  1. Not to bring doom and gloom to this thread but I do hope when the first WW2 game is released that it is in better shape than CMSF when it first came out.
  2. SP1 for Vista already installed. Most recent patches installed for the game was the large one and the most recent one. Is it possible to uninstall the last patch? (I doubt it though). Anyway, not too worry as I have the CMx1 games to fall back on. Thanks for the replies!
  3. No mods installed, just the original game with the latest patches.
  4. The game was running fine until I installed the latest patch. Now when I start a scenario, the screen freezes after a few seconds and then the game crashes. I made sure I installed the correct patch. I have tried making changes in the game menu but it hasn't cured the problem. Any advice please? Computer specs: AMD Athlon 64x2 dual core processor 4400 + 2.30 GHZ Graphics card Geforce 8400 GS OS Vista home
  5. Could be because those scenarios were made with an earlier version (1.02 for example). Are they recent scenarios??
  6. All depends how the game engine places the forces and the location of the flags. A designer can and will make a superior small scenario. But then the only way to really enjoy the CM games is play against a human opponent. Once you have taken this step, playing against the AI will seem too easy!
  7. I use the McMMM mod program which allows you to install and uninstall mods which means the original BMP graphics are still there if you want them. The program is very easy to use plus, it can be used for CMBO, CMAK and CMBB.
  8. We need more info so we can fill in the blank bits. Forces involved, place names etc.
  9. I think you hit the nail on the head about designers for this game. The editor will put a lot of people off so there will be less scenarios to download. But the designers who stick with it and learn how to use the editor will be rewarded. I must hold my hand up and say I don't like the time period (WW2 fanboy!) but on the other hand I enjoy making scenarios so I will concentrate on the editor and just play test them to find the errors.
  10. Give it time lads, I'm sure once the modders start working on the buildings etc things will improve
  11. George MC, How you getting on with the editor? Are you getting the hang of it? I've only just started working with it and found it a bit strange the way the briefings are put together.... but I also had the same thoughts with CMx1 briefings when the game first came out!
  12. I honestly thought Huntarr was a BF staff member or at the very least, a SF message board mod. You come across almost like a guard dog mate! Anyway, good to see players posting screenshots backing up what they write about. At least then everyone can see or attempt to work out what is going on in the screenshots.
  13. Thanks guys for the replies and I'm glad I'm not the only one having problems with the editor! I will just have to study it more and keep popping back here for tips Thanks for the tips Cpl Steiner!
  14. Thanks for the reply mate I find it strange that BF has set up making the briefings that way. It was such a simple task with the CMx1 editor. What I did to work around this problem, was to create two new folders within the game and called them 'screenshots' and text briefing'. Here's another problem I encountered. When placing items such as bus shelters and lamp posts, you can't see them on the 2D map (which is a bit silly!) but can view them in the 3D map. This makes placing such items a real chore as your never sure if they are in the correct position
  15. Nice one Richie! I never tried that trick before but will do in the future!
  16. YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING! Have you never visited the Proving grounds or the other sites where new scenarios are coming out every week?
  17. Don't you mean ' long wait for CMC!'
  18. Just started to put together my first scenario. I saved two screenshots to my pictures folder on my computer. I put together a text file and placed it in my documents folder. When I come to import the files, the game engine only lets me open the folders within the game. Where am I going wrong?
  19. Not to worry mate, you got good scenarios out there Not every player will like a scenario.
  20. Ah, but first CMC must be born! So take your time with that project mate!
  21. Here's a couple of my pet hates Reinforcements coming on in full view of the enemy  Maps that are designed to channel the player into a certain area. If you don't take that route, then you can't advance  Badly written briefings full of spelling errors and badly laid out. Mind you, if I know the designers first language isn't English then it does not bother me so much (but he could get someone to check the briefings first). I could go on but people might think I'm a moaning old so and so!
