  1. Are you seriously comparing probably one of, if not the biggest developer/publisher in the entire videogames market to BF?
  2. Whoa, did I miss something somewhere, where did he mention this?
  3. My crystal ball says, expect them to kick open the doors to CMN around x-mas time. With big bones in the new forum along with perhaps just maybe a release date set for the first quarter of 2011. (My fingers are crossed)
  4. Ok so where does the East Front family fit in then? Are those Russian dudes that did CMA working on it? If so then did they start it? Please tell me the East Front games are still coming.
  5. GIMP does this, although I'm not very good with it yet. http://www.gimp.org/ There's tutorials too. There's a ton of single player stuff to do. Besides the main campaign and scenarios, there's a bunch of user made ones too (armaholic.com). There's also an easy editor to use as well. You can whip up all sorts of little battles in a just a few minutes. It's a virtual battlefield sandbox. Check youtube, tons of videos! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ApPAgoZspQ8
  6. In a word, no, unless they put in the QB update. But that's already been confirmed as never will happen. They've been working on CMSF now for over three years now, post-launch. Time to move on IMO. Besides, we got the Western Front family and then the Eastern Front family after that. Bottom line, I think they/we have bigger fish to fry.
  7. Awesome Scipio, they look great, thanks again. I got all your mods!
  8. Something I've never heard of before, not even from Iron mode players. I, like many others assumed the primary difference from Elite and Iron mode is the players UI in relation to his units LOS or visual C2 to each other. I may start playing Iron mode now. But I'd prefer a units icon being dimmed to relate this info to me, rather than being turned into question marks(disappearing). Since there are occasions when I want to be able to see friendlies while having another unit chosen to issue orders. Bottom line, this needs to be added to the manual along with other little things that perhaps only Charles is privy to. In other words, open the lid on the jar and give his brain some air.
  9. Speaking of the Arma series, I just bought Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead for half off. Over at GoGamer.com they gotta 48 hour sale. A nice addition for any CMSF fan since they have a lot of the same AFVs and it's similar Middle Eastern terrain. Ever wondered if you can do a better job if you were that sniper or Bradley gunner?
  10. Because that's probably why it expired in the first place. I've never registered my FRAPs and it still works, for years now. Just use it.
  11. Gotta use FRAPs to capture screenshots. I've never seen spies wearing anything other than civilian clothes. It's probably just a graphical glitch I guess.
  12. No offense, but that's just nuts! Good luck though.
  13. The overall gameplay has absolutely nothing original about it. Just another arcade shoot-em up on semi-rails with Hollywood special effects sprinkled on over-the-top insanely unrealistic set pieces. However, the storyline is somewhat original in that the whole game is a series of flashbacks from you in a interrogation room. Ranging from the end of WWII to Vietnam(which made me want to play the best Nam game ever made called "Vietcong") and the Cuban Missile crisis.
  14. It's not necessary, simply renaming the extension works fine. It still reduces the file size greatly at little to no image quality loss.
  15. Oh you don't need anything, just right click on the file and choose rename and change the extension from .bmp to .jpg
  16. Other than uploading them to a site like http://imageshack.us/, nothing. I do prefer to change it from .BMP to a .JPG though. Mostly because it is reduced in size for quicker upload time. I got Billy from Predator on my imageshack in my sig below.
  17. It's more like your just clicking a button to continue the story sequence. It's becoming more and more common nowadays for game devs to make story parts of a game interactive.
  18. My FRAPs is still working fine, no trial ended. Did you register without buying or something? Because at the front page of the program is an option to register and buy.
  19. My thoughts exactly. But technically speaking, Erwin your wrong. AFAIK right now all scenarios and campaigns in the game featuring the Dutch have no radios and the Canadians have no demo charges. So this is a confirmed bug, it happens 100% of the time. So you see by justifying it with saying "Hey SNAFU's happen in RL, deal with it!" is flawed. SNAFUs do not happen 100% of the time in RL. Zmoney awaits your apology!
  20. Everybody just take a deep breath and count to ten. It's not the end of the world. However, Moon posted this on 10-28-2010 (two weeks ago) in regards to expecting the 1.30 update for non-NATO customers. So what's the deal, are they skipping the non-NATO 1.30 update in favor for the 1.31 all-inclusive? Next weekend will mark a month since the NATO release. Even by BF standards this update is a bit overdue for the non-NATO folks.
  21. Is this done in RL? I vaguely recall seeing a show with SpecOps doing it in the 91 Gulf war. So my guess is yes. If it's not SOP for the average unit, then at the least make it possible for the designated FO teams. The UI change could be pretty simple to implement. Same way as you draw a line with arty except with an arrow at the end or start point to show attack direction. I'm guessing the difficult part will be with actually changing the attack run used by the AI. In short, +4 to this.
  22. How much of Crysis did you actually play? Because to say Rogue Spear or Raven Shield have more freedom of tactical movement is just plain wrong. Trust me, I played the hell outta Crysis and the Rainbow Six games, the latter in competitive clan matches. Although I agree with OPF and the Arma series being much more wide open. Sounds like your more into the realistic military shooters based on your comparisons. Which is kool, me too, but if your not into the sci-fi or the nano suit element, then that hardly makes the game flawed or cliched. Not to mention the mainstream media giving it rave reviews (90% average out of 58 reviews). But hey, to each his own. Oh and about the graphics, since it's not often somebody can say this with a straight face, so I'm gonna say it. The game is now three years old and still looks amazing.
