  1. The Icon for the German Tac plane changes from the Ju-87 Stuka, to the FW-190. Not sure about the US model yet.
  2. Just in case you want to play this Campaign, its pretty much one sided in favor of the allies. My only complaint besides getting my but kicked as Axis is the fact that someone did not do some research. The Brits did not have Sherman tanks until Oct, 1942. However in this campaign you run up against them in Summer-August of 1941. I feel the Need for some editing!
  3. I agree, they cost alot, range is mediocre unless you spend the MPP for Long range. I think you also have to look at the fact that its being bombarded for a period of time.. not one day. Think of the Icon as an entire wing or Division of Aircraft... 300-500 planes.
  4. Well Im not one either Retributar. I was just coming up with some sort of analogy. I think that in the D-Day settings for the Rangers should be of Elite Status Special forces Icons, as well as some of the Royal Marines. Oh by the way Retributar, I do WWII Reanactments, so I hope your not offended if Im one of the bad guys.... but hey.. someones got to be or who would the allies shoot at..
  5. Dang this is pretty sweet. its like Axis and Allies on Steroids. Would be super sweet getting it for WaW!! yeah, nice job guys. Juergen
  6. I agree with you all here. The scenerio is abit insane. I then went to the editor, and realized that The Germans could use some more equipment coming in periodicaly by using the editor, as stated by pzgdr. For example, when the 1st SS LAH entered the fray, they should come in at ELITE status. not sure if you can make them elite in the editor, but if you can then you should. More examples would be the Herman Goering, Grossduetchland, 2nd SS, and 3rd SS PzKorps. all should be Elite. Anyways I hope it works out for you, I find myself using the Editor alot, as I think the Developers have somewhat givin the Axis a disadvantage in most of the scenerios.
  7. I have to agree with some of the issues here. The Italians should at least start with a Panzer unit. That would have been the expereinced "Ariete" Division, which I believe was given that name after 1940 early. The Italians had around 1400 AFV by early 1941, including SP guns, and artillery. They also had around 300+ Armored cars. Their Airforce was small, but equiped with some of the finest planes of WWII. So to edit Italy in the begining may due justice for Italy. Their small arms were crap, and their Armored forces never really matched up to the Allies, but they did have Tanks. Also their Regia Auronautica with the help of the Luftwaffe destroyed 200+ships in the Med, and the Italian Airforce shot down over 2500 aircraft. Just my 5 Cents.
  8. We can talk about stats all day untill were all blue in the face.... wether you get your intell from Allied or Post Axis reports. In the end unless you were there it dont mean a damn thing.. you can crunch numbers all you want.. all were edited for propaganda. and as far as the 300 spartans with the 1000+ force of Thespians.. they were still outnumbered and I was abreiviating for those that have not researched that particular battle with the Persians. Even though the Thespians and Spartans lost that battle, man for man they had a better kill ratio, due to training and tactics.
  9. Many well posted information already. When I am outnumbered which is most of the time.. and using Stug's or PZ IV/70 I will always put them in ambush positions e.g. 1. on the reverse slope, using the low silohete and putting them in "hide Mode" (camoflauge) 2. Using infantry to spot the movement of their armor and shadow them if you have Panzerfaust as armor has a difficult time seeing infantry units. Supress and button up their armor with mg fire, this will also pause the enemy and allow you options. 3. waiting till the enemy either gets close about 500-600m and using suprise with infantry support with AT rifles to mostly supress or imobilize their armor... (maybe), and AT guns and different angles from your positioned armor. hopefully firing at their weak sides, rear and side facing. 3A. if they are moving directly towards your hidden armor, then I wait until they get close to my other support units.. e.g infantry and flanking AT. guns, and open up with smoke rounds, and everything I have, at the same time use option 4 if really outnumbered. 4. smoke is good, if you have a mortar, you can retreat while lying smoke and hopefuly get a better angle of attack. 10. I never said they had to win... however they iflicted more casualties then they recieved.. even if they were wiped out.
