  1. When I look at the screenshots for DropTeam, I get the impression that there will be background noise, something along the lines of vehicle to vehicle communications that are heard by the player or maybe alerts when one vehicle spots a potential threat and then informs other units in their area. Have the developers anounced anything along the lines of sound in the game? I don't want to bring in a specter from another game, but I would think that something like Borg spotting, so often mentioned as a problem in the Combat Mission games, would actually be realistic in futuristic combat. Just curious.
  2. This will be a great improvement. And I just bought another 512MB of RAM for a whopping 1.5GB's total. YEAH!
  3. With a 2 ghz+ cpu, 1 gig of memory and a 6800 GT card I'd say you would be able to run several current generation fps games very well. Don't bother with the Ultra, its too expensive compared to the miniscule extra oomph it gives you. You could also see what ATI has up its sleeves coming next month. Or just wait for 2006 when CMx2 has shipped </font>

  5. This game looks great. I'm looking forward to the release.
  6. Ha ha! Yeah they're still pissed about the whole thing. A bunch of sore losers I say.
  7. June 2006 - Normandy landings to the end of the war, West front.
  8. This is good news! If I'm reading this right. It seems to me that this is exactly what was needed, retention of spotted enemy units.
  9. I'm hoping my current rig will be sufficient to run CMx2 with all of its bells and whistles. I can only upgrade the RAM and video card. The mother board already has the fastest processor it can handle. My rig: AMD XP 3200+ processor 2.2ghz (Can't get any better than this without scraping the motherboard and going with 64bit AMD's or P4's 1GB Kingston Hyper-X RAM (I have an open slot for another stick) ABit motherboard 400FSB (It is what it is) Nvidia GeForce Ti4600 128mb 4XAGP (I'm already setting aside cash to get a GeForce 6800 Ultra 256mb 8XAGP Creative labs Soundblaster Gamer 5.1 (Probably irrelevant) What is CMx2 being tested on? If I've stepped on Battlefront's toes with this question, I'm apologizing in advance.
  10. Win98 was the last stable one made by MS???? Are you on drugs? Did you skip 2000 Professional? Get XP Pro SP2. Way better than 98. </font>
  11. I recently fired up CMBB and one of the vehicles I was issued was a Stug42 self-propelled howitzer (Late model). There were several spots on the AFV that were white, as if the bmp file responsible for filling in that spot on it were missing. Specifically, the very top of the mg42 mounted on the chassis and a few spots on the rear of the vehicle. Has anyone else experienced this problem with this AFV? I have installed mods for this AFV. Thanks for your feedback in advance.
  12. Got em! Very nice. I can't believe how great my CM game environment looks with all of these mods.
  13. Whoops...sorry. I meant to edit the original post.
  14. I think this is one game that I wouldn't expect to be so adhering to realism. The premise/storyline sounds interesting. The fact that the entire thing is in a futuristic setting and based on a fictitious conflict would lend itself to being a more "what if" type game. The one thing that I would expect is quality. I'll be buying this one because I'm a Sci-Fi fan. How realistic can a Sci-Fi game be?
  15. Where was it stated that this "problem" was addressed? Thanks.
  16. I like this mod very much. Got it! Thanks, MikeyD.
  17. This is great! If I'm interpreting this correctly, this would mean that there could be multiple PZ IVH's running around and each could potentially look different. WOW! Another great improvement!
  18. WOW! That's unbelievable! I'm starting to picture CMBB and CMAK with some of these improvements and the picture in my head is blowing my mind. Great job, Battlefront!
  19. Reading your post gave me an idea. What if at the end of a battle, the engine could somehow figure out which soldiers were eligible to be decorated. Not important in the scheme of things but an interesting concept.
  20. First, thanks for asking. You folks are second to none in my book. 1) Not sure what everyone means by Convoy rules, but what I think would make the game experience more realistic is a higher AI intelligence for following troops/tanks/vehicles. If this is what everyone means by convoy rules, then I am in agreement. For example. If I'm playing the AI and one of my T-34's nails a panzer coming through a viewable gap, the panzers following the brewed up one just don't come rolling behind as if nothing happened. 2) To add to #1, if a tank rolling down the road spots an enemy tank (big threat), they won't just keep cruising down the country lane because the unit lost sight of it for a moment. I think this falls under the AI improvement heading as well. The example here is similar to that in #1, but nothing got blown up. 3) Rotating, round wheels/bogeys. Eye candy category. Not quite as picky as hamsterfuhrer liederhosen details. 4) Active skyline (moving clouds). Don't worry Battlefront, my video card can take it! 5) More individual soldiers per squad. CMX1 shows three. Hopefully the new engine will be able to increase that. Thanks, Battlefront, and Good Luck! 6) I'm cheating by making six suggestions. Please make the setting World War II.
