Yeah... but its still a great movie.. where else can you watch a whole bunch of Sherman tanks roll off. It will make me enjoy the first release that much more, knowing that greater things are on the horizon.

Well Holy Jesus! no game this week means another Marathon of Band of Brothers, Saving Ryans Privates, and "A bridge too Far" That should hold me over till Saturday. Then I will start with the "World at War" series....

I think you really need to look at the real cause of WWII before you go spouting out like that, I have talked to many German, Hungarian, US vets.... none came accross how you described. How about starting in WWI... Germany the villans then to, who only came to the AID of its ally the Austro-Hungarians.... it was Winston Churchill IMHO the warmnonger who wanted war with Germany because it was possible to take all of Germanies Colonies then.... have you thought about that scenerio? What if it was your country who lost everything to help out a friend in need... would you not want your territory and pride back? just saying there is more to the German SOLDAT then bloodthirsty personality. Crap.. I could go on and on but that would start a whole new thread, not going to happen because this is about CM Normandy and not political crap. I have no guilt at all playing as the Germans. The germans were and are good people, they were just misled and it cost them dearly. But I think they were justified in getting their rightful territory back. What about now.... Do you not think the Hungarian people are still upset in giving alot of their best territory away to Romania etc.?? I can tell you from talking to the people, that they dislike their Romanian neighbors immensly and feel they have been ill treated.

I also think the Tank in the middle has a grey steel bucket attached to the rear part of the decklid. It would be nice if you could add a divisional marking at the very least to your units.... although in the later stages of the war, tactical markings were not at present as much as in the earlier years.

Say Chris said I think (There were lots of explosions) that the Pioneer Halftrack with the bridging equipment will not be available in release? Is that correct and why? Anyone know? I thought it was cool to see a completely authentic looking Sd.Kfz. 251/7 "Pionierpanzerwagen" It would be a real shame if engineering halftracks looked like regular sdkfz. 251/1. I was hoping to see more of a variety in this new release of CM Normandy.

The first thing I will probably due is to acclimate myself to CMNormandy. Its been awhile since I even played SF... so will spend the first day messing around. After that I plan on making some great maps around the St. Lo, Carentaan area. After that I plan on creating some missions I can "link" together, wether they are defensive or offensive. I would like to use the Waffen SS, but they wont be available till later, so I will make do with the Panzer Lehr Division. I get pretty detail writing down all the casualties so as not to use them in the "Next phase" of my little miniseries. After about a week or so of playing the Germans I plan to play the Americans and have fun punching Rhino Tanks through the Bocage, hopefully with no AT gun or Panther on the other side waiting.

I am pre-ordering Friday!!! Dang.. I need to know release so I can take a week of for vacation...!!

Ok I cant wait.... I mean I will but watching the video on Utube I want to see more. So far from what I see the equipment and everything look Awesome.. Questions: 1. Will the British Para's have accurate Uniforms with the Denison smock? 2. Will there be Royal Marines and Commandos? 3. Will there be different smocks for the Elite Heer Divisions, namely Panzer Lehr. 4. Will the Waffen SS formations be a mix of 44 Dot Pattern and The Waffen SS smocks to resemble both Fall and Spring. 5. Will the US Para formations reflect different uniforms then regular GI's. As in CMAK/CmBB you could distinguish for example Luftwaffe personell from the Heer by their uniforms... well done! loved both of those games. Anyways I think I know a few of those will be yes.. but I am so excited, you just want to keep knowing more about the details. Thanks

I was watching the video and I was amazed that a buttoned up tank was spotting infantry behind the Hedgrow with little difficulty... I could understand the tank firing if there was movement, or the infantry fired at the tank, but its not BFSForce where the tanks have Thermal sites?? Just a little concerned about ambushing Tanks.

Just a question but will there be more vehicles added later, to provide more depth and flavour to the game. example: US 3/4 ton truck German Horch (Larger then the Kublewagen and could actually carry about 8 men total) German Horch 108 Type 1A UK Otter UK AEC Command Car Will there be any fluff vehicles at all? Ambulance Radio vehicles I know that they really do not mean much, but for scenerio designs etc they could be used as victory points etc? Probably not going to happen but I thought I would just throw that out there. As single vehicles they add just a tad of more emmersion... but I will not complain if I dont see them. However the Horch does add more to German Recon elements even if it was a mixed platoon between the Horch and Kublewagen. After all, the 1.5 ton Horch from (Auto union) was amongst one of the most common multi purpose vehicles... Just like the US have their MG Jeeps, could we not see a Horch with MG42? Again they were the most common on all fronts. I guess you could always rename the vehicle, but then you would not see the brilliant detail of your artitsts etc.

