  1. Funny isn't it? I have had players tell me they don't like knowing when the reinforcements turn up and others tell me they like to know. It's the same with set up's. Some like them in place so they just hit the 'GO' button while others like to set up their own forces. I look at it this way. I made the scenario and I know I will not please every player out there so I write the briefings how I like them and set up the forces that way to. By the way, I do mention what forces are coming on and where they will turn up
  2. Slightly off topic but... The Proving Grounds is where beta scenario's are placed to be play tested by the players. The Scenario Depot is where the finished scenario's should end up after being play tested to iron out any bugs. Gary runs both sites and at the moment is holding back from hosting future CMSF scenario's for awhile to see how things work out (size of files etc).
  3. What makes it harder for the campaign fans is that TOW is about ready to launch. Hang on in there, it will arrive when it's ready! (like waiting for your first born to arrive!) In the meanwhile, brush up on your CM skills
  4. Very first thing I did when I bought all three CM games was to head straight for the editor So yes, it is important for the game to have an editor PLUS be able to mod the game graphics. Look how important mods are for AK and BB. The guys who made mods for CM (and I thank each and every one of you!) have helped extend the life of the CM games and kept players interested. But let's not forget the team at BF. Without them none of this would not of happened....thanks guys!
  5. You have a good point Mr Dorosh concerning map making. Sure, you can make a limited amount of new scenarios using sections of the original maps but after that? We know how scenario hungry players are by looking at the downloads at the Scenario Depot. From a scenario designers point of view, those limited tiles taken from the original scenarios might not help make the historical scenarios that players like to play. As for downloading specialist tools to make new maps, how many scenario designers do you think will do that??? This means in the future new scenarios will come in single figures made by a very small handful of designers. Will I buy the game though?.........of course!
  6. Well done to all the team! Can't wait to get my hands on the editor! I expect it's a lot more detailed than AK or BB (I hope!).
  7. Just popped over to the Bovington tank museum webpage and spotted this: American armour weekend at Bovington TM It's in June and they usually put on a great show
  8. I'm happy enough to hear they are getting rid of the bugs. Just imagine what the CM community would say if they brought out the game early, full of bugs! But... it would be nice if they could at the very least keep their loyal followers updated (even if it's just a few words!). I think it may hit their sales when it does come out as someone pointed out, the casual CM player would of moved on to other games
  9. Thanks Hunter for the update. That bit of news will keep us going until next year
  10. I keep checking this message board for updates but nothing... If they are having problems with it, for goodness sake TELL US! Most of us are quite willing to wait so the bugs are ironed out but we need SOMETHING to keep us going! Sigh! rant over
  11. About halfway through the battle now mate and those blasted evil little ATR's are eating my HT's!! Let me know if you want any replays to watch.
  12. Have you tried Sie Kommen! This is a series of battles linked together. You can find out more about it at Fredrockers CM website: Sie Kommen!
  13. what type of map are you looking for? desert or dirt and how big? I could make one for you if you like.
  14. Did you use 'tournament save'?? If you did then you can't open the scenario!
  15. you could always try my 'storm 555' scenario.Makes for a good 2 player battle
  16. The best way to play CM is against a human opponent!
  17. or........ head over to the scenario depot and download some new scenario's
  18. Just uploaded the scenario to the new SD. My scenario is based on the Talonsoft EF scenario by Doug Bevard. It's not an exact copy but all the play testers enjoyed it! Here's the main briefing: This scenario is based on the Talonsoft East Front scenario by Doug Bevard. Converted to CMBB by Bob ‘British Tommy’ Millard. EMAIL: bmillard7291@yahoo.co.uk SCENARIO: Surprise for the 17th Panzer! DATE: July 1941 TURNS: 30 variable BATTLE TYPE: meeting engagement FLAGS: 5 large, 2 small TIME: mid day WEATHER: clear GROUND CONDITIONS: very dry TERRAIN: rolling hills with patches of trees and potato fields(wheat fields) BEST PLAYED: against human opponent Original main briefing by Doug Bevard. ORIGINAL MAIN BRIEFING: Klepchevo, 150km West of Smolensk: Though scrambling to recover from the disasters of June, the Soviets still had a few surprises for the German invaders. One of these was the T-34 tank with thick sloping armour, wide tracks and a tank-busting 76mm gun; it was an unexpected surprise for the German panzer troops. On July 8th, the 17th Panzer Division had its first encounter with this new Russian weapon east of Senno. As the 27th Reconnaissance and 2nd battalion, 39th Panzer Regiment advanced across potato fields and through scattered trees, they made contact with the Russian 36th Tank Regiment/18th Tank Division moving west near Klepchevo. The Soviet division had only received a few of the newer T-34's to reinforce its lighter BT tanks and the battle quickly turned into a swirling, confused dogfight between the opposing armour. The experience and training of the panzers soon began to tell and the Russian formation was broken, leaving the battlefield dotted with blazing and smouldering tanks, German and Russian! NOTES: This is not an exact copy of the original scenario but has been adjusted for CMBB. Not suitable to be played against the AI due to the set up and has not been tested or designed this way. Not a historical battle.
