  1. This looks great! I love to see good winter whitewash mods. I would love to get every winter vehicle in the game looking as good as this one and the KV-85 and Stugs you recently completed. I would play more often in winter if all the vehicles looked this good. There have been some very good whitewash mods in the past but the appearance of this in game is very authentic looking. Thanks!
  2. Personally, I'd rather have a Tiger than a Panther. The heavier 88 rounds seem less susceptible to ricocheting off the Sherman than the higher velocity 75's. Ah hell! My cat's get knocked out all the time by Easy 8's. I'd have to give the Sherman Easy Eight the coolest looking tank in the war award though. A Sherman on steroids.
  3. I just tried to get in to this forum and I wasn't allowed in. They've got alot of nerve I'll tell ya!
  4. These are great! Downloaded them all yesterday. They'll be hitting my 21" Sony Trinitron CRT sometime this evening. Thanks so much for your hard work and dedication to this zany WWII fest!
  5. Oh My God! I can't believe it! Winter battles just got better! Keep em comin brother! NICE!
  6. You may not like doing whitewashed mods but this one is a real beauty! You've got a great eye for detail and color.
  7. These look great! A definite download when they become available. You guys are keeping this game at the front of the pack with this type of artistic work. I mean the game is great to begin with but this stuff is amazing!
  8. There were no vulnerable spots on the Ferdinand. The Fuhrer would have never allowed it! I'm sure the Fuhrer directive stated something to the effect that the tank destroyer be invulnerable.
  9. Weren't some Waffen SS personnel rotated through the concentration camp system? I read somewhere that 3rd Waffen SS Panzer Division Totenkopf men were rotated through the system. Is anyone in the know regarding this?
  10. I tried this test again to see if I could better my average. My scores were 50, 49, 46, 51, 48 A little better than before. With the average time being 48.8 seconds. Not bad. Previously the average was 49.6. Who won? Anybody keeping track?
  11. Oh Daddy-O! Those are some quick times there.
  12. Quick question for anyone who may know the answer. Both my CMAK and CMBB environments are heavily modded with higher resolution BMP's. Will this increase the wait time at all upon hitting the "GO" button? Thanks.
  13. I enjoy battles against the AI very much. Sometimes it does foolish things but I still get whooped by it on occasion. This is the best damn game in history!
  14. - the times you got for the blue bar without computer player - what kind of CPU you have, clockspeed - overclocked, if yes what is original and what is overclock speed? - how much RAM? - (EDITED to add: how fast is your RAM, e.g. "333 MHz" or "800 MHz dual-channel") - (EDITED to add: if you know, the processor core you have (Prescott, Thunderbird etc.) or if you don't know that, post your cache sizes and socket) My system: Windows XP Pro Service Pack 2 AMD Athlon XP Thoroughbred Core 2800+ 2.25ghz running at 333mhz (NOT OVERCLOCKED) Chaintech GeForce Ti4600 128MB Video Card 1.5GB RAM Kingston PC2700 333mhz Chaintech motherboard 7NJL1 Apogee 400mhz bus capable. BIOS set to 333. I left sound on and all graphics at Full. My times were: 50, 49, 48, 50, 51 - Seconds that is. Thinking about an upgrade? Your times didn't appear poor really. I can upgrade to the 3200+ processor and invest in PC3200 RAM but I'm not sure what kind of a return I would get. The 3200+ has more memory on the processor and I would be operating at a better bus speed but the actual clock speed of the 3200+ is slightly less than my Thoroughbred 2800+ 2.2 vs 2.25. Maybe in a few more months when the prices make it possible to do this for $200 or less I will try it. This was a good test. Just an FYI on my system. I have all of the unnecessary services that load at boot-up turned off. The operating system from a services perspective is stripped down for maximum processor freedom. AKA - Black Viper website. 15. I downloaded and applied SP2 the other night and my machine runs fine. I only play CM single player or play by e-mail though so I can't attest to and network play issues. I like SP2 though. Some things seemed to have gotten a bit quicker one of which is boot-up by a few seconds.
  16. Thanks for this mod. I usually play CMAK with QB's in late war Italy and I wanted a nice traditional gray stahlhelm instead of the desert tan one's that come with the game. I am going to start making some West Front scenarios of my own. This mod will make it look a little more West Front when I play. Thanks again.
  17. I'm pretty sure that its officially out as I downloaded and applied it from the Microsoft website. My machine is running fine with it and Combat Mission has no problems with it that I can detect.
  18. Here's a good example of what I'm talking about. 1250 point quick battle in CMAK. I take one jagdpanther, that's it. The only advantage I gave the tank destroyer was high experience, it turned out to be "Crack". I give the American's +50% armored and let the computer pick the forces. Most of their forces are regular or better. They end up with 10 destroyed tanks and tank destroyers and 150 infantry casualties. The jagdpanther was eventually knocked out by an anti-tank team with a bazooka. The game bestowed a major victory to the jagdpanther based upon the number of casualties inflicted vs taken. The number of rounds that bounced off the front of this thing was amazing. The terrain was dry and the sky was clear. Small hills and moderate foliage/trees. I simply found a hill that would give the tank destroyer a good overall view of anything approaching and let the carnage begin. Mind you, I'm not bragging about my playing ability because quite frankly, I'm not that good at CM. But this jagdpanther, if it remains mobile and undamaged, can open up a serious can of whoop ass on an opponent advancing in the open. Thanks for the replies, and all of the facts presented.
