  1. Played my first CW scenarion with British airborne troops. What struck me as a bit strange was that HQ units are assigned PIATs. It's not like you will have HQ units hunting tanks or halftracks, right? Wouldn't it be more proper to have squads on the front line have the PIATs instead? Or was this some kind of prestige thing that the highest ranking soldiers had the biggest guns?
  2. Yep, a lesson learned just one time. Once a tank parked 5 m behind a zook-team with a forward arc. They didn't even notice or hear (!) it. And then promptly got blown to smithereens.
  3. Thank God for back-ups. All hail the new hard drive, may it live long and prosper!
  4. The man takes notice to the doctor's orders and stops moving his arm, then promptly dies from a hidden ailment. Somehow, this tactic works for me, even though long range fire has little effect, but it does have some effect - as does area fire. I don't want the game to stop me from going about the battle the way I intend, if it comes to what should be a simple thing - to get ammo from fallen soldiers.
  5. What I meant was after using their own ammo, they will need more. If you use area fire a lot and manually target units at long range, ammo tends to get scarce, even in smaller scale scenarios.
  6. But, what sometimes happens is that your front line platoons are almost wiped out (for example artillery) and when you bring in your reserves to the fight they will need a lot of ammo, and not being able to pick up small arms ammo from your fallen comrades makes no sense to me.
  7. Ok, thanks, I get it - I assumed that passengers in a jeep/truck had their own icon.
  8. I'm currently playing "UK Loamshires vs. Hannovarians" and there is a Brit unit called "1 section Assault" and consists of 5 guys in a jeep. However, there is only a vehicle icon and none for the unit, and they cant dismount. You can tell they have demo charges, so I guess I might need them, but sitting in that jeep all day makes them useless. I'm I missing something obvious or this some sort of bug?
  9. Looks great. One minor bug. The artillery icon switches between the new one and the old one when an artillery mission is underway (yellow flashes).
  10. Agree, or when a tank pops smoke and I KNOW it is behind that smoke screen, but I can't fire a pot shot through it.
  11. I've been thinking the exact thing myself - the load time seems like forever, even for small scale scenarios.
  12. As long as it ends with love - it is good
  13. Or there might be a manual override switch on her back
  14. 20 hours more - on a single vehicle! Man Fuser, the hours you pour into making your excellent mods for the community is astounding. It makes me humble and wish I had the skills to make mods to repay all you guys that make an already excellent game soooo much better.
  15. That tends to happen too - all to frequently, as I tend to forget that a knocked out burning tank in fact is a weapon of mass destruction But it is one of the features of CMBN i like the most, that it is modelled.
  16. I've had that happen too. Couldn't believe how unlucky that was.
  17. Imagine if someone could make a graphics mod looking like that.
  18. Possible spoilers******************** In the briefing it states a bit vaguely that you, as the german player, need to keep the exit open for coming units. Are those the units that appear as reinforcements supposed to exit for points and/or stay to fight, or is this considered to be coming units not in the scenario? The point table in the tactical map says nothing about exit points, but the area is marked on the map. Just want to make sure before comitting to a plan.
  19. Looks good. Maybe a more tuned down green hue on the leaves, since they are dead and been on the helmet for a while. Perhaps a more dried look.
