  1. Well imagine Emrys doing a video with millennials trying to do carved stone tablets! Or “remember when we had to get our own meat by hunting wooly mammoths with spears?!”
  2. Yeah there are specific cases to accomodate the AI. It has some unfortunate knock off effects but short of developing an absolutely human interaction capable AI......
  3. Just to be clear I myself never made any claim to respectability.
  4. That is actually a pretty interesting idea. I’d buy it, but then again I am not afraid to play in the editor to create stuff even if it is just for me. Developing a product with no user content is something I expect Steve would say “you are crazy” to, but yeah I am a bit crazy that way.
  5. Nope. CM does not have a “weapons malfunction” feature that causes casualties. It does have friendly fire at certain calibers though. That is kind of a malfunction. You’d need a save to go back and find cause.
  6. Try this freakin hysterical. Best part is them “resetting by lifting the handset” I thought I was gonna piss myself every time they did that
  7. Guess we are still going down this road. Okay let’s ask this then. How about if it were a statue of Hitler? All statues are not equal, all locations for said statues are not equal. It is a very subjective discussion that has to be in context for it to be worthwhile. A general discussion of whether or not a statue should or should not stand has to be predicated on something real. The erection of statues post civil war was not about historical relevance but political intent. If we were talking a stature for the surrender at Appomattox I doubt there would be much debate. The point of the civil war statues is looking at WHEN they were built tells us more about them than what the statue itself is. Of the some 1500 civil war monuments most were built from 1890 to 1930. From a historians perspective then, the fact that they are civil war statues is less important than historically what is going on from 1890 to 1930. That is the point of the debate. So you have a couple things going on here that are relevant. 1 monuments cost money. They don’t produce a return so it was unlikely that these statues would go up until there was an econonmic resurgence in the south 2 civil war veterans are starting to die off and it is natural for folks to want to remember an event that had the greatest impact on their lives 3 Jim Crow - need I say more? those 3 options mean different things to different portions of our society and reflect on our priorities. White folks have a view of those statues and the civil war conflict. Black folks have a view of those statues and Jim Crow. They are both to some degree true. Our ability to appreciate the difference in those views and show some empathy for alternative perspectives is one thing. Being manipulated by particular views that have their own political agenda is a whole other issue. Those weren’t historical society members marching with tiki torches in Charlottesville. At the same time those tiki toting morons do not speak generally for folks interested in civil war history.
  8. I bet that is a secret clue for the Russian Front 1942!!!!
  9. Always best to start with the helpdesk... and I say that because to answer your question I had to go there... I frankly wasn't sure I'd remember it correctly https://battlefront.mojohelpdesk.com/help/article/127908 There may be a shorter variant if you bought v3 and can use the all in one installer. Best bet is to actually check with the helpdesk and they can confirm for you. If that is the case I think you just redownload and apply your v3 activation. One of these will get your version updated. The monitor is likely a whole other issue, I would run that by the helpdesk as well though a kind soul here who is familiar with that issue might have an answer for you.
  10. One what... wait don't answer that, this is a family friendly site.
  11. What? Is Orion displayed incorrectly? Damn it, the game is broken!
  12. I'm a layman. At least I have been told that. Seriously I am not disagreeing with you that there are folks that will be confused. I just think that is ALWAYS the case. Question is - is it a lot of people or a couple of one offs that are easily corrected. In my world in IT that is kind of how we evaluate effort. Do I spend an inordinate amount of time to try to catch every possible case or do I just put in the effort to catch say 90% and figure the trade off of that 10% is they are far less work than trying to catch them by spending too much effort on the front end. kind of like that other thread going on about the naming of the file. One guy had some difficulty and a couple other people agree with him. That's it. Whether BFs naming convention is the best or not doesn't really matter if in the end result it is only concerning to a small handful. Those folks are easily handled either on the forum or helpdesk while BF goes and works on the next items they want to release. You don't stop what you are doing to address an item that 3 people care about and yet that is what they have essentially demanded and Steve has finally conceded on just to end the thread. It is really a poor use of BFs time and yet these folks feel their issue is the one thing BF needs to stop and address right now.
  13. Well not much to help you there as there have been so many threads and descriptions of the installation of CMSF2 that if you haven't been able to get it from that, likely there is simply no way without calling you up on your phone personally and saying - "hey you know how to install CMSF2 right.. " that BF could get your attention.
  14. we are headed for a lock on this if we do not change direction. If that happens I will blame the Assyrians.
  15. I have swapped out units quite often in scenarios to create different kinds of match ups. It is a little time consuming but pretty easily do able. My suggestion - do not delete the old unit. Use it to determine placement of new unit reinforcement and AI slots. Once complete then delete the old unit.
  16. I don't understand why you guys keep stating this. Steve has already confirmed they are not removing Syrian air assets. Steve agrees with you.
  17. Probably just an issue that the scenario needs to be converted by CMSF2 when saved. The ToE of the formation in the scenario is from CMSF1 and has likely been changed in CMSF2. There are limits to what the game can do with a scenario created in essentially a different game. Have you tried deleting the formation and adding it back in? That is typically what we had to do in correcting scenarios to update them for CMSF2.
  18. Asking for feature adds now is highly unlikely. Especially to this degree, but on the other hand BF has no intention of removing Syrian air assets. As to the S400 capability. So far they haven't shown themselves to have much impact on the Israelis. They are also outside scope of a game set in 2008. Syria didn't get them until 2015.
  19. Really? You think that would be a problem?
  20. Just a portrait issue, has no impact on gameplay. There seem to be a couple which our man on the spot - Mord - is tracking
  21. Have you opened a ticket with the helpdesk? They can probably give you better guidance. Most instances like this are caused by something running in the background, sometimes something totally unexpected. CM itself is pretty darn stable so more than likely you have a conflict with another program.
