  1. Hi BTS I am fully aware of your deal with CDV and inability of us UK & Euro (note subtle seperating ) customers to order the US version directly but is it possible for me (us) to purchase the US Version from your site if we have it shipped to a US address (at least initially ) ? I ask this as I would prefer the US version but am having problem finding a suitable user friendly method of passing on required money to several generous Pbem opponnents who have offered to obtain Cmbb on my behalf. Sorry if this has been asked before but I am getting desperate now that your pre-ordering is functional !! Oops quick edit : does any other board user know of decent method of passing on US$ from UK eg are Royal Mail Postal Orders cashable in US ? Cheers [ September 07, 2002, 06:06 AM: Message edited by: Gary Barr ]
  2. Hi all Tis indeed seemingly the sad demise of this illustrious forum but I for one will continue to play CMBO (in addition of course to CMBB) as it is still a fantastic game in its own right. But then I still have the old Battleground Ardennes on my HD Big Childrens Playgroup is my wifes name for my Wargaming pals and your truly so I submit this as our 'club' title Cheers
  3. Hi Poobear et al Hmm......I distinctly recall seeing Blucher unhorsed at Ligny in this movie and towards end there are several hundred Prussians depicted (how could you miss Steigers extreme over-acting at news that Prussians have arrived !!) As always other movies I like (historical ropeyness not withstanding) which are not already mentioned are Hell Is For Heroes Bridge At Remagen Kellys Heroes Longest Day Patton Young Lions Of course Cross Of Iron is still the best but then I may be tad biased Cheers
  4. Hi Bruno et al Considering the.......er......quality of Turans maybe it is a Blindfold ? Great screenshots I am convinced BTS blokes are sadists and all the rest of us masochists Cheers
  5. HI Jason All I can say is that his along with all the other graves are in good hands as the standard of care and maintenance at each Cemetary I visited is obvious. At each Cemetary there is a Visitors book with some very poignant entries from relatives some of which deeply moved me and which in the end I found to private to read........ Cheers
  6. Hi Kump et al I will second that very impressive indeed Cheers
  7. Hi Kurt (Warhammer) Whilst I primarily wanted to visit the Commonwealth zones I would really have loved to have seen at least some of the US area of OPs and associated Cemetaries and Museums etc but it was not to be I missed out or skimmed over quickly much of the Brit/Can area too in particular not visiting Villers Bocage or the Chambois/Trun areas. Maybe next time Glad you enjoyed the pics
  8. HI Juju Thanks for quick response. For info of any other intrepid souls the pics are all from Brit/Canadian zones (as I had insufficent time sadly to visit any US sites) As you will see my photo skills are not the best either Cheers
  9. Hi all Just got back from a trip to France and in particular Normandy and have a few (34) pics of same. Am trying to use Lycos photo Albums to store can someone try link herewith and tell me if they can view any images ? http://photos.lycos.com/s.asp?r=hvbfb3m6molk1cdegfpguj0bug_372890 Cheers
  10. Hi Zamo et al Scene definately in my (region 2) Dvd Note for those checking for scene it occurs just after Steiner leaves hospital and is returning to frontline with Schnubart Cheers [ July 09, 2002, 08:43 AM: Message edited by: Gary Barr ]
  11. Hi Abrams Not sure if it is I you wish to make contact with or not ? I was originally posting here as Sgt Steiner (note lack of dot) but due to a hiccup on board I got scrambled and asigned junior status There was another bloke who used Sgt.Steiner (note cunning inclusion of dot) but I have not seen a post for awhile from him. If it is the Belfast version you are looking contact me at sgtsteiner@sgtsteiner.worldonline.co.uk Cheers
  12. Hi all What I miss is the actual tacticle feel of those little cardboard counters and the thrill of physically rolling dice but then I am a Miniatures Wargamer at heart so am probably biased but CMBO almost makes up for it with its excellent sound effects No doubt though that CMBO has all but taken over my Wargaming time with precious little Miniatures gaming happening and absolutely no Board Wargaming (cant bear to part with a single game though). Cheers
