  4. Hehe, I even had a backstory of Steve and Charles getting super loaded for New Years and then deciding to release a buggy broken demo. What can I say, I was bored and hungover. Also with the launch of the new CMBN site/forums I thought it be fun to take a look back at the old days. I always loved those sandbags on the site. Would be great if there was like a retro option for the site skins. P.S. You gotta cancel the login window several times to navigate the download page I linked to.

  7. On a semi-related note, will vehicles and infantry get different IDs? As it is now a spotted enemy unit, tank or infantry, has the same question mark at it's last seen position.

  9. Thanks for the info about this. Even though it's been cut from CMBN, can you explain more about the compromise system? The enforced pause for an option sounds good. Also a way for both players to agree to a pause(like timed turns from CMx1) would be great too. This feature is obviously great for when RL issues pop up(phone call, front door), since as it is now, there's no way to pause so it's basically gameover. I'm guessing this will come up more often when CMBN ships as MP RT is great for quick smallish games. So the new QB system fits into this well.

  11. This is a real bummer to hear. Surprised this hasn't been asked about earlier, or maybe I missed it. Any idea how soon this will show up, first module, or maybe in a patch?
  12. Also CMBN will do your laundry for you. But to do this it requires you to pour beer into your open DVD drive and your good to go. P.S. Great to hear about the draw distance being fixed.
  13. For #2, this was asked about in another thread with no response yet. But I'd be willing to guess there will be no change to it since I've never heard them talk about a change. I hope I'm wrong though. For #3, This really should of been in since day one, it's basic UI. Sure it's nice to look at all the squads guns laid out in the UI, but it's just not practical. Same thing goes for split squads, gee did I have 3 guys in this group or 4. There's plenty of room in the UI to add a simple headcount like CMx1 had. This is a prime example of them trying to reinvent the wheel when it doesn't need it. Btw, the reason your dead are disappearing is because your troops are doing buddy aid on them to get their ammo/gear.
  14. Bummer, saw the misleading title and thought maybe a video was released. Normally posters would be whipped around here for such false alarms. But since English is not Joeroma's first language, we'll let him slide this time.
  15. On a semi-related note, what about the morale auto-surrender system. Is there anything different about it this time around? Do the scenario designers still have to trick it by dumping a bunch of enemy units in a immobile spot to allow the player to carry on the fight? I hate it when a plan or big arty strike is about to come together and everything comes to a screeching halt with an auto-surrender.

  21. I'd like to second the motion. I just gotta sweet new LED 24' Samsung monitor from Santa and would love to see more settings/options for the graphics. Not just for gamma but brightness too. And while we're at it, any new info about the scalability of the graphics options in-game? I noticed with playing CMSF in wide-screen the graphics are blurred or scaled back much closer now. So just to see a trench or something I have to get the camera in very close. This is very annoying.
  22. Well Lanzfeld, that's the second time you've quoted yourself now. Too bad it hasn't really helped yet, but I like your persistence. Just to be clear, are you referring to fully animated hand-to-hand combat? My guess is that it will be abstracted with sound effects like in the CMx1 series. But don't get me wrong though, it would be great to see the "sh*t hit the fan" fully animated. Probably too difficult to pull it off in convincing fashion, at least not without dedicating a lot of time and resources.
