  1. Para I'll send you my mods...and you make them CMMOS compatible, how 'bout that. Gordon Would you rather have us "pig pen" people not release mods until they are CMMOS compatible, and not release to the COH's website. Should this just stick to the CMHQ website. (I don't want to step on any toes). I' ve downloaded all the CMMOS mods but I've had to change each and every file so I can use them on my mac. I'm just thinking about us mac users when I do send them over to the CM mod database.
  2. People, stop testing the game and have some fun like Steve, and play the goddam game. Stop playing ladders. [ November 28, 2002, 08:57 AM: Message edited by: Hoopenfaust 101 ]
  3. More to come in the next few days. The stug is my first attempt using Gordon's "bible", thanks Gordon. Panzer IV D coming soon..... [ November 27, 2002, 11:49 AM: Message edited by: Hoopenfaust 101 ]
  4. Thanks COG I'm actually working on several vehicles right now. My iMac downsamples the textures too much so its hard to tell what the "in-game" look to the vehicle is. In photoshop its pretty crisp. Any modders have any tips or comments...feel free. Props to the COG website for keeping this game fresh.
  5. Please tell me what you think so I can either choose to play the game or try to mod the vehicles in the Gordon Molek "pig pen" style ...I'm not that strong a swimmer. Cheers You can find it here: http://cm.cozog.com/ [ November 27, 2002, 07:59 AM: Message edited by: Hoopenfaust 101 ]
  6. Its because they (Germans) have 5 weeks holidays and they forgot where they put their drawings from the previous design. Work with a German company and you'll see why. It takes so bloody long for them to do anything
  7. First time I played, like you guys, really got beaten. Second time I played, I got a draw, and then realized looking at the AAR map, that his AT guns were in different places from the first time I played. Obviously I forgot to select scenario default set up. I think thats how jgdpzr got a major victory. [ November 22, 2002, 03:10 PM: Message edited by: Hoopenfaust 101 ]
  8. Hello I've just joined the Pig Pen and I'm having trouble doing something in photoshop. I've been using photoshop for many, many years but I've never used layer masks. Now I need someone to translate Gordon Molek's great mod tutorial into photoshop terms and then maybe I can get my head around it. I understand everything except for the layer mask part. Right now I'm working on the STUG IIIF. Step 6: Create a new empty layer which we'll call the Dirt layer. It should be "above" the "Grunge" layer (and below the "Pink" layer - remember EVERYTHING stays below the "Pink" layer). Create an empty mask for this layer. Cut and paste the base layer to a new image. Adjust the saturation to -100% (e.g. grey) and the lightness to +100% (leaving the hue unchanged). This will give you a greyscale image, but leave it at 24 bits/pixel (if you use the greyscale transformation it will often drop the image down to 8 bits/pixel which is too coarse for our purposes). Next, increase the brightness by 25% and the contrast by 50%. The result should be a reasonably bright, high contrast and somewhat grainy greyscale image. Create a mask from the image and then copy that mask to the mask for the "Dirt" layer. This will allow us to apply the dirt effects in the next step without completely obliterating the details. I just can't seem to figure it out. How do I create a mask from one image and add that mask to another image's "empty" mask. Thanks in advance. If I can figure out more layer mask problems I'll try and do as many mods as I can in the future. Cheers Brett
  9. Use Kubelwagons to "abstract" the motorcycles. You can fit a light MG in the Kubel so that seems pretty historical. Try it.
  10. They've always been top-notch sir. Is there any way that some of us can continue with some of your work. You must have some .PSD files hanging around showing how you actually accomplish these masterpieces. I'd like to continue your style of the dirty, early german AFV's, but I need a base to how you get your vehicles looking so good. Tips? Files that you can send us so we can rip off your style?
