Panthers seem to be able to take a lot of punishement and keep firing, I had 1 panther with at least 3 partial or full side penetrations and it was still going despite crew and equip damage! They can be really rugged, a very different to the sherman "tommy cooker" experience.

Looking at the mg and the tow hooks (that should be black) they are the same base colour as the tank hull. I think there is definitley an issue with the model being incomplete/corrupted in the CW module update. -
So the campaign is not a walk over first time round, sounds good to me.

Will be a lot of work but well worth giving a go. Let me know if you want some missions play tested i will be happy to help.

Just bought CMA so coming to this a bit late, but I am really stuggling with the losses I am taking compared with CMSF. 3 missions into the first campaigne they seem to rout, panic and generally get killed quicker than the opposition. Also their spotting skills are none existant mostly my forces are getting gunned down before they even realise who is shooting at them!! Any suggestions on winning a mission with the Ruskies?

I have only just re-discovered CMSF (i never took to it on initial release especially without the random battle gen) but am really loving it now with all the modules and post release patches. The game is crying out for another module or new verison for the invasion of Iran. It will probably never happen in real life but would be a great update for the game, and to see the latest US/UK forces now available after the experiences of Iraq/Afganistan.

Just want to highlight the "Wait a few weeks and it'll be Combat Mission with SS" I take a few to mean >1 & <4, Fingers crossed

Thanks Gunnulf & Vanir the load out info is really useful as smoke is so variable between the guns i am always left guessing whether i will be able use a smokescreen for an attack

I would like to add air strikes to the debate, as i only ever seen them in pre-planned strike missions, otherwise it seems they are of very little use due the the long delays (the battle as moved on or game finished before they make an appearance)! One advantage i have found with airstrikes is if you select a large target area for the air-strike at least the pilot will pick out a good target not try to cover the whole area like artillery would.

H2H Helper 1.0.0 Available
Placebo replied to GreenAsJade's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
I second that - really good if you have several battles running at once. -
I love the look of the maps and to zoom in and see so much detail, even being able to tell from the spray of builts the uncontrolled fire of a hand held mg42 etc. But for ordering groups of troops I find impossible with trees on, and understanding line of sight etc difficult with them off.
-
Possibly one for the wishlist: Most maps have a lot of trees which look great but that make it impossible (for me anyway) to see whats going when the battle is underway. So i set the trees to the middle setting of close range trees removed. However you miss quite a lot and it is hard to see when visibility would be blocked from tree coverage. Is it possible to have a higher level of transparentc setting for trees so you can see them (or at least their outline) but you can still see your troops buildings etc. behind them at the same time?

Doh can't believe i missed that, thanks stoex

Anyone interested in a quick battle or 2 PM me. i have good availability at the moment.

Ok I think I am reaching that comfort zone with the AI now and really need to try out the game against some other armchair generals. Is there a dedicated CMN opponent finder site anywhere, or even better PM me if you are looking for a game.

I am in the middle of this as well, good book about life as a tanker not the generals view of the battlefield. Now I just wish i could get hold of that commonweath module!!

Great to see the game is going to continue to develop & improve, thanks guys. P.S. if you need another tester let me know -
I will be up for helping out with testing, i want to create a German campaign so it will be a good start to see how you have approached it

What experience level is your bunker?
Placebo replied to SlapHappy's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Are you talking shelters or Bunkers - the bunkers I have bought in QB, they have troops -
Good idea for the current target, not for all previous targets as in Peregines description
-
Yes, I know a very optimistic question but you never know!!
