  1. Okay, but even if I concede that's true, my point still holds.
  2. So who got married? Or will that remain a top secret along with the person who funded CMFI?
  3. Just saying if one wants to see a particular force in the Cold War Family, take a page from what the original Cold War team did and present a complete TO&E for your choice. Any keep you choice within reason, that is to say, a NATO force, preferably one that would fight in western Europe.
  4. Well the USMC has fought in the last 4 US wars without an amphibious invasion, so need to assume they would have to land anywhere in the Black Sea or elsewhere in the fictional conflict in the Ukraine.
  5. Battlepacks are scenario packs, just FYI to people. At least they all have been in the past.
  6. It was probably over 12 years ago now, but I recall after CMSF came out, I asked if the one to one representation of the pixeltruppen made one more psychologically adverse to taking casualties in the game. Steve was one of those who answered yes.
  7. I was hoping someday there might be a CMN module that included the Princess Irene Brigade. Rangers and Commandos for CMN are on my wish list too.
  8. Fiddler on the roof - Tradition ( with subtitles ) - Bing video Still hoping for New Year's Bones
  9. Hi, It's been a while since this has been asked I think, and at one time I believe it was on the development wish list. Anyway for those that don't know, the idea is vehicle decals would allow different vehicles of the same type to have different numbering etc on the vehicles in game. IIRC there were concerns about game performance if this were implemented, but perhaps with todays machines that's no longer a concern. Any chance this may still happen? Thanks
  10. If this series were used, we'd have half the forces already made. I always wondered though, does this series also turn the Germans into good guy? \
  11. Spoilsport here. I know next to nothing about the Ogre franchise but just looking at those AFVs, I think of some of the problems even the Maus would have had. Namely they would be unable to cross most bridges. Some of the bigger ones look like they'd be unable to use most roads, and if they did, they'd tear them up for every vehicle behind them. Do they fire some sort of laser canon? Are they nuclear powered? What's with the big tower with the ball on top? Is that to let everyone know here I am? The maintenance on those things must be a nightmare. Imagine breaking track. They also seem by design to make an air targeting easier. Are all the extra guns pointing up for AA?
  12. A few years back, there was a denial of service attack on the GMT servers. I've pondered what the motive for that was. I never heard if there was a suspect. Of course I am somewhat insinuating here perhaps someone in the PRC did it, but it didn't last long, and again would publishing Next War Taiwan be enough motivation? I asked the designer of the Next War Series why he never did a Next War Ukraine (There is also Next War Korea, Poland and Pakistan). He replied he wanted to work out a good insurgents system first. Also there is Next War Vietnam, in which China (again) tries to capture Hanoi. IMHO if China tries to expand its influence militarily, Vietnam would be the most likely scenario because it would have the least risk of involving the US.
  13. I think its a foregone conclusion that in Battlefront's hypothetical 2008 war in Syria, Syrian is defeated and occupied by NATO forces. I was thinking what happens then? The unfortunate "mission accomplished" sign on the US Carrier when President George W Bush visited after the Coalition overrun of Iraq come to mind. I'm no expert on Syria but some thoughts come to mind (which are probably overly simplistic). Syria is 90% Sunni Moslem, 10% Christian and 3% Druze (I'll let you look up who the Druze are yourself if you don't know) . Of the Sunni however, 10% are of the Alawite branch. The Assad family is Alawite and Alawites dominate the Syrian government and hold key military positions according to Wikipedia. I'm thinking given the less diverse composition of the Syrian population, and given a minority ruling class is replaced by a more diverse democratic government installed by NATO, the likelihood of the post occupation violence that occurred in Iraq would be much less. The later real world civil war in Syria was largely led by non-Alawite Sunnis. Your thoughts?
  14. It was a faction of the Sicilian Mafia whose leader was a Combat Mission fan who put up the cash for Fortress Italy as he wanted to play a game set in his homeland. He was a really good player, proving "Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line" !
  15. Another item. This is a US M728 combat engineer vehicle from the period. I assume it was somewhere in the division Engineer battalion. The main armament is a 165mm M135 short-barreled demolition gun with 30 rounds of HEP (high explosive, plastic) ammunition. I know Batttlefront isn't keen on specialist engineer vehicles. Also I think if they added it, people would expect the dozer blades to work which would require extensive new coding.
  16. The whole universe is just a computer simulation anyway right? Quantum physics proves it. To save on processing power, things aren't rendered until they're observed.
  17. Hi, right, I got where the RPOs fit in. I was asking about the M202A1.
  18. I had to exist somewhere in the TO&E. Or is it part of an asset not in the game?
  19. How can we be sure that's not the evil Steve from the Mirror Mirror universe?
