Ok, looks like this now, but still no music.... actually, I kind of like it quiet .. Regards, Doug

Thanks... Here's what my Z folder contents looks like.. Should Oddball's mod only be ONE folder in that Z directory, with all his sub-folders under it, instead of his sub-folders being immediately one level down from Z? Regards, Doug
-
Not sure what I've done wrong, but I followed Oddball's instructions for MG.. Create a folder named Z in your Combat Mission/Data folder. Extract my mod into that folder. There seems to be NO music intro (or any music) for CMBN, nor in CMFI when I copy the CMFI Music folder into Z in that program? Thanks Regards, Doug

Absolutely ... I can't speak for anything except the Sherman, however, buttoned down you can't see Sh$$ .... We used to engage with the cupola hatch "cracked" open enough to stick a set of binos through the opening slot to be able to spot much of anything... Regards, Doug

H2HH 2.9.0 Available - you need to update
BadgerDog replied to GreenAsJade's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
No problem.... I will look here for updates... By the way, I appreciate your work very much.... It makes this game far more playable for me. Without it, I'd spend half my life checking and sending emails, plus copying files to the right in-box, depending upon which game it was... I'm not sure I would have the time to buy and keep playing Battlefront's products ... Battlefront should be making it part of their basic install package as an option ... Regards, Doug -

It does... thanks .. Usually his new versions for my MacBook Pro just show up automatically in the Drop Box he had me set up originally, but I'll manually download this one and install it... Regards, Doug -

Hello folks .... I have some time off during the holidays and I'm looking for a PBEM opponent to play CMBN 2.0 against ... I use DropBox and H2H Helper program from Martin 'GreenAsJade' Gregory (h2hh@gregories.net), which is excellent for making PBEM games easy to handle. http://gregories.net/h2hh/H2H Helper.html So, if you'd like to give it a go, email be at badger@milsurps.com. Thanks .... Regards, Doug

BadgerDog replied to GreenAsJade's topic in Combat Mission Fortress Italy
I've been trying to run the Mac version 2.2.1 with CMFI and getting some real issues that I've never had before with CMBN... I opened some trouble tickets 102, 103 and 104. Let me know if you need anything else... Thanks for your work.. a great addition to CM gaming ... Regards, Doug -

What kind of Sherman and what kind of round did it have in its "ready bins" to use against the Tiger? Regards, Doug -

That's entirely possible, but in my humble opinion, I think you'd have to spend a lot more then $50 for a game and have a mid-frame processing platform that costs tens of thousands of dollars to get that kind of sophisticated result. It's a micro-processor based PC game, complete with all the limitations of processing power and cost of development versus ROI that determines what gets delivered to the end customer. Personally, I love the game, even when the realism isn't there, such as with the Sherman tank which has a LOT of gamey unrealistic edges, that I could write pages of criticisms about. How do I handle that, well, I used to come here and whine about realism, then I gave myself a shake and read my own counter argument above. So, now I've learned to live with the game and engine limitations, but I've met some great folks in multi-player, plus had hundreds of hours of enjoyment getting my lights punched out by them. If don't want to play it anymore because you can't get enough of a realism fix from it, then I respect that, but respect the fact that I (perhaps others) think it's a fantastic $50 entertainment value for a war game on a personal computer platform. Regards, Doug -
"On at least two occasions, under intense fire, Cpt. Virgo got on to the back of his tank and, with a crowbar, manhandled the gear rods out of reverse." Must be some confusion in the historical account as to what he was doing or referencing, as this is impossible to do from the back deck of a Sherman, at least an M4A2E8. Regards, Doug

Ahhh... nostalgia ... I loved the 1960's as well... weed, free love and all that stuff we used to enjoy ... However, I've learned that you can't live in the past and life is pretty damn good (and fun) with the current stuff ... It depends upon whether you view the glass as half full, or half empty ... ..... grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference. Regards, Doug

No massive amount of firing ... I'm on a MacBook Pro and I've had no other problems with other sound mods or PCM settings ... Don't worry about it.... I'll just stay with other mods which work fine ... Thanks for the feedback .. Regards, Doug
