Great interview, thanks! Nice to see the new guy Phil in on the action too -
I don't know about that, Steve admitted a long time ago they were smoking crack when working on CMBB.

Another "Americans are not stupid" video
MeatEtr replied to Stalins Organ's topic in General Discussion Forum
Not to mention the people chosen look a little.... how shall I say, challenged. This reminds of that movie Idiocracy from Mike Judge. Always liked that part with Charlie Chaplain and his evil nazi regime. -
Hell yeah, I was unstoppable with Check out MikeyDs badass tattoo!

I'm curious about this too. With CMx1 it made sense for the simple abstraction of just sound effects. But now with 1:1 it will look pretty odd for two units to just stare at each other with close combat sounds in the background. Perhaps only animate a soldier doing a simple bayonet attack and using the buttend of a weapon. This includes almost everybody in the game, pistol whip not included. Save the entrenching tool for a later update maybe. When two units get close enough, they run up(already animated) to each other and let loose the animations and sound effects. I know the saying of, "easier said than done" comes to mind.

Well there will probably be new tiles/terrain in the newer titles, like the Bulge family. But I do agree, the map should at the least be load-able in the editor so the map maker can update for the new title/family. Rather than having to start from scratch. -
Oh SNAP, Epic brown nosing!

Then: It clearly looks like your asking BF and not the fans for rumor-mill. But if you do want the speculation of the community then try a search. http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=94570&highlight=release+date http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=94196&highlight=release+date

You know Bill Gates has a cure for that! -
Emrys, it's just below his right hand, it looks like an attachment for a sling. But appears to be part of the actual skin of the gun and not a separate 3D sling. Damn, I'm good, I got the CMBN banner on my first try. Very nice banner for the CMBN site. I guess this will have to do for all the video requests, at least for now. P.S. I think it maybe time to get rid of the ancient T-72 banner by now?

This pic brings up a thought/question: Will troops be able to toss grenades over a hedgerow? They would obviously not have LOS or LOF, but can still hear them and know it's the enemy. And if the TacAI won't do it, is it possible for the player to manually do it?

Find this a tad disturbing...
MeatEtr replied to noxnoctum's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Well that sucks to hear, if it is indeed true. I was hoping the "sooner" part meant within the next two families and the "rather than later" meant the sequel to CMSF. Oh well, another reason why patience is so important for BF fans. -

This is great to hear, thanks for sharing. Can the map be randomly chosen as well? Also +1 to Slowmotions question. Will all the settings chosen be viewable by the player that did not setup the QB? Like timeframe, weather, attack/defend/probe/ME, etc. I'm sure the map previewer will be available to both players. Damn it, wish Steve would let one of you guys make a video of the QB process. -

Piecekeeper, your completely missing out on a major feature of Battlefront.com games. That is to try and pry out as much intel from Steve and the various beta testers as possible. Good times! -

This is great to hear and will essentially get two birds with one stone, hopefully. As we all know the RT modes single biggest shortcoming is no replay. IMO, RT with replay will make playing WEGO against the AI obsolete, but of course PBEM will never die. So, how soon does "sooner rather than later" actually mean? Will this be the next major feature addition to the next family? Assuming this will be the Bulge family or maybe the first East Front release. I know it's probably too far ahead to tell us much more. -

MeatEtr replied to MeatEtr's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
What do you mean by "map selecting/viewing options"? Is there some kind of map viewer available to the player for better force selection based on terrain features? Or is it just in regards to different views of the interface? Also somewhat of a mini-bone there, didn't know there was a "recommended" or "suggested" button for unit selection. Kool! -
I said it before and I'll say it again... QB AAR!

It was a rhetorical question gibby, but thanks for pointing out the painfully obvious anyway.
