  1. Hi all Well personally I have now had enough (after exercising extreme patience IMO) with CDV and am now going the route of US intermediary (at least I hope so eh Bruno old mate old pal ). I guess I should have done this weeks ago (but the Scots blood strain runs contrary to spending of any excess pennies at all ) although if I get one of newer CDs I may avoid any install issues (Lord knows what awaits purchasers of Cdv version in this regard !!) Knowing my luck ref this game there will be a worldwide postal strike or BTS CD machine will melt or............
  2. Hi Bruno Glad to have been of service May your hump explode and your fetlocks fall of Still waiting for Cdv reply......... still waiting................ stil............... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
  3. Hi Forgot to ask did anyone else get this Cdv Newsletter ? or is it just ME they have vendetta against !! Replying to my own posts such are the depths to which I have plummeted.........
  4. Hi Hate mail what a splendidly fine idea Gautrek I actually think your scouring pad delivery might be just the ticket I really need Cmbb to get me of this forum........ [ September 27, 2002, 07:10 PM: Message edited by: Gary Barr ]
  5. Hi Gautrek Damn mate youve cracked it !! we should suggest to Cdv that they bundle Cm II with Sudden Strike II then maybe they will release it Afterall SSII is we are told by Cdv an accurate Wargame based firmly on historical data so what better to accompany that old ropey Cm title eh ? I mean how good can CM2 be if it has GIs in Ostfront !? Good to see you are taking politeness lessons [ September 27, 2002, 07:03 PM: Message edited by: Gary Barr ]
  6. Hi Michael Hmm let me think..........oh yes I have it just send that little old possibly defective round disc like thing with CMBB logo on it to yours truly and you will make a grown child very happy indeed. Go on you know you want too
  7. Hi all Sorry to butt into discourse between all you Cmbb owning sods but........ Here is an 'interesting' snippet from (an unsolicited I might add) Newsletter email I got from CDV this very day : CDV Newsletter - English (Deutsche Version: Hier klicken) 03. International Combat Mission 2 tournament on gamershall.de Fred Wartenberg aka „Cobra" is organising a international Combat Mission 2 tournament on gamershall.de. Players all around the world are invited to join this tournament. The rules, and the possibility to register yourselves can be reached through this link: http://www.gamershall.de/wpc/cm-turnier-international/cm-turnier-international -main-englisch.htm Quite how they expect their non-German.....er.....'customers' to partake in this is puzzling to say the least since they wont release the damn game  Adverts/sections on various Cdv titles included (Cossacks Sudden Strike II etc) but bar the above not a jot about Cmbb....ooops my bad.....I mean CMII They are a strange lot........ Postscript : I have replied (as politely as I can manage) to this Newsletter enquiring as to method they propose for my participation in this Tourney. Will wait up all night for answer........ 8. Hi Gautrek Hmmm being much to polite to answer I will not answer. 'These people'......see what I mean about impoliteness (awaits even less polite reply with breath bated)? Why 'these people' should bother to respond to anything posted by any of us on this forum is I beg to offer (of course in politest way possible) them only being polite Nor am I (my method of expressing same is just a tad different than yours) and have posted (politely of course) about this in past few days to which BTS have replied as and when they have seen fit. Have I liked the reply ? not always but I appreciate it just the same They could afterall just 1. Not answer ever (but are to polite for that) 2. Ban me (again to polite if not needed) 3. Any other reason you wish to insert Are we reading the same forums ? No disagreement polite or otherwise with this but (and to quote Steve of BTS) "it is what it is" Yours in a plethora of politeness
  9. Hi all fellow UK/Euro sufferers I wonder if thats as official as the offical announcement that was offically announced by a Cdv UK official that the offical UK release date was offically 4th Oct ? Just wondering...........
