  1. Hi Apache If as I understand it there was insufficent room on disc to include Winterized vehicles I suspect they may be amongst first Mods we shall see ? Cheers
  2. Hi Steve No arguement possible with this 'Deerhunterism' "For you dear anything" (my 'Oliverism' ) Cant promise as if its as good as you claim I will be too engrossed Steve I have been and am a firm supporter and indeed advocate of CM (and indeed your early products- my claim to fame being that I got a letter published in last issue of AHs The General (RIP) praising Over The Reich one of my first PC Wargame purchases-) on this and many forums and amongst my local Wargaming contacts. Just ask Jan (my much better half by far) how 'devoted' I am to your product Childish attitude maybe but then I am just a big kid at heart and it is a game we are talking about here. Without labouring the point its not the lack of a manual per se I dislike its the lack of information about the lack that is lacking I suspect my love of Manuals harks back to my old Board Wargaming days of yore and indeed to my current (but neglected- mainly due to CM I might add-) Miniatures Wargaming fetish with shelves full of Rulesets of both thin and thick girths Boy have I got you fooled Not bad for a bloke who said "I Will Talk No More Forever"
  3. Hi Fitz Uh oh I thought he might Infamy Infamy (they all got it in for me )
  4. Hi BFC et al Can I ask if when the inevitable patches appear for CMBB will those released for US version be compatible with the CDV......um......'version' ? Please if the answer is No just say so I dont want anymore surprises and would much prefer an honest answer wether to my liking or not. The thought of depending on CDV to release patches concurrent (or if at all) with 'offical' patches for their multiple language versions is faniciful to say the least (in this cheesed off blokes humble opinion anyway)in light of their handling of CMBB (or CMII as they prefer) release(s)............ Thank you Another whingeing/gripeing/gurning Euro
  5. Hi Madmatt Ok........equine reins in hold mode......
  6. Hi Agua Thanks for kind offer (and similar from other US blokes) but I will decline as I am disenchanted enough with BTS/CDV at this point as to not want to spend one extra penny on this increasingly illusive game than I have to despite its appeal. Yours still grouchy
  7. Hi I got to say that I find this manual 'issue' EXTREMELY annoying ! We in UK/Europe have been told all along that the ONLY change to CDVs release of CMBB would be the minor change of SS to WG (no problem) I recall (no time or indeed interest in searching for relevant thread) that it was said on the CMBO forum that we would be given the same manual as US version not some 90 page pamphlet and DIY for rest !!!!!!!! Had I (and I suspect many others) have known this was the way things were to be we would have gone the route of using an US pal to pass on US version to us. I have never in all my dealings with BTS and CMBO and time on this forum (basically since eta Demo days) ever 'bitched' 'moaned' or 'cried' about anything but this is VERY VERY annoying indeed. I feel very let down by the total lack of firm release dates by CDV and the lack of information ref these 'differences' between versions ! I can only hope that the delay until release on 4th October for UK version is because CDV will be supplying a PROPER manual !!?? I dont like making posts like this but I am really frustrated by this news and so late in the day !! It is already taking the gloss of a great game for me. Not a good show at all chaps.........
  8. Hi Fitz Name rings a bell (but then so does Quasimodo ) I wonder does he remember me !? If he was on Rugby/Athletics/Basketball Teams then I would definately have known him (I would do anything to get out of class ) I do remember a Richard Robinson (a local BClare personage) any relation ? Strange that we live a few miles apart with excellent telephone and road system but end up corresponding on this board, the joys of the internet eh !? Cheers
  9. Hi Barbarossa by Alan Clarke is decent overall account and is available in Paperback in UK (Cassell Military Series) at very reasonable £6.99 or thereabouts. Cheers
  10. Hi Old Dog Most certainly and this would be a welcome option in Cmmos Cheers
  11. Hi Fitz I have had Cmbb (sorry CM2) on order with SoftwareFirst.com (for what seems ages !) but still no firm date or price from them so I may go with Game also (much more sensible anyway as I have one of their discount cards). Ballyclare eh ? good school there (on Rashee Road) of which I am a product (now well past sell by date though) Cheers
  12. Hi all Yes I must agree as a number of US pals offered to buy or act as staging post for purchase of US version of CMBB. However my ancestral Scots blood got better of me and I decided to purchase the cheaper Cdv version Maybe we UK/Euros will be able to respond in kind when CDV releases the 'definitive' version of a game which our US consumers pals will just have to have as soon as possible prior to 'inferior' BTS release !! Cheers wishing it was October 4th already
  13. Hi Commissar Yes tis I the one the only the original (well except for that Coburn bloke) Sgt Steiner. 'Handle' broke off when BTS board crashed not so long ago and my ID got scrambled and I had to re-establish my ID (with a humiliating high member number) do you think they were trying to tell me something ? Cheers
  14. HI Firefly et al Yes at least now we have a firm date which at least should end speculation. Cheers
  15. Hi Martin Roger that but maybe a little 'query' ref proposed date from your goodselves at BTS might yield a firm release date to put us out of our growing misery I emailed Cdv directly and prompt reply said only that UK release was due late Sept or into Oct.... Problem with October is that it leaves 30 possible dates !! Cheers
  16. Hi Jeff One way (the only ?) around this Cdv 'issue' is to order indirectly from US. By this I mean you can order the game online at BTS as long as the delivery is to an address in US and then have the kind soul you had it delivered to pass it on to UK for you. Sorting out postage payment to US friend is a small problem. Main problem is that compared to Cdv release the cost of this method is tad more expensive, I estimate around $70-75 including game if using a priority mail service from US, and in fact I can get 2 copies of UK version for this (£26.99 is cheapest I have seen it advertised). BUT when the UK release will actually be is seemingly a secret My other main concern with Cdv version is (WG vs SS issue aside)wether any of inevitable patches for Cmbb will suffer from same Anlgo-phobia ? although I seem to recall that BTS stated that patches would work for both US & UK versions ? Of course if you speak/read German you are sorted as that version is due out on 20th (which is hard to fathom since it needed a full translation of Cmbb !!) Such is life........ Cheers
  17. Hi Makjager et al But when ?? need a CMMOS fix to help me through wait for Cmbb (wherever I end up getting it from ) Cheers
  18. Hi all Thanks for all the tips on how I can spend my ill gotten gains I am still torn between ordering the US version indirectly with added hassle/expense involved or waiting for the UK release (which will happen eventually I am told ! ) at lesser expense but with Cdv copy-protection hassle. Decisions decisions......... Cheers
