  1. How does one turn on the "war movie mode"? The options menu would be logical place, but I don't see it there. Edit: I found it in the hotkeys menu. "Alt M" toggles war movie mode shaders on and off.
  2. Refresh . . . refresh . . . refresh . . . refresh . . .
  3. That is sooooo cool. *Jaw drops* You must post that on the repository. You must.
  4. Absolutely. I've been going through the quick battle maps and they are really superb. With so many included I would have expected them to have a slapped-together look, but no, a lot of time was obviously lavished on each and every one of them.
  5. I've twice encountered the problem with the fourth floor of one of the "independent buildings" of the house subtype. The kind that look like narrow apartment buildings. This is on two quickbattle maps. I didn't think to remember exactly which ones. I should have written it down. Oops. The problem doesn't seem to crop up with every instance the building type is used.
  6. I haven't commented, but it's my favorite new feature. Its a tremendous time saver since I tend to litter my maps with hedges, walls, fences and the like . . . and of course roads. "Snap" creating the roads takes a little practice to get good results, and they generally need to be cleaned up a bit to get the angles right, but it's a HUGE improvement. I can make maps in a fraction of the time it used to take. Also, I can spend more of the time on the fun creative aspects of map creation, and less time hunting for the correct tile for some odd piece of fence. Bravo Battlefront!
  7. In all seriousness, when driving I tend to look at the scenery and plot how I would render it using the map editor. I should probably just watch the traffic instead . . .
  8. I love the Pacific war mods, but I can't help but think it would be better to use the Canadians rather than the British as the base on which to build the Japanese. The problem with using the British is that one then cannot model battles between British and Japanese forces, such as in Burma. One is really restricted to US vs. Japanese fighting. The Canadian forces are almost identical to the British, and so the mods already created would transfer over nicely, needing only for the files to be renamed.
  9. Mord's immersive American voices mod is particularly good.
  10. I'm not having any success using this to mod the Luftwaffe units. Could someone specify the exact names to change the various CMBN uniform mods (officer, m43 uniform, m42 helmet etc) to make them work for the Luftwaffe Field Division models? Thank you in advance. -- R
  11. Seriousness, check. Humor, check. Quite an engaging little AAR, or at least the promising beginnings of one. I look forward to reading the rest. Carry on.
  12. Thank you. I appreciate your quick response. Sorry I posted this in the wrong place.
  13. Oh, I have Phil's attention. I'll use that. To answer your question, I don't know. I have Norton. I attempted to turn it off the last time I rebooted in case that was an issue. But I'm not sure how to determine if Norton is the issue. Do you? (Sorry, I'm not very computer savvy)
  14. Oops. I meant to post this in the technical help room. Sorry. Please delete this thread in this location.
  15. I'm having an vexing problem. Yesterday I downloaded CW (preorder) and but when I tried to run the program today, CMBN runs but it "forgets" it has CW loaded. The front screen notes I have version 1.10, but the icon for CW is missing. And none of the CW features appear (units etc.) I reinstalled the CW setup files, and then CMBM/CM worked fine. I then restarted, and CW disappeared again. I don't want to have to reinstall CW every time I run the game. (And I thought I only got 10 installations). What's going on? How do I fix it? Please help.
  16. You get the 1.10 patch without having to buy CW. BFC has announced the patch for CMBN standalone will be out shortly. That said, I recommend CW when your finances improve.
  17. Lots of great stuff on the changelog. I'm especially pleased about the helpful new method for moving flavor objects. For the future, I wonder if a similar technique could be used to place new objects directly on the map while viewing in 3D.
  18. Excellent news! My pioneers have been petitioning the quartermaster for proper uniforms for months.
  19. Would it be too late to mention a bug where two men of every german pioneer squad carry no field equipment and are dressed as assault gun crewmen? Yes? Too late? I thought so. I imagined someone had noticed this before.
