  1. Can pretty much run most other apps from OS 9. Duke Nukem, a 3D game, works fine. It's just CM. Got the new 9000 pro card, viva le no diffference. NO Go. Back to the drawing board. Major Wakov might have something there.
  2. After talking with Apple, they decided I should try a new ATI 9000 pro video card. They sent one out, I tried it, and it didn't make a lick of difference. Am still searching for the holy CM grail. will contact apple again tomorrow and see where i should go from here.
  3. Greetings: Here's the latest news: Apple is send me a new ATI 9000 pro card. One of the higher ups in tech supp. thought it might be that. so maybe i'll have it up and running by wed or thurs. Will Report back on this one later.
  4. This is nuts! I've got a new Mac G4, dual Ghz processor. 768 Ram, ATI 9000 pro. Nothing seems to work. All i get is a mostly black screen with some rainbow outlines, or single color outlines, very ill-defined. I've tried reinstalling the game to OS 9.2 (NOT classic) I've looked for updated video drivers. I've tried booting with the "Classic Rave" extension turned off. I've changed monitor resolutions. This same CD worked fine on my old G3 and the current monitor. Apple and ATI have provided little help. Any ideas?
  5. I've heard about the Classic rave problem. While i haven't trashed the extension, I have made an extensions set with Classic Rave turned off. still no difference. all this booted, of course in 9.2.2 I already know CMBB won't work in X or Classic. The Answer continures to elude me. by the way, this dual ghz machine runs an ATI 9000 pro 64 MB video card. spike-o
  6. Thanks N, I checked out the thread. if you ever find what works let me know. will do same. spike-o
  7. Thanks Ben, i tried that by creating an extensions set with "Classic Rave" turned off, but i still have the same problem. Driving me nuts. It's a bummer when you spend all that money on apple's latest and greatest and cant get your favorite application to work.
  8. I'm asking this because I can't. I've booted to OS 9.2.2, installed CMBB, and i can run the first part of the game, selecting one player, etc, but when I load images, its a a Badly defined, LSD trip. totally unplayable. So I'm wondering if you have a similar computer/OS 10.2, and have no problems with it, or if you have any answers to the problem. i've tried just using the extensions i need, but still no luck. Thanks!
  9. Thanks for your response, but i already had used OS X startup to boot to OS 9, then reinstalled CMBB in OS 9.2, and it didn't work, just the effects i described in my post. It sounds like people are running this on their OS 10 systems (using OS 9, not classic) . I'm wondering if they are running an earlier version of 10 or what. I'm stumped!
  10. I just bought a new Power Mac dual ghz, with an ATI 9000 pro 64MB card. it runs OS 10.2, OS 9.2 and Classic. Just cant get CMBB to run properly, graphics wise. When i run it in Classic (classic what?) i can get as far as loading the game, but all i get is a black screen, with 3 small white rectangles in the center. I hear tank sounds and voices and that's it. Game over. When i boot to 9.2, i get past "loading images" and i get a very indistinct, psychadelic landscape. the game will play, if you can find the units in this Timothy Leary Land. Any one have any idea how i can fix this? Have already contacted Apple and ATI. Both unhelpful. Hope you can help, thanks!