  11. German winter helmet with bedsheet camo. That would be mine.
  12. Those are really really really nice uniforms. Great job again. The camo version are perfect.
  13. Spike If it isn't too late, partition your hard drive. Since you have a brand new computer it won't be hard since you don't have much installed ( I hope) Have mac os 9 on a seperate partition than your classic and OS 10. You can then completly customize your OS 9 extension set to just play CMBB
  14. Stop calling it "X"... its Ten goddammit. I'm not going to use ten for awhile. No point. I've got a perfect system 9.2.2 (never crashes) Freehand 10 is totally buggy and my Wacom tablet behaves inconsistently. Maybe if the big solid modeling programs and CNC programs are ported for Mac os 10 then I'll totally switch but now my options are still small. A big marketing scheme with Apple and OS 10 is the " I can run a whole bunch of apps at the same time." I could do that with 9. I can burn a cd and surf the internet and do e-mail...all at the same time.. its called RAM. OS ten requires gobs of it. No wonder its "so fast". 10 is still not faster than 9 (especially redraw) and if someone tells you different they've got a brand new mac and have never really used the OS 9 on that same machine. I'm a mac geek and not a unix geek. Now it takes me hours to figure out a problem. Follow the link http://fqdn.com/switched.mov I have the same opinion.
  15. I've got the Osprey book with the maps and little snirps about the battle but I've also got sketches made by the germans on those days of combat July 5th-11th 1943. What I'd really like to know is the size of the village the battle took place in. By the accounts of some of the material I've read, a lot of the battle was fought right in the village itself. The school house, water tower and the train station were important objectives that passed hands several times. I've got pictures of some of the AFV's destroyed right outside the village (brumbar, halftrack and ferdinands) It was a collective farm which had a major railway line run right through the town. I've got the village designed with about 15 buildings (mixture of factories and small buildings with the odd two-storey in there) Those Osprey maps are really hard to understand. They don't really do that good of a job on them. Thanks for the help.
  16. I'm designing this battle with a few things in mind, but would like more feedback as to what the "users" would want for such a huge battle. I have several half assed maps and OOB's of the battle. I'm determined not to make it exactly like the battle. There were too many tanks and too many infantry for me to represent this on this map and still make it playable. Personally I'd rather have a fast computing battle with easy to manage forces. The operation has 6 battles. It will be a static operation as no one really made any real estate changes that require a gigantic map. So far the map is about 3.5 KM long and 1KM wide. I've shrunk the map down considerably for faster calculations. Any feedback would be great. I'll need some people to playtest but this won't be ready for testing for another week.
  17. Jesus, you guys made milk come out of my nose
  18. You've posted like 55 times in 3 days. Thats irregular behavior for a newbie (which you are). We're actually all waiting for you to post something about their not being enough blood in the game, or if there is a blood mod. Chill out.... slow down, read other peoples posts first. Everything you've posted so far, has been posted already. You should lurk more and post less. Thats my opinion. Stop posting useless topics and start reading AND understanding the content within good posts. Post questions that have to do with tactics and mods or anything else that matters to CMBB that can help other people besides yourself [ November 06, 2002, 01:23 PM: Message edited by: Hoopenfaust 101 ]
  19. "Trash Talking" Thats what PBEMs are for. Sending a turn where you know you've just KO'ed your opponents most valuable übertank, calls for great trash talking and even greater mind games. Iskander showed me how it is done. He's quite good at it. Most of the "Pengers" are smart, slick and enjoy excellent wine sippin' trash talk. Thats why I don't venture into that thread...you might have to play one of them
  20. Thanks....er... Tanks I'm a photoshop whiz, but not a mod whiz so I'll see what I can do. Do I just add the respective 500 before the bmp number. [ November 05, 2002, 12:28 PM: Message edited by: Hoopenfaust 101 ]
  21. Can I actually add the proper numbers and use these great snow covered pine trees in CMBB? If not, how? Cheers
  22. No I lied. You guys are right, it has to be snowing to get snow on the ground in a QB. In the editor its no problem though
