  1. Hmm... Well they don't work when I tried em. Get message "Too Many Requests". But, no one seems to know about the mod, so...? Hope the new winter mod gets uploaded to CMMODS.
  2. Hi Bootie... I noticed that WACLAW's new HQS 3.0 sounds mod is on your site. But it gives URLs (that seem overloaded) rather than your usual CMMODS button.

  4. Not with the demo. And one cannot use CMSF1 scenarios or campaigns in the demo. Have to wait for full game release. Where in Finland r u? (I had family in Kuopio, Lahti, Helsinki etc.)
  5. Not sure if this is relevant as I haven't looked at this scenario yet. However, in CMSF1 play, it was common for vehicles to use their guns rather than missiles when encountering enemy armor at relatively short ranges. I recall that AT vehicles were only effective with missiles when shooting missiles at well over 1Km ranges.
  6. There already are several xnt RED campaigns in CMSF1 - so hopefully they will work in CMSF2. May need tweaking.
  7. I didn't find that. When I used TARGET the Bradleys fired their 25mm not their TOWS. IIRC the AI decides when it's appropriate to fire TOWS and there is no way the player can order TOWS to be fired. TARGET LIGHT should fire the MG. However, I found that on several occasions a Bradley would fire its 25mm. This is not the way it used to be. So, has the SOP of the game system AI been changed?

  9. Previous discussion resulted in a "yes". Very helpful to always try and have at least a 3rd crewman in any fighting vehicles (incl Strykers).
  10. Any chance you could post these mods over at CMMODS. It really helps to have a central location to find everything. A few months from now no one will remember this mod set or where it came from.
  11. Wish the Stryker crews exhibited the same care. I see them being killed regularly when they pop up to reload the 50 cal.
  12. Makes sense. Otherwise one tends to need to use the Assault squad with the SL and binocs for recon all the time. Would also be helpful to be able to split off a couple of troopers with the binocs to act as recon/spotters.
  13. I use 1920 1200 0 in the "display size.txt" file on my 30" 2560x1600 monitor to make the text more easily readable. Not sure if running at higher res makes the models/in-game graphics noticeably any better. I need to try if my larger (57") 4K UHD TV would display better graphics and more easily readable text. But, then one would have to sit around 12-20 inches from it to see any benefit. Am told that one's eyes cannot distinguish the small size of 4K pixels at normal viewing distances so unless one sits very close to the screen 4K (UHD TV's at least) could be a bit of a gimmicky waste of money.
  14. You don't mention your HD. However, an SSD can make a big difference. I've had good experiences upgrading older systems with fast 1 TB and 2 TB SSD's. If you really want to go huge with an 8Km x 4Km map and Regiment/Brigade TF + on each side you still need to playCM1's CMAK. However, my hope is that by the time CM3 is developed, huge maps and formations will be possible. The only downside is that the workload to play such a huge scenario using the much more detailed CM2 engine (vs CM1) also becomes huge.
  15. I met Chuck Yeager, who first broke the sound barrier and got a signed copy of The Right Stuff book. He's now 95 and still around!
  16. Me 2. CMA is my favorite on par with CMSF. However, since CMA was made by a Russian(?) outfit and they programmed things a little differently (some skins are different than the way they are in other CM2 titles etc.) it may be much more complex to bring it up to current v4 standards. Not sure CMA sold that well when it came out either. But, then again I recall how only a few of us were vocal about asking for CMSF2 after CMBN was released 7 years ago and were told "no way", but guess what... In the same way some of us are also asking about CM2 Afrika Korps. One objection is that "the desert is boring"(!). Can't understand why since CMSF2 provides all the desert terrain one needs and people seem to discovered that they love that.
  17. The "Boing B-17G"?? Amazing model-making - eg how he did the "stressed skin". But, he didn't flatten the wheels where they would touch the ground. I guess he wanted it to roll.
  18. Someone posted elsewhere that they won't appear in the CMSF2 DEMO. If you are talking about CMSF1 make sure that campaigns go in the CAMPAIGNS folder.
  19. Alternative SCREENS and SOUNDS also work re SPLASH music etc.
  20. Be aware that the demos are either Blue vs AI or Blue assaults - so may not be very satisfying H2H.

  22. In "Passage To Wilcox" noticed that the Bradleys fire their main 25mm gun even when ordered to TARGET LIGHT. Also, it's possible to use the FIST to order more than one discrete fire mission simultaneously - is that correct? Even tho' there is no indication that inf cannot cross the stream on the RHS of the map, they refuse to do so and insist on moving across the bridge.
  23. If players load mods from CMSF1 please list what works and does not work here. That would greatly speed up determining which mods are still usable.
