    how is naming those groups a denigrating label? I didnt say that was all that comprised the GOP. however every group mention is pro trump and in say david dukes case trump refused to disavow his support.
    second no, its more like a third of the US.
    Trump very well may win in November, it doesnt change its a biarre coalition of single issue voters that normally would hate eachother.

    Many of those labels are denigrating (at least in my view), not all.  And they aren't inaccurate.  Anti abortion folks will most likely vote for Trump and that is their own label which they are proud of.  Anti immigration, same deal.  2nd amendment types - again it is a label they wear proudly and represents what they consider to be a strong voting litmus test.
    Granted they may not like being lumped in with KKK and Neo Nazis (who also proudly wear their labels) but that is factually correct and is something to consider when you are trying to understand what the person you are voting for represents. qanon conspiracy types? - Trump retweets their stuff all the time.
    This is the coalition of groups that support Trump.  If you don't like being lumped in with all those groups I'd suggest reconsidering your vote.  I am sure there are plenty of labels for folks who support Biden, but I doubt I'll be totally freaked out about being lumped in with them.

    Probably... but that rarely seems to detract Banks or mega-corporations. The Fed has purchased one and a half trillion dollars worth of stocket assets already (and, obviously, will purchase a lot more)... it seems to me that some small business relief would be far less than that.
    As an aside I always find it odd how people only become "Fiscally Conservative" when discussing helping the middle/working class.

    As to the "wheelbarrows of doom", no-one is advocating that a foreign power defeats the US in a war & steals the US gold reserves... well okay some are... but very few.

    Either way, somebody has to unlock their country first & conduct a mass-experiment with re-infection & viral loads & HIV-like spikes and mysterious strokes/heart attacks & all the other stuff we don't understand yet.
    If the US wants to do that first... I'm kinda okay with that (at the very least it appears the US strain is less dangerous the European one).

    This may belong in an already open thread, in which case my apologies for starting an unnecessary one, but I am pressed for time at the moment and can't spend a lot here yet. But I did want to bring friends and colleagues up to date.
    On December 20th. I suffered a fall which fractured my upper right arm and had to spend the next three months in a nursing facility more or less incommunicado. I only arrived back home Monday and am scrambling to pick up where I left off. I had for instance 751 emails waiting for me which I have so far only managed to put a small dent in.
    Anyway, expect to hear more from me in the future. For some inexplicable reason, I missed you guys.

    It is important to keep in mind that Harry is really reviewing GTOS.  Most of the community is not playing that, but GTMF (aka Mius).  GTMF was released in 2016.  Originally, the two were quite a bit closer than today.  I am no expert, but some obvious differences are:
    * A better UI
    * Improved mechanics
    * Improved performance (see below)
    * Improved orders simulation
    * WEGO for the campaign map or the older TBS (but still less gamey).
    * More statistics
    * Battle groups (although in most cases; most content has a BG version and a platoon version).  BGs reduce micro-management.
    * Improved mission builder (no map editor; no campaign editor)
    Harry does mention this above, but it important to note that most of the community has moved on to GTMF and if you were buying, you would buy GTMF and not GTOS.  What are SABOW and TUNISIA?  They are 1st/3rd person tank simulations using the GTOS and GTMF engines respectively.
    * So, buying GTOS is like buying CMBO/CMBB/CMAK ... for sure great games.
    * Most would buy CMBN/CNFI/CMRT/CMFB these days ... or correspondingly GTMF.
    Finally, if you would buy/play CM than you would buy/play GTOS or GTMF.  If you would buy play Steel Beasts, then you would buy/play SABOW/TUNISIA.
    NOTE:  I am very impressed by the programming (as a software engineer) of these games.  They do a lot work and display beautiful graphics - VERY SMOOTHLY.  Over the last 40 years, the art of performance programming has been lost.  Why?  Hardware became cheap and people expensive.  But clearly whoever does the coding is "old school".  So, how can the newer program run better?  GTOS is 32 bit, and GTMF is 64 bit.  For a game, this means much more of the textures and models can be loaded and decompressed before launch.  I believe the program uses multiple cores, but nothing like a chess engine which scales linearly based on cores.
    The games are not CM competitors and the style and feature sets are not subset/superset and only minimally overlap.  It is mainly about you personally and how you like to game.  Although I will say that the CM UI is more intuitive, much better documented, and there is a larger community of English speakers to help.  However, given the current size of the English speaking GTMF community and some excellent YouTube materials, both games are NOW much more approachable than say in 2014 (GTOS).

    Don't worry. Elizabeth tells me that Mr and Mrs Axeman have gone off to Allhallows-on-mud, for their holidays, so you are safe for the time being. In the meantime I have more important things to attend to. As if the "Short Parliament" wasn't bad enough, I have the "Idiot Parliament" to worry about.
    Opens my window out on to St.Jame's to catch the strains of John  E. Lenin and the Toronto Beat Boy's singing "All we are saying, is string Johnson up". Not that I am one to advocate Regicide, in any way shape or form.