I knew in CMx1 you can have battle damaged buildings, or ones on Fire... LOL Since Fire is not really modeled yet does any of the Beta testors or Admins know if there are verying degrees of battle damaged buildings? Also will damaged also be modeled with Bridges, or do we simply just not finish a bridge to give the impression that it has been destroyed? I am just anxious to begin some beautiful artwork.... LOL the Editor is my canvas... Semper Fi.

So let me see if I have this right... In the TOE you will have vehicles such as with the Mortar element? Can you add more trucks per say to get more Ammo? And another question, depending on which part of the TOE you have on the map, is the ammo random or how does that work?

I have never heard of a "Steiner" vehicle. could it be a nickname for studabakers? Between Opel, Horsch, Mann, Busenag, Mercedes, Krupp Protze, captured Fords, and Steyr. So my guess is he would be referring to a Steyer, calling it a Steiner possibly, its also possible the Author has it wrong.

I have been a loyal customer of Battlefront since their first bloody game... like many others that think the same way, I highly doubt the folks of Battlefront would want any harm or malicious content on anyones system.. and I am pretty sure they have worked this out with whatever vendor they have chosen. It is only their intent Iam sure that they would keep a happy loyal fanbase and purchasers of their products. I respect your concern but I highly doubt anything malicious would ever happen to your system via Battlefront, and who they work with.

So I have a question for any of the Beta testors or Admin... or bascially anyone in the Know! Can tanks go through Walls? Halftracks etc make holes in walls... Like the Canadians did when they ambushed Wittmann? Also are there Special Buildings in the editor? Example different types of Churches, like St. Mere Eglise? What about Manor Homes, large Estate buildings, and Farms?

Ahh right. yes that is too bad. Well maybe one day but I will take whatever we get happily.

Nice.. that you got it working, I dont smoke so really have no use for them except for the sentimental factor that they were given to me by my Uncle. Mine are locked away, not sure who I would pass them on to in my demise... LOL as they have only been in hands of Vetrans. Only my good friend whom I have known since the 7th grade would be worthy.. LOL. I will try and upload pictures later. The Lighters also have the name of maybe where they served etc. Its been awhile since I looked at them, but I know one for sure has the skull Flash on it. like the attached photo.

Nice Lighter... I have 2 from my Uncle who served in Vietnam, both are marked from the 5th Special forces group... I will have to upload Photos.. they are old as hell but not old as yours.

Say anyone remeber this game... Panzer Blitz... just saw it at a second hand store for 23.00. I may get it just for sentimental factors. LOL Oh yeah.. anyone know how to upload pictures so they are not thumbnails..

@Daveyjj Yeah I Marathoned Band of Brothers and Saving Private Ryan Last weekend... I have the "Pacific" as well, but its not the same as Band of Brothers. Awesome series adn really well done. I heard there was a German film that came out that was similar.. cant bloody think of the name though. Stalingrad was good for that Italian feel and imersian into the Russian Steppes and house to house fighting.. but was rather depressing.

Geesh! wow what a subject. I just want to say as a German-American that the Poles and many other "inter-national" forces fought bravely.. some were harshly treated by the british and Soviet Union. The Poles really did have a huge impact on the Allies in the number of troops it brought to the table after the fall of France... which was a good thing. They also had 4 Squadrons worth of Aircraft. They took Monte Cassino in Italy only probably because the British Command did not want to see his troops chewed up any more then they already got... so the Polish with everything to prove, took it and raised the Polish Flag. They were also brutaly spent by the Soviet Union who let the the German Forces anhilate them almost before the Soviet Union came in to mop up what was left. Although it is FACT that they fought UNDER UK COMMAND, it is without a doubt that they fought not for the British, but for their Homland and their brothers and sisters... it was a shame that the Allies did not respond sooner in 1939 and come to their aid when they needed it most.
