  1. Yes the loss of the mortar is critical when he is short on infantry, that team could have balanced up his fight against the more numerous Americans. It would not have been so bad if he had knocked out Bils mortars. I can see the Panthers getting distracted by Bils infantry and then getting whacked by the M10 or Sherman's.
  2. OK so that should mean you still have some rounds to hand and if you can get the team over the other mortar all is not lost? Mind you long way to walk.... And who knows what bears might be found on the journey...
  3. Thanks for the update and grapics, beautiful as ever... Bil, I did not think you could get the Shermans down that slope as ground looked a bit rocky, nice move and avoided the road... Now I see what you are doing and can guess at some approaches you might take... That M10 certainly is landing the blows, sooner or later one will get through and then the game changes totally... I presume your two mortar teams are still functional and have ammo left? Trying to work out what mortar teams you have? Is it 3 x 60mm and 2 x 81mm?
  4. Doug, from the latest video I still see the mortar team icon active on the left? I guess there is a team member left alive? Is the tube destroyed?
  5. I can see another approach now we have seen how the shermans arte being infiltrated down the valley... If he can get the Shermans on the valley floor to the right below Finnochio ridge and out of site of the Panthers he can control that side and force the Panthers to attack side on to the M10 and the AT guns. I think that is what he has in mind with the Shermans moving down. I agree his (Bil's) Infantry on the left are a force to be reckoned with and will force the Panthers to give them attention while he will move the Shermas into that sweet spot on the right. Doug in his last post is saying he has not seen the Shermans but if you watch the video carefully he is getting sound contacts and he will have to act on those if he has seen them. That should give him a clue as to the Shermans are no longer above him... I also notice from Doug's video that he still has quite a few units far back (such as HQ and Shreck team) that do not seem to be moving forward. I am not so sure having a reserve that far back will help him, he IMO needs those further up, especially the shreck team. In regards to Bil's inantry having total control over the left side, I am not sure that the tree's will provide that much cover, but without loading the map up I am not 100% certain about what LOS opportunities exits to infiltrate his infantry along that route... Still lots to play for, and with the number of hits on those Panthers, it is only a matter of time for one to be taken out.... (that or M10 to be knocked out by a single Panther hit...)
  6. I am surprised you did not try and move those teams out of harms way, might still have been same result I guess as exposed position and very vulnerable to mortars. The loss of 50% of your arty is going to hurt bad..... I guess you have to hope the Panthers can give you the edge... (as per your comments on way the game will go...)
  7. If you have time it would be good to see where they are and approach they took? (I guess we will find out in due course). I had thought they might still be on ridge line?
  8. I need to dig out charts but I am not sure how good M10 is vs frontal armour on the Panther, I am guessing Bil you are happy it can do some damage, and as shown it got a hit. The height and the angles might make it better for you? Getting the Shermans down that slope is going to be fun.....
  9. Hmmm Bil has been landing the blows on you, I guess you are easier to spot sat in open, that loss of a T\C could be crucial. Do you have any armour contacts showing for your tanks? Do they know there might be armour up there?
  10. You gotta love the AI path finding at times, that or you scream at the pixel truppen!!!! I would guess a bit of rock messing with the tracks....
  11. Hmm tried to edit post, but to be clear there is no roll back process, just re-install
  12. Yes I would be very reluctant to start playing any campaign with v3 at the moment unless campaign was created with V3 engine. As for playong on older version you can do this by creating an earlier version of the game EXE but I guess this is only open to those who have the earlier disc or download of the engine. If you paid for V3 you will have got V3 and I am not sure if you can still get the earlier packs of code? If you do have the earlier packs you can reload the game and ensure that you create it and name it differently, then apply patches to which level you wish. It will cost you some of your activations in the process...
  13. What a Paperweight to have on your desk... Which site has that on display?
  14. Yes buying CMRT was the right choice, played George's new Various scenario vs the AI confirmed it.... Wide open vistas and seeing tank battles at their best (IMO). Take the plunge you won't regret the difference in play is massive.
  15. Micro payments are used by other larger companies, the problem with it is how to collect without a big cost overhead. I agree I would be very happy to pay a small amount per downloaded scenario and it would help some designers....
  16. Yes he does have a knack, and he is teasing us in another thread with a promise of more....
  17. My take on it is that it is a round that does limited damage and nearly got through. It might not even do any damage but gives you an idea that it did better than a non penetration.
  18. No one he did it unprompted. I don't fancy your odds 1 M10 vs 2, you may get lucky? Mind you now he is unbuttoned a loss of a T/C will force a pop smoke and retreat routine...
  19. The more I look at this the more I am wondering how Bil will win this one. He might have to sacrifice some bait Sherman's in the hope of getting a side shot on one of those Panthers? There is no easy way to get those Sherman's down the slope and on the sides of those Panthers. The AT guns are not easily going to be manhandled into position and set up in time... Obviously long way to go but at the moment I am struggling to find the silver bullet for Bil.
  20. That could well just have persuaded me to buy the vehicle pack....
  21. Just checking your force pick, is it just the two 81mm onboard Mortars you have? From memory is that a 48 round load out for each? Ref gamey comment re wtaching from your oppo side, yes IRL that would not be possible, but this is thank god (or what ever you belive in) not the real world and just a game... So I do that all the time, it helps with situational awarness and you get to see what your troops are doing... Hmmm he drove it forward so he must see a spot where he think he can get it to without you being able to see it... Your videos are good as it gives us a better idea on the map and as I have not loaded it up, very uesfule to see what the actual apporach down that valley is....
  22. Bil is the wind direction towards your base line? Looks like smoke drifting towards you? I am guessing we are going to see some smoke used in this game? What wind direction would you have preferred?
  23. Hmmm I don't remember any such spawning issues? Sounds odd, but with no save files from that long ago I can not check. This IMO is the best campaign pack.