  13. Hi Tar Here is another pic with a slightly more subtle patchwork effect Cheers
  14. Hi Tar I achieve this effect by mixing the .BMPs related to Grass (1550-1569) from various MOds available. Ie I use a dark tile from say Maguas Normandy then a lighter tile from DDs then another shade from Toms etc etc and so on. This gives a sort of patch-work quilt effect to grass (and aids in viewing relief somewhat). If you use CMMOS then make up a set manually (ie by renaming whichever tile .Bmp as you desire) over-write your current grass mod and use one of the 'Save Current Terrain Set' options to store this grass set but still allowing use of the other grass Mods within Cmmos. Here is a quick image to show what I mean, maybe not exactly what you desire. Hope this helps Cheers [ May 22, 2002, 05:57 PM: Message edited by: Gary Barr ]
  15. Hi Ted et al I have visited CM Mod Depot several times but no matter which Scn etc I try to Download I always get 'Page unavailable' ? anyone else having this problem with this site or just lucky old me Cheers
  16. Hi all Great work on latest Cmmos stuff Pity I have too little time at present to play with all the new options etc One query in the new Mods List are those with 'New' noted alongside only ones required to update older Cmmos Mod versions (Ie I assume one does not have to DL all the mods only the latest additions) ? Cheers
  17. Hi CoolColJ et al Yes indeed all these Big Cats look stunning and I for one would love to have them grace my monitor. Just checked CoolColJ's site and there is a ton of stuff he is working on !! all excellent. Cheers [ April 28, 2002, 04:58 AM: Message edited by: Gary Barr ]
  18. Hi Manx The version at Der Kessel is slightly diffrent in that it does not have same extent of options as your 1.0b version mainly regarding markings and couple schurzen options. A nice mod indeed and I cant decide between this Ausf A and Mark Jagers Hasty version ! CMMOS Panthers need an update Cheers
  19. Hi Jesse Welcome to our world Ref Mods I would reccomend you DL the excellent CMMOS programe (available at CMHQ with notes and instructions) and whichever of its Mods you so desire (literally hundreds of MB worth) as in CMMOS when you select a Mod there is now an option to use Mod as a Lo-Res version (still very nice indeed) which may help if you find your system spec has problems. Enjoy this superb game
  20. Hi My father bought the UK version yesterday I had a quick look at it. The main game CD is CM v1.12 but is copy protected and has a CDV logo at start in place of QT Movie. The bonus CD has quite a lot of stuff It has CMMOS v3.00 It has a good selection of Mods (but all available already nothing new) It inculdes a folder with appox 50 more scns again all readily available It includes a paper manual which is identical to original with only addition I could see being a section on using TCP/IP All in all a good deal for a first time CM buyer but nothing for owners of original unless you really need a box Cheers [ March 12, 2002, 10:06 AM: Message edited by: Gary Barr ]
  21. Hi Madmatt et al Excellent new feature for CMBB but (there is always one eh ) whilst I know BTS said there would be no more updates for CMBO I do wish they would reconsider to some degree as these sorts of improvements are a real must for Western Theatre of Ops.......... Or will I have to wait for CMII ? what will I do in meantime I guess I will have to make do with CMBO and CMBB Roll on CMBB release !! Cheers
  22. Hi JonS I think he was bog standard with no bonus stats in command of a whole platoon of Green types. (Just checked he had a +1 Cmd Bonus nothing else) Thankfully the Tiger having turned to engage the Inf and Piat was brewed through turret rear on next turn by a Cromwell I raced forward to seize just this opportunity Cheers [ March 08, 2002, 07:35 AM: Message edited by: Gary Barr ]
  23. Hi Kwacker The sky is from Maguas Normandy mod. I think the road is as well although it might be a modded version of his mod Cheers
