yeah kind of a tough call if you have the following requirements you play only against the AI, not against another human you own only the base game Scenario developers tend to take advantage as new stuff comes out so a lot of the newer scenarios are going to require some of the modules. That leaves you with the QB aspect. There are a lot of folks who can give tips like budbacker about how to get the most out of the quick battles and possibly satisfy your itch.

Russians to try to rewrite history on Sov Afghan War
sburke replied to Sublime's topic in General Discussion Forum
True. Damned Assyrians. They never have been exposed for the damage they have done to humanity. A side note that actually is kind of amazing. There are still Assyrian militias that have had success fighting ISIL. These folks have been around close to 5000 years. It must all be their fault. -
But that must have been a great dream!

Much as I agree I think we are treading into a very much more political discussion here. -

heh listening to the sound of the building collapsing from the v1...… deja vu.... sounds like CM. -
Oh man you don't know the half of it. He strolls around the beta club showing off some bomber jacket with that scrolled across the back. He even has a tattoo! Doubt that is official, but you'd think so from the way he flaunts it. He does this really lame casual move edging up to the bar in a way to put the dang thing right in your face and considering where the tattoo is... well it is just quite rude.

Sheesh another ignorant soul. Swiss cheese is NOT part of either a cheesesteak or a hoagie. Okay that's it, road trip. Everyone meet me in South Philly. -

That was too funny. I had a blast with Y2K. I was paid triple time to sit at a customer site and monitor the phone system while they served food and drinks, ran movies and then watched the fireworks from the balcony on the SF waterfront. Their NY office was 3 hours ahead so we knew 3 hours ahead that it was a complete waste of time for me to be there. Great night, good money, free food and booze and I wasn't stuck in a mob of people looking for a port o potty. -

it isn't a binary decision. Liking a cheesesteak or not is irrelevant. I like steak, doesn't mean I don't want to have sautéed scallops tonight. Sheesh you Boston folks...… I thought you said common sense was part of the Yankee thing. -
Watching TV made stuff is always going to distort your view. Real life stuff is far less interesting from an action orientation than what gets portrayed on the screen. Winter's primary role in this action was to organize the teams, plan the attack and keep his men moving forward. Taking up a rifle and firing it was the least important thing he did that day. Did he do it, sure. He kind of had to as part of the reason that attack is talked about so much is it was a ridiculously small force to accomplish the mission and only succeeded because of the training, elan and leadership of the unit. To use that as a general use case in a discussion is like saying I got hit by a screw that fell off of Skylab to show how dangerous the space program is. Regarding command delays. Any player is free to include them in their own play style. I actually do it from time to time to create more of a story playing than just gaming it. It can certainly be fun. When doing that I also look at the soft factors to decide how long it might take that specific commander to formulate and issue orders and make sure there are C2 links, can the commander meet face to face with sub commanders, do I have runners etc. Doing that though means every scenario you play then should probably be kicked out to the full 4 hours so you don't get frustrated only playing 50% or less of the scenario. On the other hand I am with IanL on this. I absolutely do not want to see them back in the game.

how do i see the aircraft coming in

I actually in one point in testing CMBS identified what I think was the object point representing an airframe. I had a save showing it, but haven't bothered trying to duplicate as even if it was that it was useless to me for playing the game. Another interesting experiment is to play around with drones. They are always represented by an object off map that is irrelevant to the position you denote for them to observe. -

gawd son, you need to go to Philly and eat the real thing if you want to continue this discussion. Like trying to explain an elephant to a blind man. Hmm don't know what to say about your cold cut issue. I think you need to try a hoagie before you totally give it up. -
Obviously, not much to see here yet!

Russians to try to rewrite history on Sov Afghan War
sburke replied to Sublime's topic in General Discussion Forum
Yeah this is part of the problem with that whole discussion. It is one thing to talk about Civil War history. It is another discussion to talk about reconstruction and the actions to undermine the political and economic power of the newly freed slaves. This is when most of the statues were actually put up. They weren't there to remember the history of the civil war, they were meant to show who was back in charge. The history of reconstruction is one of the most ignored but fascinating moments in the development of our democracy mostly because it was a moment where we failed our ideals. Sadly, that we can't separate the two and have an open discussion of our history both good and bad just seems to be the norm now. -

So there you go showing your ignorance Yankee. A Cheesesteak is a Cheesesteak. A Hoagie is a Hoagie. A Hoagie has no steak on it. A Hoagie is cold. A Cheesesteak is hot. Sheesh California has places selling things they call Cheesesteaks. They for the most part aren't. There was a place down the street from me that actually had the real thing, but that was a guy from Philly so he knew what he was talking about and flew in the proper rolls..yes that does matter. -
I hear that. Not sure if it is getting older or just some things I am picking up lately about relative importance of stuff. My best buddy at work was getting set to retire and just before Christmas he fell off a ladder at home and suffered a severe head injury. He is recovering but it has been touch and go. Griping about DRMs and what naming convention someone uses just isn't anywhere on my priority list.

no it won't. Just tried it out of curiosity with TF Thunder.

nah there are a few threads like this but there is far more that is fun, interesting and sometimes just down right amusing. Don't let the few instances where folks just can't seem to let something like this go set the tenor for everything. A lot of us would be really disappointed to see you not here. Besides deleting your account won't stop you from visiting. For myself I am just trying to be more particular to what I reply to and how. All of the responses to the tempest only add to it. The guy was answered. Steve saw it, replied and took some action. It's done. Go post some screenshots!

You can call it a cheesesteak but it only displays your ignorance on what is a cheesesteak.
