1. Ahhh, the evil bald-one's B-Day. He grows old...he does. Yeeeeees, and wiser too. Happy B-Day, Matt. Hang in there and you might get to be old enough to grow some hair. Jeff
 2. I would have to say about 99% of the time I never guard my prisoners and I hardly move them from the spot they surrender. They will only "un-surrender" if a friendly unit comes near them. I just make sure there are no friendly units nearby. Jeff
 3.
quote:
Originally posted by Juardis: Jeff, note the smilies...refer back to one of your fellow cesspoolers (Aitken) threads on this topic...then you will see the true way. Which is that I am indeed making fun of the ridiculousness (word?) of the gamey argument while acknowledging that there are those that will no doubt argue is gamey. And therefore I preemptively laugh at them as well

Ahh, I see. Well then, I apologize for getting out the rubber hose on you. Jeff
 4.
quote:
Originally posted by Lars: I particularly enjoyed Woody Allen singing karoke.

For all that is holy and sacred, that man was F'ing histerical and what made it even better was that he had no idea just how damn funny he was. I about split my gut just lookin' at him. Jeff
 5.
quote:
Originally posted by Juardis: Well, if we wish to open the Aitken gamey dismounted AT guns during beginning of meeting engagement Pandora's box, then hiding your tanks in scattered trees at the beginning of a ME is gamey . Let's face it, if you want to talk real life, if you're advancing and expecting to meet the enemy, I doubt seriously a tanker would drive his tank into scattered trees and idle his engine. No, he would be ready to move and fire at a moments notice. Furthermore, how could he have gotten into the scattered trees without being spotted from any units in LOS. Gamey gamey gamey!!!! That is...if one believes Aitken . Me? I hide them in scattered trees and unmask them at an opportune time . Works fairly well so long as you don't get burnt by absolute spotting (e.g., their grunts spotting your hidden tank for his hidden tanks).

Geezus, will you drop the gamey thing? I can come up with any number of valid reason for each one of your "gamey" issues. Gamey is when you take advantage of the game's engine to win a battle. It is not starting AT guns in trees, or tanks in scattered trees. Lets stay on the topic. As for hiding tanks... I have encountered many times in my life a copse of trees on the very side of the road that I couldn't see into standing only 50 feet away let alone 500 meters. I am not sure about scattered trees but woods or tall pines should be able to easily conceal a tank from almost any distance. Jeff
 6. I have ran HQ out in the open about 100 meters towards a buttoned tank and taken it out with a close assault. I can happen. You just have to be good. Jeff
 7. Hmmmm... This is odd but tis morning and I am the first of last night's gathering to post. It appears that my brothers in beer are not weathering their hangovers as well as I am. Too bad. I would like to start off by first thanking Hanns for his over-abundant enthusiasm in purchasing and drinking pitchers of beer. Well done. Peng, Seanchai, Berli, and Lars it was grand seeing you. I will never forget the man with the pink feather and the leather chaps. May he be beatin' into a bloody pulp in an alley somewhere. Jeff [ 10-25-2001: Message edited by: jshandorf ]

 8.
quote:
Originally posted by Lars: Wrong conclusion, CMplayer. We just need to get Slapdragon properly greased.

What? Ooookaaay.... You just make sure you sit on the opposite side of the booth tonight, mister. Jeff
 9.
quote:
Originally posted by Slapdragon: At least it would be a crappy existence with no chance of advancement.

I thought you got that from teaching school? No? Jeff
 10. Shaw, May I suggest you put more enthusiasm into Turkey-boy's beatings? You can borrow my rubber hose if you wish. Yep, nothing more lovely than seeing a SSN getting' a good vigorous beating. Jeff
 11. When a gun is damaged and coaxle MG also is "damaged" and will not fire. Any bow mounted weapons will fire. Jeff
 12.
quote:
Originally posted by Slapdragon: Yes, those words over two syllables come later in your schooling. But cheer up, you get to take dental care and nap time this year.

Slap, shouldn't you be getting back to your remedial water-painting class? You might miss out on the duck-duck-greyduck. Hurry along now. Jeff
 13.
quote:
Originally posted by Treeburst155: We've got some big news from the front! Ari Maenpaa has managed a huge victory over Texas Toast, 82-18. Ari was the Germans. Congratulations, Ari! This puts Ari's average at 74.33, right up there with Fionn's 77.25!! OK Fionn, time to come out of hiding and take on the mighty Ari Maenpaa!! The standings have been updated. Treeburst155 out.

