that is coincidental and regardless of the target command they would have been bugging out anyway this turn based on whatever happened the previous turn. Hard to say.
  16. Not sure what you are seeing as that does not link to a CM pic just a general search on images. When I look in CM an hmmwv is a vehicle icon regardless of armament. The only variation is the TOW version icon.
  17. No worries. We all have our moments and the AI is what it is. There are limitations and sometimes they express themselves in screen punching moments. fyi the video is showing as unavailable. If you have a save that is a better option. I know the scenario in question and part of the issue there may be that the space is completely enclosed with only one exit so depending on what the AI thinks it is trying to do, its pathing options are very limited.
  18. And just because it is fun to poke millennials and be the old man nutter screaming “get off my lawn!”
  19. I don’t think that scenario has changed. Hell at least you don’t have to have space to set up a board game the cat can’t get to. Some of those board games got (and that continues - surprisingly large board military board games still sell and there is some really nice stuff out there) ridiculously complex. I can open CM play a turn, save and go about what ever I have to do, pause at any time etc. what we didn’t have was a multitude of little app games like candy crush you could mindlessly enjoy that would end up consuming far more time but to your point did not have any mental stress involved I.e thinking. Personally I think Steve was more on target about the immediacy of communications. Expectation of instant reply is altering our sense of actually having any free time. Everyone is always available. Personally I think there are huge negative consequences for that which are slowly playing out for us in a lot of different ways.
  20. First complaint on outer boards. “I have a time limit?! What about my recon phase?!”
  21. Yeah I can relate. Sometimes I’ll open the game and just mess with a couple things. Not actually try and play but create a diorama type setting, mess with a map a little bit etc. those are a lot less “stressful”.
