I think that would be called an SOP

I assumed weapon2010 was aware that the crew of all crew-served weapons in the game carry ammo and that he was asking about separate teams.
-
Erwin apparently has a custom version of the game, because at least in CMBN there are no separate ammo bearers for German machine gun teams that I have ever seen. I can't speak for CMFI.

...AND your infantry will be dead from the HE to the face they take from the tank, dead commander or not.

I was just poking a little fun at your word choice. I'm really not offended

I also denounce your challenge, and the Italian inferiority it implies, no matter how historically accurate it may be!

Graphic Limitations In Game

Yeah ARMA 2 is kind-of amazing graphically. But it's basically a FPS, albeit an unusually realistic FPS. -

According to the CMBN manual the animations and models were done by Dan Olding (aka KwazyDog) and Cassio Lima (aka Webwing). -

Possible Tank TacAI improvement
Vanir Ausf B replied to weta_nz's topic in Combat Mission Fortress Italy
CM2 is more armor-centric from a unit performance POV. Infantry are more interesting in CM2 (and thank goodness for that) and more "fun" to use, but armor is the dominant arm of the CM2 ground forces in a way it was not in CM1. -
CM experience level question
Vanir Ausf B replied to noob's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
I remember reading somewhere that combat performance is a bell curve, with the peak typically in the 3-6 month range, after which performance actually decreases. I don't recall if this was limited to WW2. -

That would be a first. -
Allow AT guns to be remanned.

The US rockets are the only ones that are cheap. So yeah, that's the main problem. But I think the German rockets are also too expensive. They are the most expensive artillery the Germans have. I seriously doubt they are the most effective German artillery type. On a per-round basis US rockets are less effective than 81mm mortars, just not nearly enough to justify their incredibly low price (I have tested this). German rockets are literally about 10x more expensive than US rockets despite being on paper slightly inferior. -

Tiger tank front turret armor issue. *ahem* mortar smoke ammo issue Lynx missing from QBs US M4A1 and M21 mortar halftracks missing from QBs King Tiger, Lynx and Wespe models (although I wonder if these may be done with the 2.0 upgrade). Ridiculous QB unit prices for US and German rocket artillery (probably wont be fixed, but should be) -

I sure hope so. I know it's been reported to BFC. I even sent Phil a PM about it. -
That's pretty close to what BFC have said, except Shock Force 2 will come out before the Bulge game.

More interesting, I agree. But they seem more vulnerable, particularly to explosives. By contrast, artillery is more flexible and the smaller calibers at least are more lethal than in CMx1. Tanks are more resilient (crews less willing to bail), no longer get "shocked" when taking a casualty, are more accurate and benefit from increased HE lethality. Infantry do have more ammo than in CMx1, but they have had their ability to fire AT rockets from the cover of buildings taken away and bear the brunt of the increased HE power. In CMx1 QB PBEMs I purchased infantry heavy forces. Infantry was the queen of the CMx1 battlefield, with armor and artillery playing a support role. It seems to me that armor is now the dominant arm of the battlefield with infantry mainly just there to flush out hiding enemy units so the HE chuckers can win the battle. At least that's my impression. I haven't actually started PBEMing in CMBN yet so it remains to be seen if my planned armor heavy QB picks will hold up when put to the test.

Wow, that's like a whole regiment. I like big battles on big maps too, but even in CMx1 I usually limited myself to a reinforced battalion. I think CMx2 is more of a tank game than CMx1. Despite, or perhaps because of, infantry 1-1 modeling I find infantry to be significantly less useful than in CMx1.

I can see it would be handy in that situation. Now all I need to do is somehow have one of mine live long enough to shoot itself dry. -
