  1. Import a map, its easy. Go into the scenario editor, create a battle, then go into the map editor, allow the computer to generate the map (make sure the map goes east to west when you adjust the Height and width). Make sure you select the proper parameters and its that easy. You can fight a battle in November where the trees still have leaves and the ground is covered in snow. I can send you a quick battle if you want me to prove this
  2. I played the game for a year and a half before venturing out and playing PBEMs against humans. These were mostly ME's where we would pick the forces. I knew what all the weapons and vehicles could do (reading WW II books) from a history point of view, but not in-game. Chris's CM charts are a must have. http://users.erols.com/chare/cm/ Print these out and staple them together to make a small booklet. Its like a field guide for CM. While you are in the purchase screen pull up the charts and view the vehicles stats. Picking "cool" tanks or weapons doesn't always work in CM. You have to have a different mentality. For example, think to yourself, " I'm going to need some long range HE to take care of any of my opponents infantry". From there you look at the charts and find weapons or vehicles that match your need. Do price comparisons vs. pros and cons of the vehicles or weapons you will choose. Look at the blast value to see if this HE weapon or vehicle has a big "bang" to get rid of his infantry. Think of your concerns on the battle field and then buy accordingly. Pick your forces for a reason, its like my old design professors would ask: "Why did you put that radius there" and I would respond " cuz it looks cool". Doesn't cut it, never will Also try some books: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0 760314012/qid=1036094375/sr=8-5/ref=sr_8_5/002-3748855-1237630?v=glance&n=507846 I've got some tactics books from Amazon and they do come in handy. Its mostly theory, but its is applicable. The site redwolf suggested above is probably the best site for these little tip and tricks [ October 31, 2002, 03:06 PM: Message edited by: Hoopenfaust 101 ]
  3. Thanks guys, if this works I'll give them away to the mac nvidia peeps. Cheers
  4. Don't worry, nothing you could say could hurt me... your name is Elmo.
  5. I'm a mac Nvidia sufferer. I remember reading in a post about someone resizing those sky bmpeez so they are not as blurry. I can't search through the bmp folder and click each file because I have tendonitis from playing this goddam game
  6. Which Nvidia driver are you using? Check with version tracker to find the latest. http://www.versiontracker.com/moreinfo.fcgi?id=13906&db=mac How is your hard drive partitioned. I've got a 9.2.2- 10 gigs ( One OS) I've got mac os x (which I never use) -30 gigs ( two OS's on that pup, one is 10 and the other is 9 for classic but I've never booted up classic before. I also have a swap partition for mac os 10. All I can say is pay close attention to where and which OS you are booting off. If you are using your classic system folder to boot up 9, you will have problems. Make a fresh partition and install just the 9 operating system. This could help. My specs: iMac G4 800 mhz 512 mb Ram 60 Gig drive Nvidia (stock) 32 mbeez [ October 30, 2002, 04:11 PM: Message edited by: Hoopenfaust 101 ]
  7. BTS being the gentlemen they are, shipped my copy via AIR MAIL and it landed in my lap this morning. Thanks BTS for the replacement copy.
  8. Everyone lock arms and pray for Me and Tadpole to receive this gift from our beloved Customs of Canada. (or pray like the fellow in Temple of Doom: Um Num Shiva-Um Num Shiva) I'm going on a business trip to Rochester NY, and I'll wear a great big grin when the customs agent has to actually touch my dirty underwear when looking for narcotics on the way back. They give those guys so much power and I 'm happy to oblige when they ask me to open my luggage. Then I'll ask: You wouldn't have happened to see about a half dozen brown envelopes lying around?
  9. Although us MAC users won't be able to use the CMMOS™ System, will these mods have the regular BMP numbers so we can install them into our BMP folder? By the way Gordon those look top-notch. Cheers
  10. Where is my game [ October 29, 2002, 07:47 AM: Message edited by: Hoopenfaust 101 ]
  11. Have you added any mods into the game? I only get those textures in the demo if I'm running other programs with CM (i.e. Internet Explorer, Entourage.)
  12. Hey check this thread. http://www.battlefront.com/cgi-bin/bbs/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=23;t=002506
  13. I'm in the same boat as you guys (Canada). Matt e-mailed me and told me they were shipping a replacement copy. That was last Wednesday. Still haven't got it yet. It has to be customs but I'm still pretty pissed off. I wish they could have sent it via a reliable courier like FEDEX or UPS and not "Global Priority" USPS.
  14. Yes Matt has been helpful...but BFC loses money everytime a package is lost and they have to send a replacement. Sending a package via the same way as the lost package is another gamble. Since the customer pays for the shipping anyway why can't it be sent by a courier. As with most people it is frustrating paying $100 cdn. and waiting 5 weeks for something to to arrive. All I want to do is play the game. Is that fair enough [ October 22, 2002, 11:12 AM: Message edited by: Hoopenfaust 101 ]
  15. Another day gone. How the F***K can someone in the Phillipines get their copy so fast and some of us in Canada never get their copy. How hard is it to use FEDEX or UPS,(like most small companies) to get a product to a destination in three days. Or how about a tracking number?
  16. Nope, not today. I know we're not going to be waiting another 2 weeks for this one to come. Unless they sent the first copy "Global Priority".... then I'll be bummed. Tom, keep downloadin' all the mods you can, thats what I've been doing to pass the time. I've also started playing the demo again. I stopped playing for awhile but needed to try some different things. So it keeps me a little happy. Take a look at the scenario depot's previews of some of the maps. Its going to be a great day when the game does come.
  17. Talk to MadMatt, he'll straighten things out.
  18. Tom Why are you collecting these mods... you don't even have the game yet
  19. Still nothing. Its lost. (rant deleted) [ October 16, 2002, 12:29 PM: Message edited by: Hoopenfaust 101 ]
  20. Still nothing( mr. mailman has come and gone) .Now, if nothing comes between now and friday what do I do? Will a replacement be sent via normal mail again?
  21. Did CMBO freeze as well? My older iMac froze all the time with CMBO and the CMBB demo. But my superdrive iMac G4 has never froze in CMBO or the CMBB demo. I've been playing CMBO on my new iMac since April without one freeze up. Is your hard drive partitioned? How many OS do you have on the hard drive?
  22. Yup... you guessed it . No CMBB in the mail today. I will send an e-mail out to madmatt to just check if it was sent and or if there was a computer glitch and I got lost in the "paperwork" Cheers Brett
