1. MPLS worms, I sent out a group e-mail with Hanns, Dalem, Seanchai, Peng, Berli, and I on it. If I missed anyone...piss off. Or I suppose you could speak up and we can put you on it... or something... Jeff
 2. I only but veteran units for specific roles such as Zooks, Snipers.. etc.. The minor additional cost can make a big difference there. As for the AFVs.. The cost is just too high. I would rather take my chances on with Regular AFVs. Veterans and above die just as easy it seems to me. Jeff
 3. If you leave the Sherman alone and it spots the Panthers it will pop smoke all on its own and reverse. Jeff
 4. [For the MPLS CMers get together.] Now I know sitting in a bar in downtown MPLS with a cold frosty in one hand and a lecherous eyeball on some short skirted girl sounds like fun and all but how about we arrange some CM TCP-IP play? I have 3 computers at my house with a network hub that has one more port available for say maybe a laptop. If you losers are going to be in town long enough we could maybe plan a evening of CM play. Or I suppose we can just drink ourselves stupid in some pub downtown...I'm all for that too. My vote is for Brit's Pub but it can be quite busy... There is a pub on 1st Avenue called O'Donovans. It is relatively new and doesn't get too packed. They have Murphy's BTW. Jeff

Dinner Dates are rapidly sucking up evenings this week so hurry up and set a night. So far... Tonight (Monday Oct 15th) is bad and it looks like Wednesday might be right out also. Jeff
 6.
quote:
Originally posted by Treeburst155: We have more news from the front! Shandorf hammered Ben Galanti 78-22. Congratulations, Shandorf! Shandorf has been steadily improving his average and is now breathing down the neck of #5 ranked Jarmo. He has six games completed, the most so far. This was Ben Galanti's first completed game. At this point all active players have completed at least one game. I believe there are eleven of you active including Fionn, who I haven't heard from in awhile. I will update the standings tomorrow. Treeburst155 out.

Grrrr! Yap! Yap! And it would be prudent to point out that I have 2 games going on with Jarmo and CDIC, who are ranked above me. Oh yeah, baby. As for those games... The first turns are just coming in on my Dorsch and Jarmo games... But my CDIC game is very interesting. It looks as if CDIC bought exactly the same kind of units and employed an identical plan of attack. He attacks strong on my left and I am attack strong on his right. The difference in our attacks is that mine goes pretty well and his is taking a beating. CDIC's uber-Hamsters have run into strong opposition as they crested the hill on my left whereas my British panty-wastes are encountering no resistance on their advance of CDIC's left hill. Excellent... Muahahaha! I should soon have his flank turned and I will roll him up like a Pillsbury Croissant. Jeff

 8. Speaking as an American and putting myself in your shoes.... Is this room out of the way? As in, can you shut the door, and if they didn't know about it would they be any the wiser? Also, just bring up the point before you show them the room. Just tell them, "My 'war room' here has a lot of German WWII relics and such. If things like that upset or disturb you we can skip this room all together if it is all right with you. Okay?" Anyway, it wouldn't worry. If you know you are not some Neo-Nazi nutcase and just a History buff that collects German WWII antiques you have nothing be ashamed of. Jeff
 9. In my experience with mines I have seen it all. I have spotted mines before I run into them AT or AP. There have been times that my units have went into mine fields and not spotted them even after a minestrike. One thing I have not seen is engineers remove mines. I would really love instructions on how to do this right. Jeff
 10. All who are playing me, I have been busy the last few nights so i have been unable to return games. I will make an effort to get files out tonight. Thanks, Jeff
 11.
quote:
Originally posted by Michael Dorosh: I'm still waiting for a turn from you...I'm pretty sure I sent the set up in. Or did I?

Unbind our shorts. I have it but I also have another setup to do. Setups can take a bit. Patience. Jeff
 12.
quote:
Originally posted by Ben Galanti: Yeah, this one is winding down, and not in my favor. I've got to see what I can pull out from it, but it's not pretty. Your hamster-truppen did a pretty good number on my guys on that first push (well, plus some nasty tree-burst arty shorts that butchered a platoon pretty good ) I think it's the Shandorf "Green Hordes" which really got me. I'm going to have to start doing that I think, those extra manuever units would have made a difference there at the beginning... As for the news from Kettler's fight, I didn't get a chance to check e-mail yesterday, doesn't sound good though... Ah well, the fight is still young, and I have some tricks up my sleave.... Ben

