  1. I'm really, really, really, REALLY hoping that 1.11 will also fix the slideshow bug, ie, the problem that makes Core2 machines like mine slow to a near halt and crash in big battles, so I can't complete the Marines campaign. It's one hell of a sore point.
  2. Any chance of an update on this issue, Steve? I really want to get back to the campaign. Have you identified/fixed it for 1.11? Release date for 1.11??
  3. Mord, that's a big one! I wish you lots of luck and - from a purely selfish pov - hope you'll still get to finish the big radio chat mod and continue to produce others for us to enjoy. Go well, mate.
  4. I once, twenty or so years ago, knew a guy who was a martial arts instructor (non-military) who was employed by the Royal Marines to train them in self-defence. He was only about five feet two inches tall and not very broad. Few people (especially the Marines) took him seriously until they faced him in unarmed combat. Then he would take on up to three at a time and they'd drop like flies. He was absolutely extraordinary to watch - and boy, could he dish out punishment!
  5. Or try one of Paper Tiger's Red v Red (Syria v Syria) campaigns: Hasrabit and/or Perdition. A very different experience. Also, at least a couple of the new Marines scenarios make it v tough for the US forces. Webwing's Ghost campaign is another great option, as is Bardosy's campaign Narwick. And the latest in the Ba Bado scenarios by The Phantom. All available at CMMODS, and all designed to test you to the limit. Plus, be sure to play at Iron level, which is the most difficult (and realistic). Lower than that is far too easy.
  6. Oops, I've just noticed you're talking about the mission AFTER Pooh. Hmm, in that case I don't know, though it may well be a related issue.
  7. Ah, the infamous Pooh!! Check the thread I started here in the Tech Forum http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=84007 I'm thinking you have the same problem as me and a number of others. It's being investigated by BF, though we've not had an update for a while (hint, hint!). Basically, I've been unable to complete or get beyond Pooh and have had to abandon the campaign until it's fixed.
  8. Nice mods indeed, as always. One thing I've noticed, and it stands out here with the MTVR, is the posture of the gunner in all vehicles. He is always standing like a dork, with hands at his sides. Is it possible to mod him so his hands are at least resting either on the gun or the hatch?
  9. Although I enjoy single scenarios I'm a campaign junkie. I just love that 'what's next' feeling at the end of a battle.
  10. That's great news, Moon. One of the great joys of the old CC games, once I'd exhausted the single player options, was to log into the (I think it was) Gamezone, hang around the lobby, and join one-to-one battle with others from all over the world, some friends, most complete strangers. Many, many late nights were spent there. It'd be fantastic to be able to do it so simply with CM games.
  11. I'm loving what I'm reading, re CMWW2 and game development. One (more) request, for Normandy and beyond: can we have flamethrowers, both inf and tank, please?
  12. Romml, I just searche on CMMODS for the vehicle mod. Can't find it. Have you published it yet?
  13. It's a bit of a mystery, I agree. I've had to abandon the campaign (in your excellent Pooh battle, SgtM). I've made so many attempts to keep playing but I can only play a single WEGO turn now, then it crashes if I don't both a) save, and quit and reboot the whole game. Even then stability isn't guaranteed. I'm gonna have to content myself with some of the new single scenarios until this gets sorted. They are damn good battles in themselves, from what I've seen so far, but I'm itching to get back into that campaign and very frustrated at having a reasonably top end rig that's being trounced by machines from the Dark Ages!
  14. I just love that guy's face in the second pic.
  15. A probe by Mishga has got to be worth checking out! Will report back after the action.
  16. SgtMuhammed, Pooh ranks amongst the very best battles I've played. Very tough, epic, and shows the Marines and update off to great effect. The enemy fights like a demon, and the ambushes and sneaky positionings you've set up are masterful. I love it. Still haven't completed though due to tech issues (see thread in the Tech Forum). Really hoping for a resolution to the problem because I'm enjoying the battle immensely and really want to complete it and move on in the campaign.
  17. FMB et al, yes, I found myself in Pooh (so to speak) when I was expecting to find myself in mountain scenery. Garm, yes I experienced that. The trick is (slightly cheating, but only because my game crashed and lost the save so I had to start again more than once) to take out the ATGMs before Fox Company arrive. The main ATGMs responsible (ie that have LOS) will have revealed themselves earlier. You do still need to move Fox immediately though, as other enemy units will move into LOS positions.