  11. no doubt.... Corvidae. As to the post by Pamak1970 "The bigger side in the engagement (not nessesesary in theater or area of operations) ,has an advantage in inflicting more causalties to the smaller one . That is accepted both in military operations theory and it is backed up by historical experience." Yes theoritcialy, however look at the many engagements were tactical training superceeded numbers. 300 Spartans totaly outnumbered vs Persians 480 BC. The many times the Romans were outnumbered by their enemies..and still won the field. Germans in the East Front, Africa, West Front. US and Coalition in Iraq Numbers do not mean that you will win, especialy in todays Military theories. Numbers helps but History proves that with a skilled stratagist, you can bleed their numbers.
  12. Yes that would be nice... Gordon Atkins made a good point about GNBNA, that was a great game! I know MNB WWII at sea will be a good game to, however extremely different to GNBNA. I hope some day someone will develope a game similar to GNBNA but with Meditereanean Options...and of course really nice graphics.
  13. Copy that Zmoney.. I thought all my skills went out the window.. Knew there must be something.. Thanks for the assist!
  14. Well I extracted the files, and tried to view in landscape.. and nothing.. .nothing but lines. Oh well.
  15. Cool thanks.. cant believe I have not asked in all these years..
  16. Say does anyone have any data on the Defence ratings that Bunkers, Pill box's, Building, stone, wood, or Forest. Its obvious that a stone building or Bunker is better than a wood home or haning out in forest, or a foxhole-trench.. but was curious if there is a book or defence rating for each. just curious.
  17. I agree "Fog of War" is a real wrench in all of these statisctics. And reading on Unit histories is a great way to learn what happend... allbeit from a reliable source. Unlike Wikepedia where they never mention 12SSHJ but list others...Blah! Sources.. sources sources.. its amazing that people cant even read history right. Michael Reynolds books about the ISS PzKorps, and the IISS PzKorps are great, especialy coming from a Brit. I think he is objective and to the point. Good read, talks about both sides, but more from the perspective of his books objectives.
  18. There main page bro... main page.. not forum. If anyone went to the main page to see if there was a CMC. nada. They would have to go to the forums.
  19. I dont think they are going to develop it... and will go with an entirely new Combat mission series using the Theatre of War engine.... better models and graphics. If you look on their main page... CMC is not even shown in their "Under Development List" I think they have bagged it on CMC.. but wont tell us which way they are going. With new games coming out like "Armed assualt" not sure what they have plans for the future in their WWII era series? *shrugs* I would be very disapointed if they have bagged on the CMC game however.
  20. Hello People.. Question.. Is Combat Mission Campaign only for the East front.. or are they going to include the early stages of the war... ie.. Polish, French, CMAK... and maybe even Balkans? Damn that would be sweet.. but I doubt thats going to happen.. just checking though.
  21. Im curious as to all of you readers think of the Author.. Michael Reynolds? He has written many books and I have read nearly all of them. If your not familiar with some of his titles he has written "Steel Inferno" "Sons of the Reich" "Men of Steel" "The Devils Adjutant" These books are mostly about the 1SS and 2SS PzKorps. Just wanted some more opinions if you have read any of his titles. He was a Major General with the British. I think he started off in the "Qweens Royal Regiment" He is said to be an expert in the Battle of the Bulge. I found his books myself very interesting and very informative. If you have not read them.. they are great books.
  22. Well im not discussing my view on what I think needs to be changed for CM anymore, I can live with its current dynamics. Your right I threw something out there without testing it 30 times... maybe 10 or 12... but hey! oh well. And for those of you that are quick to judge people and call them politcal names... just becuase they either like, or respect a Nations engineering skills, you have serious personal problems. And in Reference to Germany in its years the Nazi's were the minority... I have many freinds overseas now and just because Bush is in office does not make them all Republicans.. Thats all have a great weekend. Semper FI