Green troops work best when you can advance them in good cover and keep them out of DF from heavy weapons. Buying a company of Green compared to regular saves you somewhere near 100+ points which can buy you a nice 105mm or 120mm spotter. Jeff

 16. Excuuuuuse me.. I just wanted to wade in here and splash some sewage in Mr. Spocks direction. The fetid little toad lost to me in his precious scenario. And just like the Golem this slimy toad at the end still couldn't accept the fate which was been laid before him. He of coarse cried foul about a charge I made on the only flag he controlled. He called it gamey but considering he had only 4 men left who were pissing their pants and kissing their asses goodbye and I had 7 men left who had plenty of ammo and were still alert I would call it not gamey but his complete and utter lack at anything resembling a secure position. The pud. So Mr. Spooge take a long walk on a short dock, you gimpy bastard. LORAK! Mr. Spock - Looooooooooser! Loser! Shandorf - Not just a winner but the kind of winner who goes home after the big game and f**ks the prom queen kind of winner. Jeff [ 10-08-2001: Message edited by: jshandorf ]
 17.
quote:
Originally posted by Treeburst155: Shandorf vs everybody who remains active.

LOL! That coment cracked me up. Well, considering those players who bested me or tied me have yet to play the higher ranked players.. yes. As for my Fionn game.. Technically we were at the end and it was going to be a draw but Fionn dropped off my radar before we could finish it. My battle is Ben is about over. I have him surrounded and penned in. I control all the flags except for the one at his deployment area. this one should be a 70-30 battle in my favor. Muahahah! Actually near the begining if Ben would have pushed in the center a little harder after his inital contact with my troops I would have been in trouble but after he backed off I was able to gain the momentum and I haven't looked back since. Jeff

 21. Well, I have always been a huge proponent of the argument that gun hits are much too frequent. With the fact that you can light up a Sherman with 20mm from the front and disable it completely within 2 turns only adds fuel to my argument. Now where is Slapmonkey to come in here and tell me I am wrong? Jeff
 22. Tourney update.... IF you care... Not that you do, but I don't care if you do or not. Riiight... After a slew of my opponents, who I had crushed or was about to finish crushing, dropped out my remaining games consisted of 2 draws, 1 loss, and 1 win. This has sucked immensely but I will prevail. Worry not knightly scumbags I will right my ship and sally forth to victory. I have another game wrapping up where I have come out on top. BTW, Mr. Spock don't you owe me turn?! I sent my turn to you a couple days ago and I have yet to hear a reply. Afraid I am going to win, eh? Come on you thin-armed ninny...send me my turn. Jeff
 23. Hey! Who haven't I played yet? I had a few other games going but those people dropped out and I lost all clue to who I haven't played. Micheal Dorosh, do we have a game going? i can't remember... I had games going or finished will all the people who dropped out, dirty birds. Send an e-mail to me during the day at jshandor@ces.com if you want to negotiate now. Or send one to jshandorf@mediaone.net in the evening, since that is my home e-mail. Jeff
 24. Well, John to tell you the truth I had no idea during the coarse of the battle how bad off you were. Since the visibility was so low I never got decent intel on the damage I was inflicting. From my perspective I could really only see about 2 platoons that I ravaged and from my past experience in this tourney I expect you to at least have a company, if not more, of men left to fight with. If I would have known, or even had a clue, how much you were suffering I would have gleefully pushed on your flag. You did manage to ravage about 2 platoons of my men and if I would have counter-attacked I really only had about 1 platoon I could spare for that, so I decided against it, since I was sure you were going to make a push somewhere else and I wanted that platoon to plug any holes you might create. I must say... your unit selection left something to be desired. You bought ALOT of slowing moving support weapons (MMGs, Mortars..etc) and with the LOS their effectiveness was basically neutralized. You only had 1 platoon of real infantry, they being regulars, your other company of infantry was Green. In my experience Green troops are very bad on the attack and should really only be used on the defense, or possibly as a second wave to reinforce an attack that better troops had initiated. Anyway... All in all you just got some bad luck with the map and your unit selections. I have been there.. trust me. Manpie handed me my ass with some amazing luck. I happens. Besides... I was only poking at your apparent thin skin with my comments. You must learn to laugh at defeat and wallow in failure with pleasure. I have. Jeff