    It's a long running joke.
    Put simply, since the Dictatorship of the Semi-literate was established in May 1979 by President Murdoch of the Antipodes, and his puppets Lord and Lady Insidertraders of Burmah, it has become a crime to think for oneself, or to speak English well in this country. People who use words like "British" are regularly burnt at the stake on a pyre made from copies of The Grauniad, with a sign reading "I used a long word" around their necks. Even historians are forced to use the phrase "Romano-Brits", failure to comply lands them a one way ticket to Tyburn.
    And "Brit" isn't the same as calling a Septic Tank a "Yank". Limey is.

    There was/is a guy with a superb Arnhem only site, but I can't find it. Believe he published at lest one book, too. Does anyone recall the site name or URL?  While on my failed search, I came across this one, which is full of information, including documents, letters and beautiful color side views of the armor used. Smaller weapons are covered, too.

    Of course the number of computer gamers who care about WW2 or modern tactical sims that attempt to be realistic is probably also in the "low single digit range".
    That doesn't mean that there aren't enuff of us who appreciate what dedicated folks like Sgt S and MOS are attempting to do "re-imagining/re-energising" the CM2 game system to make the effort worthwhile.  Should be encouraged imo.

    I didnt think it would as its a legit thing in the GDF forum.  Its not a sale - someone is *gifting* a key.  Feel free to report me friend. I did *think* and I disagree with your opinion frankly.  I never in my 20 years posting here have sold anything or acted like anything was a swap meet. Nor have I propagated posts where people sell legal or illegal stuff.
    This is a WW2 sim that someone is *gifting* keys out to people who are enthusiastic but may have financial difficulties.  If many including you my friend hadnt gifted me stuff in the past Id never have played RT onwards.
    All due respect to you.

    Ok so the decoys are useful. I sank 3 ships. Mission one. I wish the messages vectoring you to targets wouldnt always say the ship has important tech.  Saying ships spotted amd giving it a random U number or source would be fine?
    Anyways anither mission but this time a convoy.  3 ships down.  2 escorts hunt me for 2 hours.  The deciys allow my escape. Then CTD. fml I hadnt even saved new game.  I doubt it autosaves. Oh well Im done for today time to go fly around in Il2

    Ok i noticed little things like repairs etc and discplining crew Ill see a little +25 exp pop and disappear near relevant crew member.
    Discipline incidents Ive seen - burning scrambled eggs x4
    Sleeping on duty x1
    My issue though is theres no real reason to get draconian except for imagination purposes.  Youll NEVER have morale problems until they fix this unless its intwntional - just make sure you have a couple diff typesof food in cooks station.  Its like +60 morale.. Ridiculous.  I read somewhere even same food in different spots does it.
    Apparently my discipline menu works but.. Alas ... I dont see the point. For example Im notating in my log whose being a coward.  I give the bad asses pipes hehe.
    Let me see.  Otherwise... Throwing those sheets I just woke up throwing those on the ventilator helps with keeping the oxygen.
    Your aware of the control room device that pings the ocean floor right? One does it very quietly and you dont risk your positiom.
    For XP otherwise go to menu, then management.  Select yhe crew.  After a mission or two especiay your officers youll note may have a 2 instead of a 1. Even sometimes witb 1s I think - pick your officers amd if they have tge points to spend it gives you 2 options per phase and depends on their job.  For example engineers can get better at repairs or making spare parts.
    Also the favor thing and messing with crew recruitment I got a 6th officer ASAP.  Do you know if selecting his job fron the drop down really matters (or is it just what he reverts to autonatically)
    What exactly does ALT do?  Tab works great to pop a wondow ans give orders.  That N tip was priceless buddy.  Anything else on ur end?  Any other ?s

Starting first sandbox.  For early access im very impressed and I like a lot of things.  Im really hopeful here. Right now Id honestly recommend anyone woth Uboat interestto get it if they can - once modded Im sure itll be grog enough as is its pretty decent and groggy. Nothing stood out to me as flagrant bs

    I was dismayed to see unobtrusive but still there health meters under ship names in streams. But its still EA and Im certain thatll be modded out if nothing else first.  That or hackenkreuzes get my guess for the first things to be modded lol.
    Still - everything else really has me sold.  Ive seen it streamed now where it was 1941 and also right before the war in sept 2 39 and a mission was appropriate to right before the war commences with the west. Ive seen some other missions.  The rest of the stuff - even now if the bugs are fixed and moddable the game would have a good future.
    The fact its still EA? Im very very hopeful. I could be totally wrong but Ill let everyone know in the next week as Para will too Im sure.  I know Im also excited at the abilities to grow your crew. I loved building and managing my crew in SH3 and that was very abstract your crew is much more visible/real to you in this.  Also the side view etc was what really what drew me but even the first person etc doesnt look bad at all.
    Also I have to say - HMS on steam thats in beta looks really cool though definitely history lite.  Same with an aircraft carrier game.. Ill have to dig up the name it looked good but also history lite - I did see some errors historically but it looked cool in a damage management sort of way.  Ill probably pass but the HMS game looked more interesting and Id add that only looked history lite at a glance more due to what the ship size I saw looked like.  Of course that could change or be a concession to how staggeringly big modelling a true ship of the line would be in cutout view.
