1. Oh sweet nectar, finally a winter mod that wont require sun glasses to be gazed upon. I would say so far that about 1-3% of my CM games were in snow, I cant stand the brightness of the whites used so far.
 2.
quote:
Originally posted by Shadow 1st Hussars: I have a feeling it that there might be grass and trees.

BTS said they're scrapping that idea for CMBB as it wasn't popular in CMBO. I remember MadMatt talking about an "untextured look" for CMBB, he mentioned it cuts developement time in half. Sounds cool.
 3. I've never felt I was at a disadvantage as a defender. I believe the best strategy is to place your defending units in vital positions, or positions that the enemy will most likely pass through, and from then on, as you observe enemy movement, reposition troops to more useful positions. It could be that this "defensive limitation" issue stems from the result of imporper movement of troops from unskilled players. There's many people who feel timid about moving troops out of their given foxholes that they were placed within at the beginning of the game, as they think this will criple their defences, when in reality, your forces are rarely in the spot they should be and repositioning is vital to holding ground. there are some problems however. As spectorx said, defending units that are in a position for a while should be very hard to spot, especially in comoflouge, and should have a great advantage. There was a certain scenario in Operation Flashpoint where about 5 men and myself were advancing up a hill through thick forest defended by three Russian riflemam. The Russians defeated my squad easily, I didn't even see them, they were invisible but they easily saw me.
 4. I think they'll have tanks. Is that good?
 5.
quote:
Originally posted by Mattias: "FOBAR" [ 12-25-2001: Message edited by: Mattias ]

Look up.
 6. Humph, I still don't see swaying trees with individual leaves and real time shadows, count me out on this one, what a dissapointment.
 7. I'm not sure if BTS is adding this, they probably will however. The player should have the option of setting up a map where, if a player clicks on an enemies unit, no information at all could be accessed. For example, I wouldn't be able to click on my enemies units and press enter, as it wouldn't bring up the info box as normaly would. Also, unit training level should be hidden (green, Crack), infantry casualties as well. That would be great, I would play it like this all the time. It would be nice to have the option for your own units as well.
 8. Is it just me, or is there absoultely nothing to do at the scenario zone? I have yet to find any scenarios.
 9.
quote:
Originally posted by Juardis: oompah loompah? No. Pernicious kinnits for not making CMBO perfect (vs. near perfect).

Ah, so that's how it's spelled.
 10. Ahem, F-STK, it was in reference to your stereotypical comment about lattes and artists. You got the bong part right though. You almost got me again, can anyone outsmart the knife? I DON'T THINK SO! [ 11-29-2001: Message edited by: Amidst_Void ]

 11. Cool quote Stoffel, put a period at the end. The sentence feels so... infinite without the period, like it never had a chance to end. Poor sentence.
 12. Is it just me, or is CMBB shaping up to be the greatest game ever? it gives me shivers of delight just thinking about it. These guys are putting so much love into the game, so many features, it's mind boggling. The interesting part is that not only are they implementing an infinite amount of things in the game, they actually WANT TO DO IT, and enjoy doing it. There aren't many companies like that. CM is the first game in the series and BTS had it nailed with this game. What I mean is, the product was made, and made right. There isn't really anything major to complain about. It didn't take BTS three games, like most companies, to achieve near perfection, they did it on the first try. That's very impressive for an extremely complex genre that is wargaming. That's what makes CMBB's release so great. CM was so near perfect that they don't have to spend their time reinventing aspects of the game that didn't work for CMBB, because it all worked. So it's more a matter of getting historical facts down, cramming features into the game, as aposed to fixing a million bugs that most companies do in sequels. Just from what I've read in the faq's so far, I can already tell this game is massive. The turkey is getting stuffed good. I sometimes wonder whether the BTS headquarters is, in fact, secretly the Willie Wonka chocolate factory, where every worker is an "umpa-lumpa". That would explain the impossible progress and unsurpassed gaming experience we recieve from BTS. I wonder what flavor Matt's head would be...
