  5. Andrew, I did not see in your text file that these mods could be used in CMBB. The ambush Panzer IVJ is awesome. I would like to be able to use this in CMBB as well. Is it compatible? Thanks

Not to worry on this point, I understand where you are coming from. 99 times out of a 100, I play QB's against the AI. When I play Russian, I almost always end up doing a mad rush once I have used up the available terrain. If there is a Tiger, the mad rush usually results in a battlefield filled with burning T-34's. I think from reading the beginning of your last post, you understand where I was coming from. Again, thanks. BigDuke6 - "Some children are so spoiled, they throw fits if they don't get their favorite toys." This definitely doesn't fit me as a player. As far as playing the Germans goes, my personal favorites are StugIV and PanzerIV/70. I do however like to play with Tigers. Here is a typical battle that I would set up using the QB generator: 1500 points - Allies +50%. October 1944 - This almost ensures that the Russians will have T-34/85's or 76mm lend-lease Shermans. Allied attack - Dawn - Clear - moderate foliage - small hills - village with no damage. Both sides are pure armor. I let the AI pick the Russian forces but as I said before, because of the date, it almost always ends up with a couple of T-34/85's or lend-lease Shermans with 76mm's. I prefer to have the Russian experience set to high so they have some veterans or better. For the Germans, I pick one or two Tiger I's, usually veteran or crack. On a rare occassion, I mop up, but usually my Tiger's end up getting knocked out after three or four turns. Of course, this isn't a test and doesn't prove anything, except maybe that I overestimate the Tiger's ability when facing 15 or more enemy tanks. Great fun though! You guys seem to have a wealth of data at your fingertips. Historically, what kind of odds did a Tiger crew face?

According to the early posts in the thread, it was the issue. -------------------------------------------------- The tests that I ran AND the tests that you ran prove that losses are possible. I go back to my original statement, I lose Tigers and Stugs to T-34 76.2mm's all the time.
  11. I'd have to agree with you with these particular screenshots. There wasn't much of a difference. I'll continue to look swap the settings to see if I can get a view that appears markedly better with mipmapping set to trilinear.

  15. There was a "How to knock out a Ferdinand" thread in which I suggested this very method. One has to keep in mind that tropical fruit was scarce on the eastern front.
  16. 76mm's on T-34's. Ranges were slightly in excess of 500m. As I pulled the Tiger in, the frequency of penetrations increased. Please keep in mind that these were side shots.
  17. FYI for anyone still interested. I e-mailed two screenshots to RedWolf. One with mipmapping set to trilinear and the other with mipmapping shut off.
  18. I just tried this test again and the number of penetrations increased. I dropped the Tiger crews experience to conscript to slow its response time. That was the only change I made. Instead of 1 out of every 10 shots penetrating it jumped to 1 out of every 5. The Tiger was quickly knocked out.
