I'm all for modding CMAK for Normandy battles. Magua had a great start back in 2001. Both his terrain and vehicle mods were great. I'm really into the CMBO battle re-creation ( Carentan OP would be great). Maybe we can pool some talent to make a great looking June-August 1944 mod. Tanks Alot you've got some great building mods. Any way you could do some "magua" style Normandy buildings. Old stone... hardly any windows. Cheers

Received my card last nite. Installed with no problems. Excellent card. I'm used to my iMac G4 card with blurry skies and downsampled graphics. This card is great. FPS have increased dramatically.

Now, after some great insights from Schrullenhaft I've done some research. The card that I've purchased is probably a PC video card flashed with a Mac Rom. I've just spent an hour reading about it. From numerous posts in several forums the majority have no problems. Only if you are using a beige G3 or using OS Ten. I'm using neither so I think I'm okay. I paid $99 american for the card ( brand new ) but if you've got some computer savvy you could just spend $50 and do the flashing yourself. I've read its called "piracy" which seems to be in a grey area for me ( whatever ). Mac vid cards are 3 times the price of windows cards. Mac users are not allowed to save money

Thanks guys. This card is from ebay but it is a mac version. The guy selling it has a .mac email address, so everything "seems" kosher. This machine is just for CMAK and CMBB so I'm only going to run Mac OS 9 on it. Hopefully there is someone on the board using this card. Cheers

I've just made a foolish purchase without doing all of my homework. Makjager said his 7000 works great and he gets the smoke and dust... but its a 32MB. Will I be affected? I bought the damn card just to play CMBB and CMAK and now hopefully I didn't make a bad decision. Cheers

I pre-ordered the first sunday of this month, and it came yesterday. I'm designing a Moro river battle as we speak ( River crossing to San Leonardo). The new terrain tiles are great for these italian coastal towns. Tight street and alleyway combat. One thing I will do is change my "default" winter grass. BFC have made it look orange / yellow / green ( appropriate for the weather) but it just doesn't look like winter in italy to me. I'd like to use the "summer" grass and darken it a little.

Ottawa has now received CMAK...All hear this Ottawa has now received CMAK. Good luck to all others. CMBB never showed up last time and Matt sent out a replacement copy. It took 4 weeks to receive CMBB last time, so this is great. Cheers

I'm using a Wacom™ tablet and get that black box crappola. Did BFC do any testing on mac Nvidia machines, or better yet, what machines did they do the testing on. Who can I sue, BFC or Nvidia?

Smoke from burning tanks. Its a great addition. When my stuart was hit and knocked out, a small fire broke (without any smoke) after 20 seconds the smoke went from a light grey to a thick black smoke. Great detail BFC.

Mac OS 9.2.2 iMac G4 800MHZ 512 ram Nvidia Geforce ...2? My cursor has turned into a black square, only in CMAK. CMBB is fine. Anyone? Same problem?

Apple pushed the Mac OS X only date to July 2003. What I'd like to know is: How would they stop us using OS 9. Don't the operating systems run on the same sort of HFS disk system. I still mainly use OS 9 because flash and freehand 10 are buggy and unfinished (they seem more like Beta programs than anything) But Safari is awesome. My Wacom tablet works perfectly now, Jaguar is great. I don't know... I only work here.

This should be moved into the tech forum...but thats not my job. Give me your specs MikeyD. Rebuilding your desktop won't work, nor will re-installing whatever system you've got on your machine. Its an iMac, right? Could be that your mods are too good for your mac.

Mikey Sounds like you are a mac user with a mac user problem. Seems to be more of CMBO problem than CMBB because of the resource files used by CMBO instead of the straight up bmp folder in CMBB. I had to re-mod my data folder when that happened.

I use to have lock-ups all the time with my older iMac DV SE (no partition) even with the backside cache disabled ( don't think it ever worked) My new iMac G4 has never locked up nor has it ever crashed in ANY program (no kernal panics either). Although I get alot of downsampling it doesn't bother me.

Since its new and if you've got the know how, partition your hard drive so you have a small seperate partition just for booting into 9.2. to play BFC games. For Help: Hard Drive Partitioning
