  1. I looked over the chapter in the guide that concerns AI and sadly must report it is way beyond me. I'm not the programming type :-)
  2. I used to make scenario for CM but I haven't in many years. Since CM2 came out. Today I was browsing the repository and not finding a lot of scenarios, the idea popped into my head I'd make my own in the weekend and share it. But the next thought that came into mind after was: 'oh no, I can't figure the AI stuff' and I remembered that was what stopped from making a scenario last time too, a few years back. Just thought you'd like to know :-)
  3. I love it so far - it really seems like a whole other game. good job guys.
  4. Yes it is very good. Am playing atm. I wish there were more campaigns where you play Germans.
  5. Great AAR! Which scenario exactly is this? Would like to play it, yeees :-)
  6. There is a review here (www.eurogamer.dk) of the new DLC in Achtung Panzer: Operation Star, Sololovo 1943. Mentions Combat Mission too. 7. I just read an article about the Cholm ASL scenario pack and that got me thinking about whether there is a 'cauldron' campaign for CMBN? It would have to play out on the same map (a big one), several battles with the same German forces trapped inside. I don't know if it is possible to do with the current campaign system in CMBN. I have no idea how it works, but maybe a talented scenario designer could creatively use the branch system that I have seen Fieldmarchal Blucher is using in his excellent Descent and Hoffnung campaigns, like if you own this victory location, the next battle will have the following victory locations and x forces and then copy paste those into a long series of branching scenarios that are essentially the same but with steadily diminishing German forces... Does this make sense to anyone? :-)
  8. I know, there was no easy solution to it in CM terms, nor in narrative terms, unless the author wanted to go for a stalemate which would have been realistic enough. Here's a plug on MSN's gaming blog: http://gamingzoneblog.msn.com/dk/blogpost.aspx?post=521935e6-6278-473a-b795-79c3698ad5b5
  9. Hi Patrick, This was a very enjoyable 200 mins. Well done! A little feedback (without spoilers): narratively speaking, I think it was a bit awkward (for lack of a better word) to introduce a completely new player in the next-to final sequence like that. It somewhat ruined the nice build-up of tension and character you managed throughout. I say somewhat because it is still an incredibly entertaining movie you made there. Thanks for sharing.
  10. Maybe not, but my feeling is that there are many sites who don't have people who actually play wargames. Which makes it difficult to do a proper review. It's not necessarily 'bad will' against BFC or anything like that.
  11. Maybe. I had some incoming arty, and I then bailed the crew from the gun to seek cover in a nearby building. When they returned to the gun they wouldn't re-man the gun.
  12. Beauty is the eye of the beholder :-) http://www.eurogamer.dk/articles/2011-05-25-combat-mission-battle-for-normandy-review-anmeldelse Google translate: http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=auto&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.eurogamer.dk%2Farticles%2F2011-05-25-combat-mission-battle-for-normandy-review-anmeldelse The translation is a little wonky at times, but you'll get the gist :-)