Damn him. I knew he was pure concentrated evil. Jeff
 14. Well... Berli, while you were passed out on the couch [Peng and I left. Basically we got tired of listening to your labored wheezing breaths and left for better surroundings. Unfortunately Seanchai lives there so he was trapped. The poor bastard. No, Peng and I had a drink at his Hotel bar and watched the Yankees save their sorry asses from a loss in the 8th inning. Bunch of fricken primo donnas those Yankees are... Grrr... I left him there shortly afterwards and no, Evils he had not puked as of yet and if I knew about this tendency I would have stuffed him in my trunk for the trip to the Hotel. All in all the gathering was grand and fun. Many laughs we to be had and I snapped many evil pictures of Peng doing the most odd things to trees and empty cracker boxes. It's Berli camera so beg him for the pictures. I don't need them since they will be burned into my brain to torture me for all eternity *shudder* Oh, and BTW cheers to Seanchai allowing us to trash his house, burn and consume his charred flesh, and generally for putting up with us. Good man he is... Jeff
 15. Hey... I am owed some turns people. Get busy. If you need me to tell me to resend the previous turn. Jeff
 16.
quote:
Originally posted by killmore: Let me explain why a lot of East Europeans see all german troops as NAZIS. The definition of Nazi Army unit would be any unit that executed/tortured civilians. In the East these atrocities were performed by most units not just SS. Thus most German WWII soldiers are viewed as Nazis. Even in germany about 2 years ago there was a exhibition of pictures showing atrocities performed by German Army units (Wermaht and not SS) (It was on the news because there were protesters claiming these photographs are falsified and atrocities were fault of just a couple of SS units) There are a lot of documented Polish village massacres and SS was not involved. I am not even going to mention Bialorussia or Ukraine. Compared to German troops Soviet troops are viewed in Poland much better. Sure they would eat a shoe polish or steal a watch but they would not kill or torture Polish civilians. In fact they were often helpfull. (This opinion is aglomeration of opinions of 10 Polish people who lived through WWII) Germans units showed more "restraint" in the West. Soon enough all eye witnesses will die and we will be able claim anything we want...

Not that I am condoning or justifying any WWII crime but the reprisals that Wehrmacht troops usually performed on Ukrainian citizens was because of the atrocities that the Ukrainian Partisans would commit against the Germans. It was all one big vicious circle of violence. The Ukrainian and Russian partisan would kill each other AND civilians (for helping either side or the Germans for that matter) and kill the German soldiers. To quell the partisans the Germans would execute civilians or anybody they saw as a possible partisan. It was really sad since the civilians were always caught in the middle and suffered the most. As I understand it most Wehrmacht troops ignored the general order from above to execute all Russian prisoners and Jews etc... But there were many incidents of regular Wehrmacht performing atrocities for one reason or another. Now don't get me wrong... There was the SS and the "Death Squads" that did practice mass murder on a wholesale level which is totally unforgivable but painting the Wehrmacht with some broad generalization is incorrect I believe. The US had its fair share or atrocities in Vietnam and Korea for that matter but the US army isn't pictured as being murderers in general. Jeff
 17.
quote:
Originally posted by Kanonier Reichmann: more than likely drugged animals

No, they aren't drugged. You can tell when you see him chase down an extremely quick and LARGE Taipan and grab it by the tail. No... No drugs. Just extreme stupidity. Jeff [ 10-19-2001: Message edited by: jshandorf ]
 18. Dammit! This SUCKY BBS poster thingy won't let me post a message with 40 smilies! Screw it then! Happy B-Day, Peng. I hope you pass out in a pool of your vomit tonight and die. Wishing you all the best, Jeff [ 10-19-2001: Message edited by: jshandorf ]
 19.
quote:
Originally posted by Jarmo: The skirmish with Shandorf is well underway. We have a deep valley with lots of buildings and flags. Both started with a trusty old 300 meter dash. Now we're in the little village called Stalingrad. There's 3 tanks peeking from behind the far hills, one in the middle and one in each corners. The fire from them is troubling me some. My scouts swear the tanks are: Panther, Tiger and a Panzer IV. Could be anything. I'll wait to make sure before opening up with the 1000 pounders. Rats, now Shandorf knows he should pull them back and never bring them forward again..

Fire away, Jarmo. I will humor you. BTW my battle with CDIC is going pretty well. I have mangled several platoons and I have almost turn the flank on him. He has managed to beat up 2 platoons of mine with arty but I have many more were they came from. Jeff
 20.
quote:
Originally posted by dalem: You & CMplayer need to realize that what happened to you that day in the theater was not your fault. Don't mistake strong feelings of pain, anguish, and betrayal for love or affection, or even need.

Sounds like you have been through this before but for something else. Did you use dolls to show the social worker where the bad man touched you? Jeff

 22. Ooo! Ooo! How about this for a title? (Who knows where this line came from? Should be easy with this geeky bunch) "I see you have constructed a new Peng Challenge Thread." I do like Joe's Tolkien title...a bit esoteric though... Jeff
 23. I love how it's a Sherman you show on fire... Jeff
 24. Once you are around here long enough you will understand "The Lock" and "The Bald-One". For he is a thing of mystery.... Hi, Mom! Jeff