  10. Hi Gautrek I think despite being upset/dissapointed etc its only polite to be polite to BFC on their own forum I find it gets a better response anyway, the BFC blokes are only human afterall (I hope !) Fellow 'miffee'
  11. Hi Wittmann (fan of Ruskies In Cmbb I assume ) I see from your profile you are a driller of teeth so have a proven track record for inflicting pain on others And no I am not in the least jealous
  12. Hi Gary (excellent name choice ) Aah the famed British understatement Just for your info couple mates got Cmbb (lucky sods) here in UK via US 'indirect' route. One had no install problems at all other had but was able to use the 'fix' files (might be a prob if you have an old 56k internet connection as files are largish) and has been promised a replacement CD by BTS. Just to advise the US method may have some issues (and a little added expense) but definately it seems it will get here before Cdv release (why they are so determined to clutch UK game so firmly is beyond me). In fact if your purchaser had to swim the Atlantic with game it would still be faster method I suspect A chap whose flabber is hugely gasted by all this
  13. Arrrrraaaaggggghhhhhh !!!!!!!! This is sheer living hell damn damn and double damn Cdv ...................
  14. Hi all I am not a business savvy bloke I have little or no interest in Internet sales vs Retail sales issues I no longer care what problems there are in producing UK version or any other version for that matter. I have no axe grind with BTS/BFC (although I can think of several places to put it with CDV lot) I just want the game (and yes I know I can get it if I really want it via US pal) IE the same game that is being played in USA, Germany, Hong Kong, Canada, Australia, South Africa, New Zealand etc etc Wallowing in misery and abject self pity
  15. Hi Steve et al Roughly !!?? Sounds like definate maybe then........ Maybe good old Santa Claus will be able to get CMBB to UK before years end ? Happy as Pig in the proverbial..........
  16. Hi GOrdon et al I re downloaded the Misc Mods exe from CMHQ (which now links to Ver 1.02) and am now getting Tabs for both 'Faces Of Fear' and 'Vexlixography' Vex works fine but the Faces mods do not seem to change to either Warm or Winter versions ( I double checked and Bmps are in CM) I see a rulset for them but they dont seem to want to work for me any suggestions ? This really is a superb programme Cheers
  17. Hi Gordon First up great work from you and your associates. Ref the Velixography and Faces Of Fear Mods are the rulesets missing for these at present ? I dont see any relevant ruleset in my Cmmos folder nor were they an option during any of the latest install processes that I could see ? Cheers
  18. Hi I believe Cdvs release dates are just that theirs (ie not BFCs). A bloke (Z ?) from UK Cdv posted last week (seems so long ago.......) that UK release date was to be 4th Oct so maybe he will update us on latest 'happy' news.......or maybe not ? Pleased as punch
  19. Hi I have the Markers tab showing ok but as per yourself UK AF Jeep is crossed-out (although I thin it was ike this in last version to ?) Also I DL Vexilography Mod and Faces Mod but no tab for these and appears no corresponding rulesets ? From memory I think several CMMOS releases were shy a few things which were subsequently updated maybe same for this large release. Anyway some excellent stuff kudos to Gordon et al (I need something to do whilst enduring this interminable wait for CMBB !) Cheers
  20. Hi all These postings of pics are pure undiluted sadism at its most extreme ( and my viewing of same masochism in its finest form  ) for those ( and we are legion ) who do not have the game as yet 4th October seems sooooooo far away........... Cheers
  21. Hi Makjager Now thats a very proactive approach well worth pondering You know afterall this waffling etc I will probably end up buying the US version Cheers
  22. Hi Matt et al Thank you for this option much appreciated and some of us might actually enjoy ripping the Cdv 'mini-manual' to shreds for this Cheers
  23. Hi Apache Well actually not as yet as I am waiting to see what BFC blokes come up with ref manual and I got an affirmative answer ref patches so I may yet go the Waffen Grenadier route . I will await arrival of game to see how my current set up copes......... Santa could be asked to intervene eventually Cheers [ September 21, 2002, 11:02 AM: Message edited by: Gary Barr ]
