In an M4 Sherman... yes ... It was SOP for driver and co-driver (bow gunner) hatches to be closed if turret was running free and particularly with PT motor unlocked and running. A good way to accidentally lose one's head .... Regards, Doug

Hi Sarge .. Sorry for piggybacking on your thread, but I wasn't having much luck in the "Opponent Finder Forum" ... Looking for a CMBN 1.10 Commonwealth opponent .... I use GreenAsJade's excellent Head to Head add-on program wit DropBox for tracking turns and I prefer opponents with the same set-up. I have a bias for playing the German side and enjoy large/huge map sizes with lots of maneuver room. The golden rule of real world RECCE troops was to "See without being Seen" using "Sneak and PeeK" tactics .... I certainly wasn't "cannon fodder" when I was tasked to RECCE Troop as part of my M4 CC training ... At various times, we trained with Bren Gun Carriers, Feret Scout Car and finally M51 pattern jeeps with .30 Browning MG's mounted on pillar posts and wire cutters fixed to front bumper. Most of the time we dismounted "turret down" style and went ahead on foot to get a good look with binos. Regards, Doug

Yes !!! ... This drives me crazy .... Often I have to turn OFF the covered arcs, just to see the ground and if you add more covered arcs with various move points, they layer on top of each other and make it even worse. At least there should be an ALT key capability to toggle them off momentarily while you examine the ground underneath them ... Regards, Doug

This is a terrific mod ... I've often wanted to be able to view the entire set of vehicles available to either side, as a compliment to the "photocopy" type black and white pics in the manuals. Appreciate the work in putting this together ... Regards, Doug

No, I was the Panther ... Incredible piece of gunnery with the optics and equipment contemporary to that period. Does everyone else experience this level of speed of target acquisition and then first round accuracy within CBMN? I hear sound from other YouTube videos, but not from this one, but I have no idea why. I have sound locally with the same file, so there must be some setting in YouTube that I have to address, but that wouldn't explain why I hear all other YouTube videos except some of the CBMN based video files.... :confused: Thanks for the feedback .. Panther sitting at 871 meters... First Firefly was a one-shot-one-kill as well, followed by three more direct hits one after the other ... I concur ... Tanks aren't built to fight in close quarters ... In a hatches closed M4, you can't see much of anything within that range, through the driver's, co-driver's periscopes etc, or the CC's cupola glass. It is better directly to the front, but almost useless out to the sides. It's an awful feeling to try to maneuver closed down on tight ground, when your peripheral and short range vision is so hampered. Regards, Doug
