  1. Yes, it's cleaner. Was surprised that no one else mention it.
  2. Is it just my system or has this site been given a new look? No one else has mentioned this, so am wondering if I changed some settings on my system... ??
  3. My hope is that the reason BF has been so quiet for the past few months is that they have switched resources to doing CMSF2 asap since that is going to be a much bigger seller given current events.
  4. "...rolled into combat hooked up to IV drips." That would make a good "Apocalypse Now" type movie scene... Horrifying scene in there of a trooper smoking a ciggy. That stuff can kill you!!!
  5. If it's a tall building I would reckon it very hard to hit a target deliberately. There's wind resistance aside from the difficulty of knowing exactly where you are hovering hundreds of feet in the air.
  6. Let us know if it's safe to use that site to get those games. Am always nervous about d/l to my clean machine...
  7. There isn't anything specifically vs FSA or ISIS but Zawiya Uprising is a great campaign with Red vs Red (Syrian Army vs Uncons and Rebel Army). There are mods that make uncons look similar to black clad ISIS. You'll have to check BF's Repository (or Google).
  8. Can't help the feeling that recon/scouting is the most important aspect. Given how few units (armor) one usually has, not anticipating an ATG ambush is reckless. One would think that in RL one would usually have more info re where enemy positions are before one is ordered to attack. But, since in CM one rarely is given much useful info, sending several scout units (approx. two 2-man teams per platoon) out while everyone else hunkers down is essential. Of course a few scenarios discourage this by having the enemy start to barrage if one doesn't keep everyone moving.
  9. BUE: Very helpful and useful info re figuring out how much ammo is reasonable to give our pixeltruppen during the set-up phase. Thank you...
  10. Good point. However, even in CMBS and CMSF it seems that the default ammo load is approx. 200 rounds per man. Does a squad take extra for a MG? Usually, a modern scenario has vehicles with extra ammo. However, there are many missions with only inf, and have always thought that the ammo load in those cases was rather low. It certainly discourages recon by fire or area fire. So, what would a typical WW2 ammo load be per soldier?
  11. "...6 30 rnd mags and 300 in bandoliers on clip strips..." Thank you for this info. (Have been asking for years re how much ammo a typical rifleman would carry so my CM squads could be loaded appropriately in the set up.) So, about 480 rounds per soldier when going into battle (3,840 rounds for an 8-man squad)? If the squad also has MG's like the German MG42 or MG34 would the squad have to carry additional ammo for those weapons as well? If so, how many extra rounds would the squad carry? (Eg: An extra X rounds per MG to be carried by an 8 man squad?)
  12. "3 Via Jammu and Kashmir in co-operation with Pakistan" This must be a headache for Trumpy admin. While US tries to exert pressure on Pak, lowering aid/investment etc., the Chinese are rushing in to replace that investment and so will have more and more influence in Pak, and hence Afghanistan and so on. The Chinese are already investing heavily in Africa and S. America to replace the US. A colleague from Bosnia Serbia region tells me that that area is also being "overrun" by Chinese - investment and people. The Chinese are exporting their population rather like how the Mexican govt exports its nationals to southern border states with long term plan of taking over those areas (similar to how US acquired them to be fair).
  13. What I don't understand is how one can possibly use it accurately from the heights depicted in the video. Unless they did this hundreds of times and these were the only 3 or 4 useful hits.
  14. If the critics are correct this is a tank that was designed to "look" serious while actually being a balsawood knockoff. In other words it's all about "face" and "image" - something that is very important in Asia and the ME to cover up the fact that little actually works over there. The question is whether China and N. Korea have produced similar "quality". If that is the case, the weapons systems of that region could be evenly matched. https://www.valuewalk.com/2017/08/china-vs-india-war-army/
  15. I bet your baby is already an expert on smartphones and how to get streaming on your new 4G TV. If willing to consult, we'd pay well for that help.
  16. "...veterans would be less likely to throw themselves at fortified beaches, they new better and new how to survive, thats why green troops were the first wave, more piss and vinegar and willing to take more risks." You can verify that, Doc??? The counter argument would be that the shock would paralyze Green troops who would be more likely to panic and be useless.
  17. If I were the AI we'd need to agree on certain ground rules b4 playing (and stick with em) or I would self destruct game...
  18. "I just wait out the first few turns until I am sure where the shells are falling and then go some other way, happy to have the AI waste its artillery." So gamey, Michael...
  19. One of the last untold and suppressed stories was the extent to which the Brit Royals and aristocracy were Nazi sympathizers or outright collaborators. Hope I am around long enuff for that to be declassified.
  20. A tiny company called OSS (One Small Step) is doing some interesting modern as well as historical cardboard games on this arena. Maybe useful for scenario design? 21. ...And as Mike said, giving Goering and the Luftwaffe some fun/glory would also be a third reason why Dunkirk wasn't crushed immediately. Taken altogether it looks like an xnt decision to halt the German attack - just that with the benefit of hindsight H underestimated the first of many Churchill's "Nuts" moments ... PS: To my amazement the spousal unit LOVED the movie! Said it's cos it's not yer typical "warbore" movie, but done in a very innovative style. She liked the relationships of the desperate men and their struggle to survive. So, take your sigothers... Maybe if "Dunkirk" does well enuff we'll see a resurgence of quality movies on WW2.
  22. It's nice to use units as "realistically" as possible within game limitations. I admit to splitting the HQ's into teams and using the non-CO team for recon/scouts as it has binoculars which is valuable. (Splitting an inf squad results in a 2-man scout team without binocs - which makes it look like a suicide mission.) But, if that is a no-no will stop doing that...
