I know this is an old thread, but was there an official (realism) reason for the change in the number of prisoners? Is it because of the no quarter given on the Eastern Front vice the Kinder Gentler American method of war?

Mine arrived on Dec 3 with rest of them in SoCal, however, comma, the wife grabbed it from the mail and wrapped it for the Christmas tree. Bottom line: I'll be getting mine tommorow. Merry Christmas to All!!!!

I was playing a game and all was fine for 20 mailings. Then on 21, I select Multiplayer, then Load EMail, then select file 21...nothing nada zip. The file selection screen goes away and it just sits there. I retry multiple times no luck. I go back to previous turns all is fine, can rewatch those old turns. I ask my opponent to resend - same results. Then I ask him to replay 20 to recreate the 21 file. He does and resends still no luck. I start a brand new game and send the troop selection file. He sends back his troop selection file - I can't open it. Any suggestions? Can I open the txt file in MSWord and look for anything that says its a good file? I have changed nothing on my machine in many months. Can someone out there send me a game of CMBO PBEM if I can open it then the problem is with his email system. Yes Franco I'll argue this. In 39 the Germans had better soldiers. The Brits learned to fight in the desert and they were equal warriors after that. In 41 the Germans were far better soldiers than the Russians. By Stallingrad the Russians learned to fight, and they were equal warriors after that. In 42 North Afrika the Americans were green , by Sically they learned to fight. At the ground pounder level all the countries warriors were pretty much equal. It was the logistics and Ultra that beat the Germans.

I'd like to see factories. The tobacco factory at Salerno was an important land mark, although little/no fighting to place inside it.

Personally I think loggin in is a waste of time, except for scenario developers. And the reason for that is to give credit where credit is due. So what, if someone reviews a scenario 97 times and rates it with all 10's. I have more important things to do with my life then stuff a CM scenario ballot box. Who benefits and who is hurt? I may then down load a really crappy game that was rated 9.995, but, big deal its just a freakin game. ...Just a freakin game... did I say that? It the only 3 games I play Loggin for a download? Why? The only reason for that is catch some weasel rat b@$tard that may have a bootleg copy of the game. On top of all that its just another password for me to forget. AK, if you do descide to require loggin in please have the remember my id/pw option so I only need to log in once.

Yep all three installed. Hard drives are cheap. If I had to I'd buy another drive before removing a CM game. I only play 4 different games: The 3 CM games and Freecell.

I had a T34 taken out by a 37mm gun at very close range. When the crew bailed, the crew guy fired his pistol at gun then sneaked away under the tank. Some grande heuvos on that tank crew attacking the gun with a 9mm.

Disappointed, you're right I'm disappointed. I'm disappointed that I'll be getting this game for Christmas as opposed for my birthday back in September. What took you so long. You wanted to make it right. A fine job you did too! ! ! I've already played both scenarios 6 times each. I'm dissapointed that they don't release another demo scenario before the full version ships. 05 DEC 2003 is a long way away.

The most significiant change in CMAK: Spoiler * * * * * * * * * * * In Line of Defense scenario, the 1 story house next to the 75mm inf gun, there is LAUNDRY hanging on the line.

CMAK is up against the left side of the monitor edge with some clipping on the unit detail pop-ups. There is a huge gap an the right side of the screen. It looks like I need to use the monitor buttons to reposition the whole game. Everything else is fine. Athlon 1600+ 256Mram Win2000pro Nvidia GeForce2 MX/MX 400- 64 Meg Video Drivers 4.1.0.9 DirectX 8.0 I’m not sure what resolution I picked at set up (first one suggested) nor am I sure what setups I use for CMBO and CMBB but they both run fine. The AT guns and the HTs took out most of the ACs and German HTs. As AI advanced his inf towards the platoon at the north, my troops were able to suppress the Ger advance. When the Shermans showed up I positioned them in the date grove. They did a fine job as the PzIIIs were committed piecemeal in to the battle. Two Shermans and one HTs were lost with 7 PzIII being neutralized. The recon company of inftary did advance on the platoon I had moved forward. The M3s were able to break up that attack. AI then advanced 3 PzIIIs down the southern edge of the map and two more on the low side of that southern ridge. Again the sprinkling of his tanks allowed my M3s to reverse facing several times to eliminate this threat. In this action two M3s were lost. Both of these were killed by 2 more PzIII sitting off on the southeatern hill. With 2 german tanks and 6 US tanks remaining I charged all remaining tanks and routed most of the Ger Inf. One more M3 was lost taking out the final 2 German tanks. Bottom line: AI is still pretty bad while attacking, and watching both guns on the Grants fire was pretty cool. The other thing I noticed was burning bushes. There were 4 major brush fires going by the time the game ended. Three were started by mortar fire(on and off board) one was started by a burning tank. Dust is great. As was previouslt reported on another thread, I also saw how the smoke from burning tanks start out slowly and build for 30 seconds or so. I’m really glad to be playing using the Americans again.

What exactly effects does wind have on a battle? The environment section has no data on this. The manual makes no mention of wind. I tried a quick test. I made two small islands 1000M apart – so there would be no retreating. Placed 5 PzIIIJ (late) on both, captured for the Russkies. One battle was clam the other with the strongest crosswind from North. Both battles were over in 5 turns, with all the USSR tanks abandoned. I'm sure the difference was due to "owning" the tank type. However, in the calm battle the Hun lost 0 in the windy conditions they lost 2. I’d bet this test was not fully scientific. I was thinking about a new test with mortars. I’m sure the much slower muzzle velocity rounds would drift in the high wind.

I have been playing a game, a RTS type game, (lightening bolts are striking all around me now) :eek: . Please forgive me for it is not all my fault. My wife hid my CMBB disc. I will be correcting this problem soon. The papers have been filed in divorce court. My lawyer suggested I ask only for the computer and the CMBO/CMBB disks. He knows all other requests would be denied anyway. :confused: Now what should my penance be for committing such grievous sins??? :confused:

Try not to get arrested when you burn all your other computer games. You'll never play anything else.
