  1. I, too, would like to see period rank insignia for the US for once. Otherwise: VERY nice effort - can't wait for it! It willt ake me some time to combine it with other UI mods I'm currently using, though...
  2. Besides, do we really want to start an opponent thread to the Peng Challenge?
  3. Sad thing is she usually beats me in about everything we play, especially when I bring home new wargames for her to try with me.
  4. In Franken ist auch noch nichts angekommen; aber ich glaube, miene ist auch ein ganzes Stück später verschickt worden. Falls sich diese Woche nichst tut, hake ich aber mal nach...
  5. So what - my wife is an avid gamer as well and also happens to play SOME wargames (sadly CM isn't her thing). And she can ientify most German tanks by just looking at them. Is it really that bad that we need a women around here? Next thing you know is they want a "Women Only" area, decorate everything with Kitty stuff and constantly reprimand us for our bad manners.
  6. Difficult - the only thing one can do is fiddling with the alpha channels on the texture to make the foliage less dense... If that'd look like something is another question, though.
  7. Technically, there already IS weathering on the German vehicles. But because it IS subtle you don't notice it unless you look closely. Having a sand base color doesn't exactly help...
  8. Question: Does this mod have Zimmerit? I know that's a REAL pain to do (and sometimes drives people mad even!), but all Panthers would have had a Zimmerit coating and I think it just belongs there.
  9. It IS on GAJ's website: http://cmmods.greenasjade.net/mods/2516/details - happy modding! There are, of course, different ways to apply camouflage - overspray for example is pretty difficult and time-consuming to do with Mike's method, so you need to find another solution (like I did with the StuH (mid)). In case of doubt, just ask and someone will help you.
  10. You don't happen to have done some mods for CoH, do you? I think I have seen that one before...
  11. Especially when the Eastern Front module will start in '44 with Bagration...
  12. There also are a lot of German vehicles still missing due to the very same reason - not available in greater numbers before September.
  13. OUTST... er... rageous...??? Why is it that everywhere this "Kitty" stuff always comes first?
  14. That is theoretically possible, but you'd have to take pictures at a more or less perfect 90° angle, else you'll end up redoing most of the picture by hand. But is possible. Whats on your mind - got an idea?
  15. Mikey, good point. Theyd be dusty as hell alright (which they more or lss already are - you just don't see it very well because of the light base color!), but not very rusty. Oh, and German tanks would NEVER EVER have a blackened muzzle brake when not in combat - those were cleaned after each engagement because leaving the all the soot and stain there would degrade the muzzle brake's efficiency and damage the barrel in the long run. Another one of these "Urban Panzer myths" so to speak...
  16. Guessed as much... Well, as far as I know there ever was only ONE such pattern. The variation your efer to either comes from different manufacturers (not sure if there was more than one) or simply through wear - if modern-day replicas of said uniforms are even remotely close to the quality in WW2, those colors tend to wash out/bleach pretty fast.
  17. Oh if you only knew how long it takes to properly weather even one CMBN vehicle... But please, go ahead and do a proper weathering job on the German stuff - would be nice to see what others are capable of...
  18. What's a "green pea" pattern? Never heard of that one before...
  19. Is that so? Anyway, the Tiger's abse textures were done by Kwazydog, Mikey only camouflaged them, so most of the credit belongs elsewhere. Would be nice if Kwazydog released his templates, though...
  20. Now imagine a few Kursk or OP Citadel scenarios - only with MODERN tanks, IFVs and air support. That's something I'd like to see...
  21. Yes, that'd pretty nice although I can spot some insignia that ususally weren't worn on that uniform and others that often WERE worn. Good job for your first CMBN attempt!
  22. Actually, I still AM a modder and it was my modding skills that got me the job. But it's nice to get some recognition from time to time. Thanks, guys!
  23. That Bovington Tiger actually is an Ausf. H and saw action in Africa. In CMBN we have Ausf. E Tigers. It is VERY likely, though, that most vehicles wen to the front in plain yellow, to be camouflaged by their crews as circumstacnes dictated. That even was the official oderr and is the reason why we're seeing so many different camouflage patterns duing '43 and '44.
  24. Either way we don'T HAVE A Zeltbahn portrayed, so we can only retetxure the standard field uniform. Those were worn, but usually custom-made (for obvious reasons). Nice example here: http://www.axishistory.com/index.php?id=4652
  25. You're weclome. It's too bad ther's so much misinformation dsitribured on the net... Should you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask, I do know a bit about German stuff. ;-)
