1. One question I have with regard to voices in CMBO, which sound file number is it that sounds very Yank like and goes like "Yaaaah". Normally the sound is triggered when an enemy AFV is killed but it's somewhat annoying if the side doing the killing is either the Axis or British. It just doesn't sound particularly realistic if you're not playing the American side. Regards Jim R.
 2.
quote:
Originally posted by Max Power: During Gordon's Rumble II battle I controlled a 57mm that took out a King Tiger with a flank shot before a 76mm could fire near me. Then a Panther fast moved down the road and the 76 couldn't acquire a shot fast enough because of its slower manuevering.

And guess who took it out with a first shot kill from his Stug... yours truly. Fun campaign by the way, but we was robbed with all the bleedin' wire & mines we had to battle through... it was worse than the Somme! Regards Jim R.
 3. Hi Kapitan. I would be in your debt if you could send me the sound files to jimbo@picknowl.com.au. Thanks for all your efforts. Jim R.
 4.
quote:
Originally posted by LuckyStrike: Hey, it worked for the Ewoks on Endor...

Oh gawd... here we go... bleedin' uber-Ewoks now. When will it all end? Regards Jim R.
 5.
quote:
Originally posted by Gyrene: The M19. Saw a lot of action in Korea. Gyrene

Lucky for the Germans it didn't see alot of action in the ETO. Regards Jim R.
 6.
quote:
Originally posted by Sergei: Go and see the Peng thread, that should give you some light. Fionn just got heated, but he has since apologised.

Yes, just that single Peng thread with Fionn in it. Shouldn't be any problem locating it... Regards Jim R.
 7. It's not modelled the same as the Wasp (or the Hotchkiss for that matter, which only had a 2 man crew). When it suffers a crew loss it can still fire its main gun or its MG (but not both) with the main guns rate of fire slowed due to the remaining guy in the turret having to basically do everything i.e. load, aim & fire the weapon while buttoned. No mean feat I suspect. Regards Jim R.
 8. What, you like the idea of your men being targets inside mobile coffins or is it more a case of wanting to be able to target them as the Russians and rack up easy points? Regards Jim R.
 9.
quote:
Originally posted by Colonel_Deadmarsh: Thanks for the humor, Shecky.

How do you get "Shecky" from Kanonier Reichmann? You've got me stumped on that one. Regards Jim R.
 10. Now THAT is definitely not a stylish looking machine even if it may have been perfectly functional. Regards Jim R.
 11.
quote:
Originally posted by Brian: [/qb] Christie's biggest problem was that he usually didn't put actual armour on his vehicles - usually all they had was a shell of dural. He preferred to rely upon speed, above all else for protection.

If I may be so bold as to ask... what is dural? Thanks Jim R.
 12. If your thinking of the Blohm & Voss which had the engine located at the front of the fuselage with the cockpit located on a seperate mounting on the wing where you'd imagine a second engine would be, then it certainly went way past prototype stage. From memory, a number were produced and apparently they were a delight to fly, if you could get over the bloody strange look of the machine. If you're not talking about the Blohm & Voss then forget I mentioned it! Regards Jim R.
 13.
quote:
Originally posted by Goanna: [QB] (3) One player buys his forces in the editor and sends that file to the diety. The other sends his selections to the diety in an e-mail. Either or both of you don't want to buy - that's OK, have the diety pick something reasonable. (4) The diety then adds the forces of the other side to the scenario, saves it and sends it out as a tournament save to the player who starts and you are off. (5) That's the simplest way. Optionally, I prefer the diety to muck around with the scenario a bit to add that element of surprise. (6) Thank your diety as its the only scenario review he's going to get.

I'm following and agreeing with what you're saying right up to the point where it seems necessary for the third party person to be on a diet. I mean, what the.....? Personally, I think the type of person you need in this position is a god like type who controls the purchasing of forces etc. Regards Jim R.
 14. Don't forget: "Yawohl, Herr Ubersturmbahnfuhrerunterofizier!" "Yes Sir!" Regards Jim R.
 15. If one was a fatalist one could argue that as fate would have it, Fate got in through fate. Sorry... pretty corny I know. Regards Jim R.
 16.
quote:
Originally posted by Gyrene: Ugly planes? Any German WWII twin engine bomber/night fighter and any Russian biplane.

Eh? What about the Me 410. It may not have been a great performer for its day but it sure was one sleek, gorgeous looking aircraft. BTW, I agree with the Mosquito being a great looking (& performing) plane... how could I not since my old man flew the night fighter version over England! (456 Squadron). Now as for the French conglomeration, whose idea was it to strap a bloody alpine cable car to the bottom of a perfectly good twin engine aircraft fuselage? Regards Jim R.
 17. Heh, heh... nice one TB. I'm sure JK will leap to his own defence though about how this thing with him & the rockets is blown way out of all proportion. Regards Jim R.
 18.
quote:
Originally posted by busboy: To be fair, I didn't say that, I quoted it. Also, the picture there was of a seperate vehicle, not of the mobile shed in question.

O.K., problem solvered. Regards Jim R.
 19.
quote:
Originally posted by busboy: [qb]The Bob Semple was armed with 4 machine guns, it was 12 feet tall had had a crew of 8 men. 8 men? I can understand 5, but 8?

God! I thought everybody knew this. The reason for the 8 crewmen was that 5 were needed to operate the "tank". The remaining three consisted of the rouster for the sheep, the shearer and the fleece grader once each "bitch" was done. Don't you grogs know anything? Regards Jim R. 20. Just a quick note to let my remaininmg opponents know (i.e. Lopaka, Cpl. Carrot & Wreck) that I'm now back on track with Christmas now out of the way for another year & my ability to return game files will be greatly enhanced from now on. I hope every body enjoyed (or are enjoying) their Christmas and I look forward to continuing the hostilities shortly! Regards Jim R.
 21.
quote:
Originally posted by AD: Absolutely fantastic! Question: Is that some small furry animal in the rubble shot? (about an inch or so below the rightmost soldier - staring into the "camera") Perhaps I'm just seeing things???

You better watch it AD. If you're not careful you'll become a full blown member with such prolific posting as this. Member No. 4 & STILL a Junior Member. Sheeesh! Regards Jim R.
 22. Just to let everyone know that my ability to send return files of late has been patchy, at best, due to the Christmas period but I hope to be up & running on a reliable basis once we're over the 25th. I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas & then our pixelated soldiers can get stuck into the serious business of killing each other again. Have fun! Jim R.
 23.
quote:
Originally posted by sitzkrieg: Reichmann, Check the links in my first post. You can try either ftp or http to download the file now.

Thanks sitzkrieg, it worked like a charm. Regards Jim R.
 24.
quote:
Originally posted by The_Capt: I have seen some Manouevre solutions but they are few and far between. The one game I did see it doen was classic. I played Fionn Kelly once (not trying to name drop), he conducted a classic "break-in" battle followed by a "breakthru" in which he positioned himself in an area where my defence was untenable. This is Manouevre, rolling my flank and killing me in detail is Attrition.

So your the poor S.O.B. who was smashed by Fionn in that AAR game posted on the CMHQ site where his opponent wouldn't divulge his name. At last we know! Regards Jim R.
 25. Bugger, now I can't download it. All I get is a single line of text with no ability to click on anything to download a file. I don't suppose you could change it back to its original ftp format could you sitzkrieg? Thanks in advance. Jim R.
