  1. Am still confused. If I put all the mods for SOD and turreted Daimler in the same folder numbered appropriately, will I see both versions in a scenario at the same time? Currently I have both turreted hulls in the same folder so I should randomly get the 7th armored and plain versions. If I add the SOD hull and number it (say) "3", will there also be a random chance of getting the turretless version. (I can't see any difference in the turret graphic.)

  4. Can one have Luftwaffe, SS and Heer helmets in the same game or does one have to pick only the one one wants per scenario?

  7. Would one see a mixture in RL? (Enjoyed mixing and matching the German and US helmets, but they were all the same model I think.)
  8. With the WW2 version of the (tiny) Canadian flag there could be confusion with other CW flags as they are all rather similar at that size. (The modern one is instantly recognizable.)
  9. Doh! I like the blue rectangle for Luftwaffe. Precisely cos you see at a brief glance exactly what it is. Am all about what makes something instantly understandable. Another set of options...? Also, re the C&C icons, I never had a problem with 1, 2 or 4. It was 3 that I never actually understood till now. But, I'd still prefer a visual - like binoculars.
  10. Disclaimer: About halfway thru a game I will cease fire after a save, just to get a sense of progress for my own training purposes natch, no looking at the map of course. So... When you know you already have a minor victory with a lot of time to go (over 30 minutes) do you fight on (and possibly take a lot more casualties) or cease fire? It makes sense from a game perspective to cease fire as soon as you have some sort of win. But, for all you know the enemy is about to launch a counterattack and maybe one should play on to the bitter end. Of course sometimes absolutely nothing happens for 30+ mins at the end, and if one gets bored and advances further towards that last objective, that is where 90% of your casualties can occur. So, what policy do you guys follow?
  11. My worry is that I won the 2nd mission but I fear am not getting sufficient replacements to keep on winning. Is it accepted strategy to throw a game, just to allow replacements to build up, or is there a penalty?
  12. What I like about the "hovering" icons is that when you go in close to see the lovely graphics, you're not distracted by colored bases like we were in CM1. Yes, you could turn off the bases with shift-Q(?), but it was an extra keystroke. Can't recall a single time when I had problems with the hovering icons. They are an improvement.
  13. Really good work, Juju. I don't know if it's just me but I find the "lo-vis" defense panel icons to be easier to read at a glance than the so-called "hi-vis" version. Maybe it's easier to distinguish circular colored lights than the squares, which tend to bleed into each other a bit. Anyway, I'm happy with the option. PS: By all means take the SS deathshead off for JonS, but please leave a variant on for us. I like that flag. The only issue is that the rhs SS flag has the deathshead obscured by the guy's arm. Any way to fix? Thanks for all your work!

  15. Forgive me if you replied already. But, I didn't see any reply to my old question whether any chance of getting the German 88 and 76mm ATG's modded.
  16. I moved my mortars into the graveyard directly behind the church as I had C2 problems since the HQ's didn't have radios so I wanted visual/voice. (I had moved the halftrack with the radio next to them for C2, but wanted to move the halftrack and ATG elsewhere.) The FO in the steeple could see all sort of things, but the mortars could only fire at some of them cos they could fire over the church, but were too close to the steeple. Moving them laterally solved the problem.
  17. Ah... So, when we read that such and such formation was "rushed to Normandy from the East Front", they are only talking about the men. The heavy equipment would have stayed in the East? Have always wondered how the strained German rail system could have coped.
  18. Also, in the old WW2 pics of SS, I don't see any helmet insignia on the camo. Was it just on the metal, and/or only for ceremonial purposes?
  19. Please mention in your briefings that the player has TRP(s). I am halfway thru a game and only just noticed the tiny red icon. Also, please mention if the scenario was tested primarily WEGO or RT (or both) just so we know what to expect. Thanks...
  20. A bit too bright and clean to use as RL camo. Suggest fading it to make it look worn and used.
