  1. Thanks. I think this might be the first title I don't bother modding, except for sounds. . . . and maybe some new uniforms. I hate those US ones. Who wears greyish-blue in the desert? . . . and your voice going, "aaaaaaaa!!!!!" That would probably be it.
  2. Is it just me, or does SF2 look really nice? I find myself just kinda staring at the screen some times.
  3. The only currently flying six-engine plane I know of is the AN-225, and there is only one of those in the entire world, and it doesn't have propellers. It's highly likely you were simply mistaken.
  4. TL;DR: If North Korea would just stop being North Korea for five minutes, they might get somewhere. Well, the reason North Korea is North Korea, is because they just won't stop being North Korea... It's in the same vein as this argument: The only way Germany could win WW2 was by not being Germany, but because Germany is Germany, they couldn't win WW2.
  5. Once upon a time, I ran a pen-and-paper wargame I designed myself. I often thought about making some CM scenarios and campaigns based on the exploits of my players. I don't think they'd go down too well though, given they'd be completely fictional scenarios with absolutely nonsense force composition, and wildly different TO&E found on either side. That comes with allowing my players to design their own weapons, and not enforcing any nationality limitations, so you'd have battles with a mixture of American, German, and Russian equipment on one side, and British, German, and fictional homemade stuff on the other side.
  6. Most of the time, I use a Target Briefly on the building itself. I have noticed, in CMSF2 at least, tanks are far more likely to sit and hose down a target with coax mg, especially if the target poses no threat to the tank. If it's an AT team, they usually hit them with a few HE rounds double-quick.
  7. It's too bad things like 'Four-Field Crop Rotation' are hideous evil tools of the bourgeoise to oppress the proletariat.
  8. The link was to the now defunct repository, I don't know if the guide has been posted anywhere else. Not being a modder, I didn't think to retain a copy.
  9. That's just some EQ tweaking in Sony Vegas. Mediocrity is my specialty, but it's the good type of mediocre.
  10. How about you folks move the mod discussion to another thread, so we can get back to the 'splosions? GET SOME!!
  11. If my time here on Battlefront has given me one thing, it is an unmeasurable amount of patience, and more than enough experience using it. All good things come to those who wait.
  12. Honestly, I would wait for the Rome to Victory Module, then buy whatever big bundle is sold for CM:FI.
  13. This would be my plan (purely uninformed speculation): 1: CM:FI to end of war. 2: CM:RT to end of war. 3: Unnamed CM:BS Module. 4: CM:FB to end of war. 5: Battle Packs for CM:FI, CM:RT, and CM:FB. 5A: Second Unnamed CM:BS Module. (New Combat Mission Engine Development?) 6: Combat Mission: Korea. (3 Modules: Drive to Pusan - Inchon to Chosan - China and Stalemate) 7: Combat Mission: Blitzkrieg. (3 Modules: Poland - Norway - France and Low Countries) 8: Combat Mission: Weltkrieg 1968.
  14. If he can't access his BIOS settings, booting from an external device won't work unless previously set up in boot options. @Sublime It almost sounds like you need to replace your BIOS chip, or flash it. https://blog.superuser.com/2011/04/03/what-is-flashing-the-bios/ http://hardware-today.com/articles/motherboards/how_to_flash_bios
  15. Devil's Descent was probably the most amount of fun I ever had playing CMBN.
  16. Just in case, remember to give the vehicle the target order, not the troops riding in it. Other than that, ordering them to Open Up works.
  17. I just wanted to chime in and report I too had a fraudulent charge, but only for a 28 dollar Uber bill. My bank's fraud service caught it and froze my account. Just a little reminder you folks might want to go get a copy of your account statements and have a look, just in case.
  18. Your expectations are flawed, and your statement of fact is only an opinion. You seem to think improving the framerate is a goal of game refinement, which is true for things like first person shooters, which rely on high framerates in order to encourage competitive skill-based play and allow players to exercise their reflexes in real time. Combat Mission does not require twitchy reflexes in order to play, so maintaining a high framerate is completely unnecessary.
  19. I see large jumps of between 15-60 depending on how much is on the screen at one time, to how far the camera is zoomed in, to how large and complex the map, flavor objects, and forces present. I especially notice it while recording videos and that often accounts for the particular camera style I use, trying to maintain a high enough framerate for fluid video. Unlike most games, the variations in framerate don't really matter unless they happen to drop below 15 in which case you may get some stuttering in the animations, and if you zoom the camera in and out, or pan quickly, you may notice a slight pause followed by some terrain and textures being re-drawn. This is all completely normal.
  20. Geek Squad might be able to, I guess? I don't know many computer repair places that still operate. You could mail me your USB and PM me directions.
