  1. German Soldier marching song: Whistel while you work, Hitler was a jerk, Moussilini bit his weenie, Now it doesn't work. I feel the wrath of the Adminstrator now...
  2. I'm not sure what could have been the best tank buster. I do remember playing the AH game Tobruck. I can't wait to try CMAK 88 in the desert busting Cromwells, Churchills, and Grants.
  3. What we really need is a BROTHEL. All troops that move thru that building get a morale boost of 1000%. Routing is imposssible except back to a upstairs room of the brothel.
  4. Playing Axis agin the AI. Not sure which scenario. Damp rainy. I had 8-10 tanks/inf assaulting the first line of resistance. I think the goal was too exit. I had a few tanks bogg. I carefully reversed and freed them all. I headed the armor for the road as my inf continued cross country. The my inf did a fine job of pinning his men as I drove the tanks into town. I get a tank immoblized as it entered town. I send the next tank into town - another immobile. A 3rd and a 4th. As this is happening, my inf are driving his dudes from town, killing ATRs and destroying ATGs. And a 5th tank gets immoblized at the same spot. For the 1st time in the battle I get off camera angle #5 and I notice this damn AT mines marker under the 5 immobile tanks. I still had a long way to go and my forces were shot. Alt-A and I'm starting a new game. Now I use all the camera angles.
  5. I started this scenario but didn't finish. I have a great screen capture of a German tanker dancing inside the Kremlin walls. Dancing like the cowboys did in the old westerns. A KV-1 machine is kicking up the snow while the Greman does the "Get the Heck Out of Dodge Jig". I'll post it from home.
  6. I am currently reading the book SALERNO covering the invasion of Italy. I'm only on D-Day for operation Avalanche. It was Mark Clark’s first major command. He decided not to use a softening up shipboard bombardment of the area in order to achieve surprise. Clark’s underlings tried to convince him to release the naval guns before the invasion, yet he refused. Even as the boats were approaching the shore it was known that surprise had been lost. Yet the bombardment was with held. The troops landed in the US sector were under intense attack, yet shipboard arty support was withheld. The Brit naval commander removed the hold on SB arty way before it was lifted in the US sector. Clark was a fool.
  7. A while back there was a topic "What was the worst 60 seconds of CMBB you've experianced?". Most of the examples that ['nzn] pointed out were mild compared to the things that have happened to other players. Take a chill pill. Its just a game. Like the bumper sticker says: "Feces occurs".
  8. CMBB hands down. There is a quote by one of the BTS dudes something like "CMBB is the game they always wanted CMBO to be." CMBB is much less gamey. I'll order CMAK the day it comes out and "CM Next Generation" after that. I shall play no other gaming system again. Except freecell.
  9. So far I've played mostly scenarios and I mostly start my units where te designer put them. Now I'm playing more QBs. Does any have any suggestions on how to setup? What do ya'll do survey the battlefield before the start of a battle? I can mostly handle defense setups - look for long fields of fire when your dudes are in the cover of woods, buildings, or terrain slopes. Its offensive setups I'm having trouble with!
  10. Favorite QB settings: Point Size: 1000 or less Force type: Combined Arms Force Chooser: Computer Nationality: Either German or Russia - no minor nations Terrain type: Random or a loaded map Atk/Def/ ME: Random Year: Random Weather: Random I only play QBs against other humanoids. I always play scenarios agin the computer machine.
  11. I really liked "A Warm Place to Sleep" when I was in CMBB bootcamp. Played it 3 or 4 times. Each time adding to the USSR dudes till multiple T-34s kicked my ass.
  12. I guess that makes it cheat proof. These guys at BTS thought of everything!!!!
  13. CMBB 1.03. The first 2 turns were fine. I get the file for turn 3, I watch the movie, click "Done" below the playback buttons and it says Click to save your file. There was opportunity for me to enter moves . The GO switch never appeared. I reloaded the movie and tried it again, same results. This is my first PBEM game. Is this normal

  15. I’ll admit it, I have been assimilated. I eat, breath, and, drink these CM games. The other day driving down the road, I see this wheat field with a ditch all around it. I say to my 10 year old son in the back seat. “Good cover for infantry on the right.” He says “Dad, you’ve been playing your game way too much.” I say “Not too, too much. I took time out to take you to a museum right now.” It was a military museum. I’m hooked. The point is: when I drive down the road and look off in the distance, EXACTLY how does one estimate the range to that SUV or T-34 I see in the distant haze? I guess I could draw a blue LOS line, but that doesn’t work while driving on the freeway.
  16. In the other squad level game (whisper now - close combat series) when a tank was hit and burst into flamez, it would continue to cook off any rounds still on board throughout the scenario. I lost more than a few troopers being too close to a smoking AFV. I haven't seen that yet in CMBB or CMBO.
  17. Flamingknives that is an excellent request. I really hate being out of bullets and mortar bombs when the soldiers know there won't be any resupply. The other much needed new order is a road movement for vehicles.
  18. I'd like to see some directory structure in the Scenario listing. Something like: North Afrika Crete Italy Gustav Line Italy Gothic Line Then the scenarios are stored in the folders. Also even where you can name your owo folders with names like Single Player Allies, Single Player Axis, Human Opponent.
  19. Try Ebay. Your wife got upset with your silly hobby (War Gaming) and put them up for sale. I'm bidding 47.95. You'll never see them again.
  20. I'm no expert. When one dies in the group, it is assumed that the bullets he was carrying are lost. Additionally, the amount goes lower if the group is in motion vice stationary. So while in the foxhole the remaining guys will remove the bullets from the wounded guys body. As for quantity. I'm not sure. Just loose 1 of the 2 guys in a bazooka teanm and you'll go from 8 to 3 rounds - right now.
  21. This is a message from Mrs. DingoBreath. My husband loves this game soooooooooooo much. He forgets we have two children who need to be fed lunch when I am out. He plays CMBB from Friday night (approximately 6:00 p.m.) until Sunday evening (9:00 p.m.) when it is his bedtime so he can wake up at 4:00 a.m. Monday morning. I have to call his name at least 10 times before he can turn his head away from the monitor. Hopefully if we were ever on fire I would only have to call his name 9 times. Oh well, at least I know where he is on the weekends!! Most of the time it is OK for him to play CMBB.
  22. Everything you always wanted to know about DAK and were afraid to ask: http://www-cgsc.army.mil/carl/resources/csi/Toppe/toppe.asp
  23. It really is a game. Thanks for snapping me back to reality. I was sure I've been on the steppes of Russia for the last 6 months. Wow as I look around, I again realize that I am back in the den of my home here in So Cal USA. Maybe the last 6 months were just a flashback  to the 70s. Ah yes, the 70's my first taste of COMBAT SIMULATION playing AH Panzer Blitz, Torbruk, Panzer Leader and more...
  24. Tweety that was a great quote from Apocolypse Now. I always like the line. "This is Charlie's beach". Response: "But Charlie doesn't surf". Ok, I know, way off subject.
  25. I was going to ask for the same thing, however, after pondering an instant AAR, I figured that such data would give you insight to the opposition's force size. That would eliminate some of the Fog-of-war that adds to the realism of this game. Maybe a quick body count, but you couldn't be provided with the status enemys remaining forces numbers.
